  3. nice birds andrew, what have they bred for you ?
  4. are they his new grizzle family of pigeons ? years ago he just had the jan/vanden bosch birds but now he seems to have a new family of birds. les
  5. Hi just out of interest does anyone on here fly the above strain or still have the odd cock or hens still flowing in there lofts,to me there was no better vanden bosch and janssens anywere than that what came from schlepphorst loft in germany,i had 2 g,sons from rooie appie and a g,dtr from henk van boxtels shallie blauwe that bred top pigeons, just dont seem to see that line about today, also heinz willy ritz vos blood.
  6. i can name most of them, especially the janssens, the gaby hen and the grizzle cock. les
  7. yes they are janssen de klaks, not sure but i think he was the loft manager for de klak. les
  8. Has for me i have only a 18ft loft which houses everythink i have,so every year i buy stock birds ,odd few to blend into my own to keep the strenth there, then later i re sell the stock birds because ive got there offspring ,i cannot keep many stock birds so i only buy the very top stuff to get youngsters from them, ive sold a few on here and this year alone they have bred winners for the fanciers who bought them.you can get bargains through people who are small back garden lofts. les
  9. same here bud,had a few yrs out due to wife been poorly raced youngsters 1st time last year and full season this year, still building a family but ime getting there slowly, wish i held on to my family of janssens but when your heads not right you do things you regret later.good luck 2009 les
  10. thats a big youngbird team bud, itwould do my headin with that many.
  11. your right gangster, they were only a few,but quality aswell, thats why people are able to keep them pure has they say has the cross has been put there years ago.Janssen pigeons are the best birds ive ever had.not had anythink yet to beat my results that i got when racing the old janssen blood. les
  12. sure is mark, dicke meermanhas the best old type of janssens i have ever seen, going back to the old henk van boxtel janssens, the no1 satalite lofts for the janssen pigeons, they still carry the very old type of janssen eyes and feather. les
  13. they didnt really have a method jonjon,at the time they had such class winning birds it was easy for them to breed top class birds, all i can say is that they paired on winning performances has way back there birds were from different lofts and formed to make there own family.Plus the janssen pigeons now are a little different than they were back then through different people forming there families over the years, only know a few lofts now that still resemble the old stuff. les
  14. Only raced 6 widowhood cocks and odd hen every now and again this year, won the 1st race and scored in a few more, all yearlings and they were trained hard, ended up runner up in old bird average so not bad for 6 yearlings, will play them for certain races next year, with youngsters i scored twice i think, won the 2/bird but dropped after 140mls has the darkness birds took over but ive got some crackers for 2009,12 cocks,12 hens.Jonjon you dontneed a lot of pigeons to win ,you need class bud. les
  15. Think i was one of the first to but from j.mellor the white bandits via roland janssen,i got 3 pairs from is very best,i raced them for 2 seasons and my results were very poor, they made me feel like a right novice,a friend bought them off me very cheap and had similar results but this year he split them all up and crossed every one of them and hes managed to win a few this year including 2nd and 3rd fed 200mls,sorry but i still dont rate them in this country,a club member raced them last year and this year hes always been a top flyer but has dropped down really bad, think hes getting rid now.its what ive seen with my results and others, dont think they will be around in the next few year,if so they will be crossed to get results. Les
  16. Theres always been 1 price in belguim and holland and another for this country, why ,because most of us carnt see whats happening there so what we see in the homing world we tend to believe to be correct, ime affraid it isnt, just alot of auctioneers bulling there pigeons up to make money, not talking about you stuart,i know you have sold a lot of good pigeons at very good prices, and what youve just stated on your post i agree with you. les
  17. F.T.Salt have some of the closest to the originals, had them a few years ago, sorry to say but sold them when i moved to my new address, somethink ive regretted since.bred loads of winners from them. les
  18. Nice to have a go at selling youngsters to help you out in racing, but you can loose good well bred youngsters as much has you loose bad ones, good luck bud hope you fly well next year. Les
  19. think one of his good reds were called Galabank supreme, ime sure of it has a youngster i was into the red/grizzles of kirkpatricks. Les
  20. ime sure wally pope had the old kirkpatrick birds and got them directly from kirkpatrick, think he had some top red grizzle pigeons that won many races over the channel, yes he is deceased.Did he race in scotland ? Les
  21. Vander merwe blacks are bred from the horeman/tournier lines,no vander wegen in the breed.
  22. If you buy from louella and want the distance go for the jan aarden birds, theres a lot out there winning with them,my best old janssens came from louella,i have bought some more this year and ime over the moon with them,id have paid a lot more for them else were and these what i got werent cheap.good luck Les
  23. i use diat 1000 mixes with 50% barley a hand full of rape seed mixed and 2 hand fulls of hormoform,D.A.Tonic in water and wheatgerm oil on the corn and thats it till there last flight is up.never over weight and even my 10yr olds are acting like yearlings and droppings are good so ime happy. Les
  24. When you look at all the new breeds that are flowing now you can trace everything back to the janssen bros, even though most are decades removed from them through breeding they still have an influence of janssen blood in there vains. Les
