Any thing left - intensionally - for the birds seems to be good, as they know what is what and how much, and when they ned it.... But of course dont know what we have in store for them. Never really thought about it, but unless poorly and puffed up etc. I have never ever seen birds on the natura system, when not flying, chasing another bird... they are picking at any and every thing.

And Linnels have now agreed to repair them.... wouldn't be cheap I'd wager, but ...

Let's face it 350 miles is in reality hardly more than a 'Sprint Race' and a blow home in a favourable wind. then upto 550 miles is a decent middle distance.... after this then the true racing / feats / endurances / tests, the birds of metal, tested and proved, the ones to build a formidable team at ANY distance on, and of course this includes the sprints.... just system alterations.

I'd send them all.... if it is a case of none are healthy or fit enough, then you would say NONE... if on the other hand, all seem good enough, then it' be a good little wing opener for them.

Two parts, both about 15 wide by 12 deep... this is if you wish to have more than two rounds. Mine are 12 inches square, and I only have one round, another for late breds most season. The reason for the extra room is that on a rare accasion the cock bird when drivinng the hen back to nest can become intolerant of the young and wants them out the way... and may peck and scalp them ... but the young should have been away before perhaps. Mine deffinately are ... But every one to their own. Many cock birds if overpowering or allowed will try and comadere all the nest boxes.... So a foot square with a empty one closed of and then open will work too. But in the real world, the ideal nesting is just shelving and bedding, and the floor. They thrive better, race more ardently or course, and are more happy, hence the first part needed, Contented!

Mind I do know a sure way to be a winner!!! Just beat everyone else's entries, simple that.... cough now everyone in future that wins...

It is when exerted that they use Muscles as Heat units, after the starch, fat etc. has been exhausted. I stay well away from Electrolyte after any exertion at all ... so would use it if given me.

Simply when the fat, or whatever other sauce is burnt, then the Birds bun their muscles. Toxin quickly sets in, and the worst scenario s forced fying! Leave them be, 3 peanuts and say Molasses in the water and rest...

Argueably the best Fancier in the world! I see that China has a very competative 2800 K race! That is 1700 odd miles. They doing well, but are fortunate in being able to fly them all inland. But crdit where credit is due. Remember that the late great Frankie George bought and sold to china in the 50'.... Wagon loads literaly... Railways.

Ideas & Theories look under Eye Sign' would be a good place to start.... unde a proper heading too .... it's helps prevent boring the *expletive removed* off those not interested. Indeed am really suprised it is allowed tp stay so long, let at all on this site topic! Been on two really good 'Pigeon Chats where nigh every topic has been ruined ot blighted by the 'Eye Theory' taking over.... do hope this site won't go the same way. The 'Eye Theory' becomes like a cancer / or Canker completely ruined any and evey topic by some idgut say the usual 'Ah but ....; with the EYE THOUGHT' BALONY you can .... cobblers. Every thing should be allowed an airing, and a time and place.... preferably where the appropiate slot has been allocated for it!

Be careful because the birds use their claws to grip the tail feathers when flying, and u will make it not only hard work for them, but also very tiring!
-
Yep ... But you will, like me and many others, keep doing and say 'Never Again'.... it's how we are...

Never allow any East wind breeze to flow into my loft.... drag over the top of course, but, What! Let them havean East! Never, they hate it and there really is no need for it. JMO

tskyes a two edge thing, if lost you get the reporting to you.... then when coming well, he'll want to transfer tem, untill then not much you can do. out of 20 say 2 or 3 are god... He'll have to be real good though else he wont bother and just breed from them. I'd transfer the rings before the eggs have hatched in future, if there is another time...

Urgent assistance - sick bird
Roland replied to kerry1971's topic in Help - What's wrong with my bird?
me! Well I'd plonk three peanuts down it's throat - if it didn't take them readily- ... than a small little worm. Rest with a little honey in it's water. Mollassess is also cool. -
... providing the club/organisation has the required equipment and the officials are competent and willing to use it.

Just a comment, Have heard the sayings too that the North is easier. I fly both, and have found the South far far easier and more consistantly so than the North Rd. I believe it all started as a Jest to entice the North Roaders to fly the South Rd, which has had some success. As for being harsh, I would say that also has meit, possibly 'Blunt' I would feel in hindsight a beter discription. But it is what makes our hobby so ardently participated in, the highs and the lows... But often feel that we look for conmissieration at the wrong point when venting our frustrastions. And all the 'Hind thoughts and 'If Only;
