Lol, you wanna see the wording on my birds Pedigree's lol. which are only as honest as the man writing them.

I suppose it depends if the pigeon has any of the ailments lol ... Mind Canker seems every present, but that is not neessarily a bad thing...
-
Same as Blue with black ... need a bigger contrast I believe... but then what do I know...

No disrespect to any feather merchant, or any one that sells or leans / gives a y/b. There are as we all know no quarantines. Not Louella or even the great Ron Williamson can sell / give you a bird that is quarantined to produce or win, or even be there at seasons. So this must be the 1st and foremost realism to having new stock. Second it depends on Trust, for as Louella stated many years ago similar to above he added... 'But the better the bird, the most chance of ...' and as Ron says, 'the best apples fall nearer to the tree'. Likewise most will say the further down the generation without actually racing, the less the chances. Or nearer the tree. Hence why most people's - those not able to spend a fortune, or even a lot of money - are the Give birds given in god faith. JMO thoughts...

Google is nay gode gal... has to be the local council. They sell them for a couple of quid... or may loan you one... or photo copy it for you.

Glad I don't race in Ireland. Sour grapes I think are causing ones' face to contort!

Kettering Clear Blue skies, very light WSW wind, good visiblity

Once they have finished routing / ranging, and are content at home, the good ones that want to be there will be. Outside of seagull milling days etc. they will home.

Realistically any fit conditioned bird should home from 540 miles. Prehaps not quick enough, but then that is down to the fancier. Had a fellow the other week say 'Cor Roland, can't understand dem, the come like the clappers on training tosses, swirl half a circle and then in.... I can't understand it'! Birds are fit and conditioned......That is why he still at the bottom when he times in!

Have sent you one too Mark.... tests for nigh everything too!

Thanks Tammy for filling that in for me. I have of course no comment, as I know not anything, but like many others no doubt I will wait and see just what transpires, or not as the case may be.

Never ceases to amaze me how certain things / topics just dry up. Saw a Post where it was alledges that a Convoyer wasn't on site... or the Transporter was, but no one to man it, or was it not there, then again in the same post that there was two with it when one went home and the remaining one had to ask other convoyers to help. Confused! Never a part where it was an actual fact, though some one told some who said that someone said that according to him that told him! Well may I humbly suggest that if this is / was true, then bring it to the appropiate parties tat can sort it out. Then if it is true, apploliges are in order. But to say that it's not actually been proven and to put it upon a public site is I feel irresponcible. Facts first please. what is the open verdict now. that some went the week before to meet up with those that went the week after the race! It beggars belief!

Good Posts Shadow and Rose, agree 100% Amazes me when one reads of the Cross that the Master brought to be crossed by that produce. and then that of cuase is the owners Strain, quite rightly too as Buscheart said! And so be it, paper flies, and some times a paper bag could win a a blow home race, but when the flaps are up, it's the pigeon, and what the fancier may or may not have done that counts. not the paper pedigree to sale on any...

buschearts (37 votes) 34.26% janssens (29 votes) 26.85% staf van reets (16 votes) 14.81% kirkpatricks (7 votes) 6.48% van loon (7 votes) 6.48% van wildermeersh (5 votes) 4.63% vandenabeele (4 votes) 3.70% jan aarden (3 votes) 2.78% That's interesting. Pigeons are but pigeons, and George Buschearts shows that it is the 'Stockmen's' sence and natural racing abilty that is indeed the winners. Have a friend that dominates the fed at middle to the farthest. Buschearts... have stood the test of time, mongrols all of them. And that is the art breeding a Pigeon to a Pigeon. Regardless of pedigrees. And not related birds are far superior of course... linebred, but not INbred.

Is one saying then that the pass word etc. I have, and many others are now invalid. that has to be good news. I stil have the pass word, but haven't used it of late, so may well stand corrected, but then again I did say 'Need, or did do, a pass word etc.' .
-
Need, or did do, a pass word etc. to access the results etc. etc. Can't understand that, and never have really, how can one pop in to see just how well the mates did!!! I personally, and am a member, believe that all results, and the sections placing open to everyone. Even fanciers abroad like any other decent site!

Full Provisional List up on the BICC SITE.

Like you say Rose, it has never happen to me. I sypthahise with you, but till it does, I will be gratefull. Once it happens I will fetch and take birds where ever regardless where to, or how far. I've met many a nice fanciers like that. Up to a hundred miles - or more if Joyce and I fancy a day out - I retrieve my birds any way, or make a gift. The odd time I haven't has been when its too far realistically, or something else, like work, is in the way.

Dogs can't climb, so seen often. and our cats were the same, where you leave the kittens in the loft, they (Toms) grow up to driveother cats away, and won't touch your birds, wild birds yes of course.

Electric Fence. Can get Garden ones now that run on a small battery, two pings of the nose and the pee off for good. I have a prper one tha pings them and it is all above board and legal. Nieghbours peed of a mite but accept... as long as one don't plug it into the mains like.

Used a few times, first class. Also agree regards Bristow, sent a Email and promt back with all the gen. and birds were here very quick too, so can only be pleased. Also I'd like to say that many 'Pigeon Couriers' have started up and didn't last long. Also seen the correspondence published between the RPRA and Amtraks. very fair, and one must remember that it is a buisness and not a hobby. £27 for six birds brought from Bristol. Would cost me more to fetch. So hate to upset them because of a small %tage of mishaps... We missed them and find it not only hard, but a a pain if they weren't with us.

And hens bringing home / showing the way is so silly . Hands up any one who's hens have cme home 1st! Or together, exactly No hands up ... except his that y/b's want changing over! Was a silly notion that W/h flyers could test their hens. also so silly

When money is perceived to be the main reason, then certain sections having unfair preferences, and so little regard is given for what the actual members want, or indeed vote for, then that is normally a formula for disaster. O.K it isn’t in this case, because they know that they will swing it around, that fanciers will put ‘Racing’ their’ birds before being taken for a ride.... and ‘kidd’ themselves that next season it had better be better. It won’t be though, still ‘Personal’ whims, likes and sucking up will take preference. Still they will cling to the unfair section of Width, rather than Length in sections for instance! It has been obviously since racing started that ‘Wind’ plays her part, ‘…still make it wider boys, better for us, and more of the ‘Suckers’ money to bolster our position and ego’s eh’ So the whole shebang wants shaking up in that respect alone! Fine one can move like so many have, and buy their’ plot, their position to race! Then they too can throw the ole chestnut in the fire that it is ‘Jealousy’ motivated. Of course it isn’t, it is ‘Fairness’ motivated. Obviously one accepts that there will never be a level playing field, Fine! So lengthen the sections and bring in the breadth for starters. Let the wind decide between those already in good positions have to work a little harder to get the results between themselves. Just why should one that flies at best for a decent 'Section' place, be put into ‘Sections’ to bolster the better positioned right cross the board? I’m not jealous either, in fact I see most weeks where the ‘Better’ bird is weigh be hind. And often not even credited with a good section placing! That isn’t, nor CAN IT be right1 Just noted by the observant! At least with long sections, and less width regardless which way the wind blows each week, those meriting their place, and achievements would be seen and acknowledge as such. I have written my resignation to the NFC. Likewise a few more will be following suit. Quite a few may well also resign, but will it make a difference. Of course not! They (Committee) will just sit it out knowing full well that you will either pack up the sport altogether, or go back! They care not either way obviously. Make sure the money is in! Paid ludicrous amounts out to the Winners Best is, that in today’s realms it is so very easerly done. 20 minutes and even the best shape of all could be done… Shaped like long boats. Even sections adjusted according to the wind could be put into place with the odd button pressed that faces the Wind! That would quite simply make fairer and better racing each week in any National. Will it ever be done! No! Why…..? Well as the only answer to why is Because, I’ll tell you, because the favoured positioned won’t allow it. They don’t want to lose any advantage, unfair or not. A good flyer once said to me when I first started in pigeons. ‘Two birds flying down a street in a West wind…A loft on opposite side …. Don’t take a even a fool long to work out who will win. But to mention it, means that one must somehow be jealous of those in a favourable position. Envious, perhaps, jealous never. For we have always been a nation of ’Haves and Have Nots’ where it was the right of the more fortunate to … well take advantage of them not so fortunate!
