  10. true bud,ive used it for years, its a tool i use and i have bred more breeders of winners than i can think of using it,ive never shouted about using it and yes i also know some top fanciers who top the nationals and combines who use it,good luck bud. les
  11. mart training young birds is all about getting them from A-B has fast has possible, out of the basket into the loft, first start by letting them out just in front of the loft everyday back into the loft with food waiting for them then a mile away, make sure there hungry, out of the basket into the loft ,food waiting for them, keep moving them further away, again food waiting,A-B has fast has possible,if you can get them to around 15mls a few time and there racing back like hell A-B you will have a good season and yes you will get them from the races easy, keep them healthy and on light corn for the first few races, there not burning anythink off in the early races, gerry plus mixed with a little barley is a good mix.think small before big. les
  12. theres a lot of fanciers who only reckon they know what there looking for in eye sign, thats why so many people go wrong with it,i use it always have,i started looking at it at 13 yrs old,the old eye sign books were a load of nonsence and crap, ive picked top breeders out in a few lofts and also picked birds out that will only breed rubbish, but many other factors come into it aswell, being a good stock man helps a lot and a good judge of pigeons,i use it always will,it works for me and ime happy with it,everybody has the rights to decide themselves thats what makes keeping pigeons interesting,we shudnt pull people down who believe in it and also the same with people who dont believe in it,everyone to there own.My best ever breeders had eyes like diamonds, never failed breeding winners.keep smiling lads, all the best. les
  13. hi,i sent one pigeon to the 1 loft race and lucky enouth to still be there at the moment, theres a long way to go yet so fingers crossed.sorry to hear those that are gone without a chance given to them.looks like 600 plus birds got home okay. les
  14. over the years i have had some of the finest red fox janssens that have been around and won many races with them, they are a wonderfull family of birds that freek romein put together before his sad passing, rooie appie was a fantastic breeder,i had 2 g,children off him through gerard schlepphorst, plus a g,son of the red fox couple he and het schoon voske,i also had a son of stamvater 76 that bred over 21x1sts ans still his g,g,children are still winning today, camphuis bred from the red foxes to create the old 05,there was much said about the old 05 but his nest brother was an even better pigeon but came home from a race badly injured so camphuis had to put him down,i still have 3 hens bred very close to rooieappie and old 05,thinking back i wish i still had a family of them but things make you move on i guess.nice pics Blaz les
  15. i saw some of those advertised in the homing world last year,a lad from durham was selling them.not 100 % but ime sure there janssens, plenty of reds in the family. les
  16. Hi ALL i must say they were some very top pigeons missing yesterday and also still missing today, yes multi 1st prize winners that have won over the channel year in year out, ever heard of drastic races when the sun and moon are in the sky together, ive seen it many times over the years were pigeons dont turn up even on training tosses, nobody needs tomake excuses has all over the country have suffered big losses and with federation winning pigeons, think about it before calling top pigeons sh**,somethink wasnt right on the day and yet no one can explain it.????? les
  17. sent 8 to falaise 5 home on day 1 this morning 2 missing yet. yours dropped in well bud, well done.
  18. they did have the karl hermans plus a few vander weyers, they are more or less the same family has vander weyer was related to karl herman and he got most of his birds from him,ive seen and handled some of the best hermans thats flown up here in yorkshire but even bill ward has said there not has good now since other breeds have come about, but they were fantastic years ago,,broke my novice status with wardys hermans. les
  19. none has yet, early days yet though. les
  20. 100 % agree,my wife lets them out, cleans them out, takes them to the club when ime working nights, clocks them in when i have to work days. les
  21. those pigeons in the eijerkamp book must be very far back in the youngsters peds speed bird, ive also got that book and its a very old one, showing the original made out pedigrees for the youngsters might help better, ive had g,children off the old 05 and also james bond,2 g,children off vos de byter and schoon voske also a g,son off rooie appie, there good birds but too far away from the originals now.ime not saying they wont win but putting those pics in is very miss leading. les
  22. with what pigeons ive had over theyears i do know theres sprinters and distance pigeons and they are different. les
  23. quit a few years back i had a good family of fast janssen birds that were winning 1st prizes and then i got some soottjens from j.s.lofts and john salt,we trained the janssen and sootjen youngsters out to 40mls and believe me the janssens came rolling in between 5-7 minutes behind the sootjens and thet was every training toss,we entered 18 sootjens ans 12 janssen youngsters into our club open race and had all 18 sootjen youngsters come together from 47 miles not clocking until the 18th pigeon trapped taking the first 4 positions and the only 4 we timed in,the hanssens were 5 mins behind them, sootjen pigeons are the fastest birds ive ever seen and had thepleasure to race with,i also believe there faster than the van reets.my janssens were fast pigeons but struggled to keep up with the sootjens and the odd one that did trap with the sootjens we found were panting, were the sootjens wernt.food for thoughts eh les
  24. ive 2 pairs of sootjens,7 pairs of vander merwe,3 pairs of janssens, and 4 pairs of stoces/voets from silverwings and 2 outstanding breeding voet cocks.and yes ive also too many stock aswell, but like the look of the vander merwe birds, les
  25. well done gladdo, listen to my mate tooney,he wont put you wrong, and yes 5th place out of 800 birds is very good, they will have read you only sent 9 cocks but if they are good enouth they will beat thousands mate, keep at it bud you will only get better.HEALTHY BIRDS WIN RACES. Les
