  4. if we had hot summers you would see a different pigeon, its sh** weather in this country so your birds feathering wont be 100% untill july-aug unless you have heating in the loft. Les

Like i said andrew, lets see what winners you have reported back this year, hope they turn out good for you, lines like that would be very dissapointing not to be able to breed good stuff. Les

will be interesting to see what you breed from them this year, then maybe you will get people interested, fanciers want winning stock these days rarther than just the breed, its hard enouth these days trying to win races so if you buy from breeders of winners your half way there i guess but good luck on selling them. Les
  7. by the way, nice youngster in the aviatar bud. Les
  8. Det them trained bud, dusnt matter how long they fly around home 5 mins or 1 hr,training them to come straight home is all that matters,if there keen at mating all id do is train them forget about them flying good around home, that dusnt make them win races, training does. Les
  9. i had a son off stamvater when paired to sheer elegance, went on to breed 23 ouutright 1st prize winners,1988 bred wish he was still ere. Les
  10. was told the same,i think it was jimmy that told me. Les

  12. Hi All Does anybody still fly these old janssen lines ie stamvater ,arjan, firske quarry lady lines, these once were top pigeons and were responsible for lots of winners, they made me look great in the early years ,pity i didnt still have them.Hope to hear Les

  14. i bet he flies well with them bud. Les
  15. i like strong willing cocks and like them better if they are prepared to take another box from another cock,it creates strenth in the loft, the type i have warn each other off regular and smash each other with there wings,no other has taken there boxes has yet,all powerfull pigeons.
  16. is Ankie the pigeon that tony bates owned and later sold to mike ganus, sure its the same hen been sister to the president.and she is a janssen hen. Les
  17. Ray gerrard schellephorst crossed the vanden bosch with jan aarden and van wonroy has you know, and look what damage they did in this country when they first started to come over,i love the vanden bosch birds and janssens, has well has yours. Les
  18. the gabys are worth there weight in gold, ive a pair from that pair and i handle them every day, there flying great and look fantastic, paulo dont think youl go far wrong with them from jimmy. Les
  19. val is a top class fancier, gets the best out of them i think aswell, but i always think if you buy pigeons you want as close to the original lines that bred the combine winners and not necessary from the winners themselves,he gets his birds from frank sheader, sheader got them direct from sootjen, you need them has close to the original stuff, then start from there, just like val did. Les
  20. very nice birds, theres some class get sold on here i must admit. Les
  21. your managment i feel has got to be 100%,you carnt just blame a pair of birds before looking for the reason has to why there stresing out,has it might be the fanciers fault, not the birds. Les
  22. Hi jimmy, you are correct,it was called dragons blood. Les
  23. if sootjens,i would go to john salt from kimberley,he still has the old stuff, but theres many different strains about now,so i would go for sprinters that suited me and i like the feel of.
  24. Get a clay block,a bag of mixed grit ( the one with red grit in) and a bucket of natural red mineral ,mix it all together into a pot and refresh it everyday, and i bet your dropping are great within 12hrs and your birds will look great again.Dont think all your pairs are the same, some stress out when theres no natural grits available. Les
