I don't think your Ben, hi Stuart, I may be going senile but when the NFC members were first allowed to vote on racing in the Internationals,DAX lost the vote...BARCELONA got through, but to my utter dismay, the members voting rights were ignored, what a shame,Barcelona basketing on our doorstep never happened, and i well understand the NFC comittees thoughts, simply because the NFC lose money at PAU,and Barcelona would have crippled their finances. As for Dax being a International many members on the English South coast do not even fly 500 miles, what a joke ,how can you class that,it will be getting to the stage when some comedians start stating theMNF,UNC,actually are Nation races jUST look at the Section winners being adertised a 1National 680 North Section lol Golly got dab hands at it ain't they. The Belgiums socked it to us Gullible ones for years, now 'Feathet Merchants' are advertising what put the Belges to shame lol. 7th Section 318 worded as a National winner from a combine racng lol.

Why do I believe that the RPRA should have, and use it! Well the way I see the sport going, and it will be upon sooner tan one thinks, is ‘Corporate One Loft Races’! These will be run and governed by ‘Pigeon Folks’ of course. Then the Race will also incorporate a satellite of Member clubs, which in turn will be the clubs and Federation Races. Likewise … for instance now, al clubs should be in a Federation, then Amalgamation and then Combine and a NATIONAL every week. These proposals are / will be beneficial and cost effective over the broad aspect. Likewise Corporatism will / would incorporate point and league tables… likewise of course compete in BOTH Nationals and internationals. And the quicker we get our heads out of the sand and get a PR firm the better!

A voice of realism Mark! Very true.

Seen it in action, both abroad and here - when being tried out for the RPRA - and must admit it has very few if any downers... outside of the main one. People will leave the sport. And don't give the crap that if they want to leave they will any way, for though that is true, that doesn't answer the realistic point that MANY WILL leave because of the ET. See the burnt a loft down in ... Bet you unless you have round the clock guards your Et might not well work! There are many reasons why they will leave, but the reality is NOT whether it is factual or not! by whether but how it is PRECIEVED to be! And many don't perceive it to fair, - which it isn't if you have one and I don't... And don't talk about penalty clauses... they might (Doubtful) work for a season... but then the cry would be 'Why penalise me.... if they want one they can have one.... So the young man with a mortgage and two kids is struggling, so what, I did... yes but the club could or some one would lend you a clock. Now the young wife is already peed of with the cost so far... and he wants to spend... when the Kids, and the house, or there is so much more to pay ... Many more leaving ... or not starting. I'd love one, but as I've yet I'd vote no, because every member is precious to us at the moment, so I still feel it isn't quite the time. And John, whether the RPRA uses the ET or not, isn't going to keep our member or lose our members. It is good that the RPRA uses one too, which I'll post why later.

That is true Rose As you know my birds fly both ways and I find if anything the South to be easier. But having said that it upon the day / wind etc. how well one does... and the competition of course. I did a gig for the North Road club this last Saturday ... and just the prior two days I was trying to remember the Lerwicke Race.... Knew I had send 6 ... 3 to each Club, but just couldn't recollect the race or the day at all.... Was reminded hat I was only day birds.... It rounded of a nice night lol. But it was many things as I recall back in the late 60’s early 70’s - beside the ugly head of Jealousy and of trying to find a club to win in - 1. The more affluent flyers wanted to have sprint and money races... which meant they needed some sheep to fleece. Hence baloney and good fibbing prevailed which in turn destroyed many clubs. Many didn't have a North Rd. club left here. Some of us, when the clubs were folded couldn't get into another Club. Same clubs then shut up shop not allowing any in at all, not new comers in even... Then those that hadn't gone South straight off had to leave the sport or just fly Nationals! The ‘Talkers’ are always popular - no matter how detrimental they have and still are to clubs, they seem to thrive and are in many clubs. The Trains closing curtailed a lot of the normal working class's ability to be able to get them up the road.... So a ploy was these new South Rd Clubs promise that they would lay on transport ... Bet many remember.... And them next season didn't, turning out to be just a ruse. I remember carrying baskets of birds for a 1/4 of a mile only to find ‘They’ had gone... or told to come back later... couldn't leave the birds as the Dogs were out and would upset them! Then would even wait at the given point, say a round about only to see them coming back. So many birds had to rely on 'Works' places or to be taken by lorry drivers etc. This was causing the rank and file to be leaving in droves. NRCC was blatantly just using the inland flyers as fodder to raise money for the East Coast Boys! Midland National NORTH Rd. only went for three seasons, so they had their cake and ate it every year. The final insult was when the NRCC put D ETC with the Lowestoft boys, Norfolk geees, and wondered why we bucked! their crap that it only got through with one vote was irrelevant NO DECENT person would have proposed it. Neither should it have been seconded let alone carried... Just so they could father their pockets with section prize money. Many Sections just fly for the Section Places as well most know. These areas have 3/4 Winners out of all the Classics and Nationals over the last 120 odd years.... Don't need a rocket scientist to work out that Locations place a big part. Never mind 'It has Happen''' of course it did, and will again I've no doubt, but one must be realistic. This is just of course just the tip of the ‘Iceberg’ but one thing for sure is that one needs now to be rallying around and DOING soothing to hold the clubs together. If that means swallowing a bitter pill until it passes through so be it! For History has shown the facts… and a fool learns by his own mistakes, a wise man by others’ . Another reality is regardless of all the chatter otherwise is ‘If fanciers don’t fly, they get disenchanted, and soon find other hobby’s to do… and pack up. So I say ‘It don’t matter, for now, where they fly from, as long as they are able to fly a fair distance, they will put up it till things are back to norm. If not many will leave, and every time one leaves COSTS go up to be shared by the ones remaining, which means more leave which means….

I believe any demolition site has - if you're early enough - has great Mature timber, flooring etc. and most only want a drink if your going to take it away. First 4 lofts of mine were all like that. Last two, before this one, was a lot of wood... new.
-
Whoops 30 miles or more lol... yearlings yes lol But I know two great flyers that never went, not ever over 20 miles, with young or old birds. And that was enough to go into any race upto 150 miles and then of course a couple of them and they will go anywhere. I also believe this.
-
Liked Blackjacks views, and go along wholeheartedly with Darren and Bruno. I only use what I am compelled to use, and sparingly if case really means my Birds - as to bird for that may well be gone - need assistance.

Yes... and race them 50 miles ... I believe in all serenity that you should instigate the 'Street Races' again. For it was, and could well be great fun again! Kids and all the family was able to watch and participate. Who knows you might get such an influx of interest - and why not? ! - That your club, and surrounding club would prosper when races of over 00 miles and channels are allowed again. Or just dream of what you WANT! Whilst burying realism and refuse to face facts. If you can't cross the Channel - though I believe we have a good chance- but if you can't then all the sulking, lip pouting like a spoilt brat won't matter a toss... let alone a real race. Also don't blame the North for being too hard for you to fly, many prefer the easier South route for that reason alone too. Get some birds that can handle it! Stop getting inbred and out cross good stock... bet you would see the difference straight off. Why may well be that you'd get kicked out from flying South as you had better bird.... I'll take me tongue out now lol.

Alzheimer's Test- Count the "F's" in the following text: FINISHED FILES ARE THE RE- SULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTIF- IC STUDY COMBINED WITH THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS. (see below) Managed it? Read the next part only after you have counted them, okay? Counted them? Okay how many? Tell me then!

Seems that the only certainty facing the NFC is that IF THEY don't fill their ‘Transporters’ they will have a Mill Stone around their necks cost wise at least, and the more that leave the heavier the stone will get! That’s a realistic fact …. Surely? Now the two simple realistic things are, as far as I can see.1. Whether or not they were silly last season or not is irrelevant! Which needs to be quickly put behind them? 2. They need to put forward a trustworthy programme(s) for next season and stick to them! Was always told to have two strings to the bow! If North meant keeping the club, and a high percentage together. meant that if need be North was went to save the day till later, then so be it. Personally I also believe that MFC. etc. etc. should be BACKING Peter Bryant, and further should have had a professional mouth piece and a Think Tank already in Place... namely a P.R. firm. But of course whilst the senile bickering about Peter should 'Adapt' and be Cook, bottle washer and kitchen cleaner, then it is an uphill fight. Yes I believe that there is a very good chance of Channel racing next season, as long as vote catching doesn't follow any Flu outbreaks. But for Gordon Bennett’ sake surely time is too much of the essence to be piddling and shilly - shallying around. That will drive a wedge and drive the NFC club and others to the wall quicker than anything. Needs to be in place NOW! Or the AGM will be for a few only. Many will have resigned any way and watch how things develop and say the will rejoin if.... But when they have already joined another club it will quite naturally be 'Well I've join ***** now, so will see how it goes this season ... and the rope will already be TAUNTED and the NFC hung it's self! Oh yes and the need to tell some truth … at least to gain some lost respect… and would ‘Sticking to what the members have voted for’! be a bit cheeky …. Likewise the stated price per bird stays just that… the price agreed to before hand!
-
Makes me smile... 20, 000 from different nations and that is supposedly downed to a semi ... When Part of, or a Section of a Nation win, and many not even recognised as Nations are freely touted to Be 'NATIONAL' winners by flyers in this country and advertised as such on the Selling adverts - which is another amazement as they haven't no birds to sell till the year dot etc. - AS national winners, and many flock behind with bated breathe hanging onto every morsel of ficticious twaddle! I should co coa!
-
I still say. as I have for 20 years, that clubs instead of just disbanding, or forming a New route, that it is most sensible - in my view - to have ALL routes available under one roof... North or South or Both on any Race Night being available. Instead of the silly Follow the good talker and burn bridges needlessly! JMO
-
GROVEHOMER and if 'I won't be flying with the NFC if they go north, I'm only interested in the channel events'. meand that you can't fly East South etc. are you prepared to sit and watch your birds do nowt! Or just breed needlessly? or pack up! Do as you may, I believe that too many may make that an hasty option without comtemplating the consequences. Better by far to fly where I am not 100% happy than not Fly at all I feel#. But there again everyone to their own.
-
So you should be... estatic I should think ... By it golly only happens every other 30 years or more... make the most Of it. Who Knows one day they might qualify for the World cup again. P.s sorry thought I'd better not mention ..... when the scots moaned we only beat Holland 4 nil when 6 nil would have let them through the back door like lol
-
Just clean out throughly and dry off, getting rid of that sour smell for starters, and they won't breathe so heavy either when flying out. Dry and airy works wonders.
-
Simply too much inbreeding and line breeding without crosses. I realise that many don't even know the concept, or the proper way that Inbreeding or line breeding works... indeed unfortunately many don't even know the difference between the two. That is one reasons our losses clutter up our towns and buildings....
-
Fish do. Like the Mubuna (Rift valley lakes) you can control the off spring too by hardening or softening the water. The Community fish like Guppys / sword fish especially will breed then if need be change sex. Gully's are - like some others are born pregnant, and their young too... so 3 generations if need be are safe guarded.
-
Glad to save my money too!

I believe no pigeon ever produced anything any good until crossed. And I also agree 100% with Rose ... Lookat the day and the velocities to see if they merit their perch'. unquote: I personally believe 500 + milers are two a penny and it has to be an inferior bird that can't do it. Never had any birds EVER that haven't done or produced birds that fly 550 miles, on the day, depending... had only day birds in club this season, yes must have been stiffish races... But none will rear their own young this coming season, because though many flew 3 x 500 + milers in 4 weeks, and after a 400 nigh, others birds beat them! So their’ constitution and health is fine obviously... they just aren't going to set a trail ablaze... or even a foot path. The main difference from sprinters to middle distance and real distance is sending them! Fit healthy and prepared for the distance it will entail. Different strokes for different courses obviously play a part… FULL STOP!

Mine too .... you won't far wrong with him guiding anyone. One of the elitists without doubt! Yet overall as a Stockman / Racer peerless without a doubt! Heads, if not shoulders, above any one else worldwide I believe, like many more. Yes there are contemporises, but they falter on one or the other compared to Bussecheart. Even his sister held her own in Belgium. Yet how he just knew what would produce what when paired with such and such was a class act of the highest order, indeed unparallel. Yes throw the names, bandy them around… but every other needed another sauce to be successful, either as a Racer, or as a producer of a strain. Makes me smile when I see names banded about of some feat / breeding performances of to – day! Remember also the world is smaller today. Others methods and years experience easily access and knowledge gained that somewhat I believe deters from many’s natural affinity, basic instincs.
-
PAULO u asked which other countries they flew well in? i believe Wales .Scotland , and Ireland fanciers all done well with them ! Bussecheart was devastating in BELGIUM... both before coming here to set up his carpet business... flew still in his brother - in - laws name... then went home and set record after record. Seems the belges disliked him and just hate giving him the credit he deserved... But many of his records are still unsurpassed there... and here. Like first 18 etc. Kent Fed.... 1st three etc. in big races Belgium.... have to try and sort out his amazing Belgy feats... when I have a week to spare lol... but seriously will have too! I rate Bussecheart, then Mozzarella then the Old man Janssen as stockmen unbelievable, and in that order. Logan of course was also a great pioneer.
