  1. Have a look at the Different heading too on here ... http://www.avianbiotech.com/diseases/salmonella.htm Maybe of some interes and one may gain something from hem.
  2. Well the reality is that you can eliinate overcrowding. Never heard of it when lofts were 6 x 4 and housed everything. You only ever see 'Townies' grouping closer, and they have all the room in the street ... just out of pecking is the oder of te day.
  3. What is over crowding! t is just a lame crutch for poor management, and sometime for the unforeseen. Never seen yet - whether wild or in loft - where they don't crowd naturally, and are more content and fitter, more competative for it. So that's a no no. Just seen you post Jimmy as I am writing... 100% correct, and all keen as mustard to jump into the 'Top Fancied' perch. Inbreeding and loss of natural element of their ability is obviously top of the list ... but folks like the fancy Paper and think it add to their worth... don't add much to it when the birds pee off.
  4. £5,000 x 5 = £25,000 x 5 = £125,000, nah that can't be right.... It would seem far more viable to purchase it ... or would it, be nice to know before we suss it out on the AGM sheets.but we had a few mor than 5 racess ... But then again one can't go on last seaons figures as it was less than this seasons obviously... Yes of course I will get on, am a fully paid up member till the AGM!
  5. Too much inbreed dreeding ...
  6. Ouch, sharp intake of breat h... how so very true... and I meant 'Yes there is a thought Ribble... Perhaps it woulsd be wiser to ask why they DON'T send! ofcourse. Now another bone of contention ... Only Hire / Leased this new transport for 7 Years! Now that makes one think Why, to what advantage, and do theythink A. It won't last longer than SEVEN seasons? That it will be cheaper in seven year? Or they will have 3 times as many members (or more) to sprad the cost between. Inded WHY din't they purchase it! Also makes me think that seven years down the line I/WE are going to have another hefty bill to pay.... And a darn lot of fewer members. And one says 'Constuctive ritasimn... and don't knock!
  7. All P.c. carry an individual no that can only aply to one P.c.
  8. Welcome Popeye
  9. Yes there is a thought Ribble... Perhaps it woulsd be wiser to ask why they send! And they still pay the dues, so thats a fair bit of dosh for nowt ... or for just being a member. Three things at least now to think about without even raising an eyebrow.... Bet they may well be the first to walk ... at great cost!
  10. Me I'd never have any gaps betwee wals, sheets of wood etc. There are a haven for mice. Now a sheet of between everything... no gaps is cool ... they can't, like rats gnaw through glass. Must be flush. Remember my fathers loft concrete floor ... glass was placed throughout the lot!
  11. Well DAFRA maintain that the ONLY worry regards pigeons and Avian Flu is them carrying the virus on their feet. Also that wind / open air kills it! As they are reviewing their stance after the autumn season, isn’t it time a case was put to them! Everyone should AA. Post their MP… MEP is out of jurisdiction – and then lobby the RPRA for a PR firm. Other than that we are in the laps of … DAFRA.

    member rating?

Nice to know how one would rate an Alias lol. Personally I think the whole idea is ludicriss... So it wouldn't bother me whether it was minus 10 lol.
  14. Yes I believe that as a fact Mick ... and yes I always - unfortunately sometimes lol - Back my gob. So yes without a moment’s hesitation I'd stand. Right, wrong good or bad I'd be counted though. I have a friend that is a bit obnoxious to say the least - great natural flyer - and the times he has steer a fed back onto an even keel is well known. NOT LIKED FOR IT ... PERHAPS SECRETLY he is. So as I have no need of friends, or worry about losing any I'd stand. Because I believe of cure is a bitter pill to swallow, and may well be that it would make one unpopular. And further you can bet your bottom dollar as soon as plain sailing is achieve, creeps would / will get back on the band wagon, where the Corridor politic, and back slapping ego’s and feathering nest would start all over again. I’d be pushing no stop for starters that a program other than Channel racing to be put up, and held to if voted in. Sennon Cove would be placed back in the Joke box. West Ireland / Boat liberations would have to be put forward as well as a North Rd. But the first and main thing is / would be to HOLD the membership together so that if and when Channel racing is next available the club would be in a position to implement it straight off with MEMBERS! Secondly I’d push for the whole structure of the ‘Sections’ to be altered. Simply, instead of the diabolical and unjust WIDTH of the sections, I’d ask for the logical LENGTH to be looked at. West in wind I find it UNBELIEABLE that we were nearly forced to have a 150mile width. It is far too wide even now. I’d like it to be that those of us… and there’s a lot, who fly for Section placing with a wing and a prayer that one day there will be ‘No Wind’ let alone a favourable wind when our birds are in tip top peak condition and can beat the rest in a section to win a National. After all it is those that are supporting those with their shekels. All money’s to be added and divided equally to each section?… Now that would have the professional moaners out. But why should those that have no chance of winning the big one, time after time put money into the coffers of those in better locations?! The prestige of winning means they can sell their birds ad that is what most go for now. Now the con of sprint racing has well and truly been sussed and most realise they were being used. Lib points should be over Paris or more westerly! We can’t alter the wind, but adjusting the sails might help a bit. So I guess my offer will will fall on deaf ears when my name goes into the hat lol.
  15. And a lot more cock birds sent! Canadian Shield all sections and race were won by hens. Look at the Bicc, the MNFC, NFC... the writing is there to be seen, and plenty of hens winninghard and distance races... % wise hens are proven to take all the beating in hard / distance races.
  16. Yes Mick there may well be a better way of sorting it out! Give us a clue. Knocking for the mere chance to be noticed, or for the hell of it may well be detrimental you ALL clubs and the Sport in general. So how does one change the attitude, blatant disrespect to its members? How does one go about sorting out the whole shebang of 'Bully for us and tough on them' attitude? How does one stop an organisation putting up it's birdage by £2 on the day? How does one go about stopping the crass nonsense of member’s votes being accepted, then held in disregard and change by committees - like the program for instance? That has happen a hell of a lot in the past too! So how if not to voice it! Never mind about 'Behind Closed doors'... too much of that already, say publically one thing and doing just as they please when the time comes. So surely Mick ALL committee members should be held accountable to their actions, and shown public ally when they say one thing then vote another, or instigate / help change what the members have / had voted for! It is, besides being disrespectful, called taking the P'! You, the committee know what the members are moaning about. Never mind about laying blame at the feet of the Avian Flu, that hasn't been the caused of any of the above! Loss of their’ honour and respect! What has that got to do with the 'Avian Flu'? Likewise the mentioned above and much more it has nothing to do with 'Avian Flu', so let's not start making that a crutch to lean on. Yes it has impeded Channel Racing, not the cause of committee members losing integrity!
  17. Anonymity is fine! The fact that some aren't sure of themselves and what hey say is the problem. Are they a 'Name', 'will I look foolish’? ’But I don’t know who they are’!!! It is the main reason too why Anonymity' is attacked ... and why many in 'Packs' attack, for moral support and what they are lacking. Their’ main argument of 'They are hiding behind...’ is rubbish, and just a lame excuse to cover their arses. If the posts are good and worth reading, impart a fair view then fine, if not one has lost nowt, for it is the same as those that use their own names, you may agree, or disagree. So personally I see it as a good thing for they may not post otherwise for many reasons! So the 'KNOCKERS' ought to get some courage and either post in good faith and not worry who is reading. There are many named posters on here, and whether they are anonymous or not are fine, for they are here! Now if it's Fred Boggs name or P. Dordin, who cares, it's what is actually said that matters.

Best time is go outside of your area and buy 'LateBreds' about now! Preferablely Grandchildren of the birds that have done well. sons / daughter if not flown well are also a very good buy as they can't command a price, but breed well. Don't forget you will need an out cross constantly regardless the myths of Line Breeding. Just look at the loses compared to days gone by... will show why 100's are bred to compansate their losses. 12 pairs to breed and race from is plenty and thats to compete in all racs , even two raods! Better to lose a ird than add a perch. Bad pigeons - as we class to what we want - eat just as much as a good one... and it is far far easier to attend and look after propr 20 birds than 70! You will note that small lofts have a better % of good birds obviously than a big loft. Get to know the birds and their capabilties and you will gain confidence that 80% the time you are right! Never mind the odd one that slips through the net. Not many loft get 4/5 different winners, and a loft of 20 is just as easy to have as a 100. HeAlways look at the result sheets and listen to him at or near the top... listen also to him at the bottom... saves time when discarding his ways! lol.
  19. Hens have prove far the best on any distance / trials and test of late ANYWHERE! Seen he odd cock bird win a distance or hardish race, but becoming the oddity rather than the norm. Just look at the results... and obviosly it seems that the hen's again are mostly on the Natural.
  20. I didn't see the letter in the BHW etc. - personally don't care less either - but I'd defend any one’s right to voice their' opinion, whether I agree or not. Bully for you Mick. I for one say great, good on yer. As to the content I again care not, you spouted what you feel, obviously, to be right and stood up to be counted. As for professional moaners, the BHW was saturated with wet letters when forced by F & M to go East... And a lot of nonsense and untruth and body blows were aimed and hit home unfairly then. Wished a few had the common decency to have said a few truths in defence and defiance of the spoilt brats that whinged. Rather Smiley I feel on this occasion you would be better to voice your own opinions - if you have any, than meddling in a verbal punch up between two able bodies, than taking sides... yes take a side and voice an opinion. Many lives were lost and destroyed for the right of Freedom of speech, and whether one agrees with it or not, any and al should defend that right. Good on yer Mick. P.s. and Mr Stadden is surely big enough and ugly enough to spout back if he so desires... as he proved when writing in the first place!
  21. Entered some races... won a little like. Had only day birds a couple of times like. Only have a few now. ( 8 pair tops, and two retired ones. Never bothered to go short ones. Didn't train above 4 times total either, so was more than pleasd really ... I tried the controlling on feed alone. Works good, and has many merits - But of course I will be Glad when the 'Savoy' loft is down... houses 100's if not 1000's of birds just 40yards away. I never bothered again to race y/b's, but will next season as I will actually breed quite a few for a change. Been holidaying a couple times or so abroad, which plays havoc with the racing, also as you know, if I work Evenings, seems no one, but no - one will actually take me birds... yes the promise of course, till they are asked... then .... Best one was Joe's who says just leave them... Wife won't allow and Joe won't be back from the Pub till 7 lol. after 3 times I gave up... But of course he is only too pleased to help lol. But am cutting back me work and....
  22. Seems to me that Natural is more than holding it's own. But I believe that it is the Health and condition of the birds... never mind the buzocks. I also believe that is part and partial of ALL ingrediants, like Contentment, love of home, incentives, motivation etc. All are needed to be a part as a whole to be healthy, and conditioned.
  23. I know that if I'd own Shegar... it wouldn't have won the Derby... a few rides on the beach at a £1 a time lol. Unless spent time with a Fancier and learnt the trade.... But if that was / is the case then advice wouldn't be necessary I guess.
  24. Hope you Jo and all are well John.
  25. I am doing well Mucker, golly have a job to lose me sayings eh lol!
