  1. so wil a sprinter win a 500ml race then, before you jump out and say yes,you would be wrong, before you bite back,1st have you seen abird drop in and win a 500ml race, and if so tell me if it had won a sprint ? . to win at this kind of race you need a good marathon pigeon, same goes with sprinters you need an athlete, but young zimmy know what hes talking abouy. les
  2. if you can get the vanden bosch from gerard schlepphirst, germany.he had the very best,i had them from him years ago, wish i wudnt have been so stupid and sold them, there g,g,children are still winning,mr & mrs clare sell the schelleporst birds (vanden bosch ) seen them a while ago in the homing world and there direct aswell, dont be put off by some comments they are really top winning birds but also agree there are other top winning breeds about now. les
  3. still dissagree, sprinters will come from distance but not at there best capabality, sprinters have a different wing structure to those of the distance type. les more opinions from more fanciers ?
  4. so why do people catagorise pegeons ie sprint/middle/distance,whats other fanciers opinions, could turn out to be a good topic. les
  5. no it isnt, pigeons are bred and built for a purpose, some pigeons carnt fly further than 150 miles, ive seen them in belguim, used only for sprints, people have brought them into this country and they just carnt handle our race programme. les
  6. agree, love the sootjen strain, the early ones anyway, and very fast if you get the right ones. les
  7. i have a 07 cock and have the same proplem with him, except theres nothink wrong with him,he is in full condition but wont fill eggs,he has been paired to quit a few hen but just fails to fill the eggs.thats interesting about dianobol has i use to bodybuild and know its a testerone product. les
  8. they packed up a few years ago,had the best, read homing world thisweek page 152.they had janssens/vanloons and a breed they called "aliens" i think. les
  9. buy a good pair of latebreds from 1 good long distance fancier and another pair from another good long distance fancier and cross them, long distance pigeons have to have balls to fly hard for 10 plus hours, its all down to the birds, dont think its that much of the fancier. les
  10. A few go,they want to own up and let them all go,not a few. les
  11. were mollys loft is situated is on an allotment and then a row of terraced houses, but at the end of the street there is a big asian comunity, not saying its them but you never know these days, just funny how there lofts were broken into when theres a few situated on there,or they use to be.i think steve will get back into flying again and then maybe molly will cheer up and try again,i hope so anyway. les ketch
  12. would certainly try it out,my birds are very tame so it dusnt bother them me picking them up from races, but it would be ideal for when the wife clocks in for me when i am on weekend days. les
  13. hi alun,if thats how they turn out no wonder they fetched good prices, les
  14. i know molly,(red hen ) she races with steve shearman from sandal in wakefield, yea she did do some top write ups,the idiots want a good right kicking if found.realyy gutted for her and steve has he and molly had some good birds. les
  15. yea, usually they sell birds due to unforseen circumstances not withdraw them, propably had a very good offer, good luck to them anyway, most would have done the same i think. les
  16. yea, they didnt look very clever when i looked at them but they were latebreds, cudnt believe how much he made the other week,16 grand i was told. les

  18. Hi Does anyone on here fly the koopman pigeons,or raced them for a few years and if so are they doing the buissness for them and at what distance. les
  19. i clean every day, when ime at work the missus does it,you can spot anythink that may go wrong with your birds like this, plus i dont like soiled dropping, theres a few fanciers that only clean out once a week near me,my birds look 100% healthier than theres so it tells me ime doing right, not them, also when racing starts there the ones that seem to struggle getting there birds right. les
  20. bill ses the ones he had have gone down a little now,to many new breeds beating them now. les
  21. try "The Game Keeper" on here think he has still some top hermans.
  22. not sur but i think they are based on pigeons of grondeliars,sootjen,stoces/voets. les
  23. big mistake i made this year was with darkness, first year doing it and i think it was a big mistake just taking them straight off it instead of slowly doing it,my y/birds got respitory and lost some top pigeons through training when they werent upto it,got respitory proplems sorted out and started them off at 128mls for there first race, flying very well for the remainder young bird races, you live and learn, and only get better.roll on april 2010. les
  24. i have a half brother to the sire to these birds and sold a son off him on elimar fetching £176,these are good birds that nick adshead breeds,if there off that pair then you wont go wrong with them. les
