Black Mail Bruno ... because one speaks the reality eh! Nothing like the low down sneaky way of contriving to push it through, but then that is fine I guess. I'd have one tomorrow like a shot if there was a sensible 15 seconds allowance to thoses - for whatever reason(s) - didn't, couldn't have one. No not blackmail, but good honest reality and in the very essence os sportmanship, which sadly is thrown out of the window when the 'Can have' smell an avantage ovet tha 'Can't or Won't haves! hat Yes my post smacks not only of fairness, but at the very fundemental way of pushing forward and getting an amiacable end to resolve this problem .... like the independat survey suggested. AND above all KEEPING many members flying.... a small but effective step in the very interest of our sport ( though not recognised as such - and to even benefit it! But short sightedness and greed will not allow this obviously, so the very roots will pay the price of higher racing in the not too distance future. And Bruno and all, if this is as great as you all keeping pointing out the benefits, then surely your own benefits should be secondary to the benefit of the sport as a whole. But that is not the object obviously, as likewise is the wanting of the ET. No the benefit are just a ruse to the 'Cans' to have one! Never mind the 'DCA' no one believes that for a moment!

Lol.... guss the season starts too early for us then : ;D
-
Well have the birds on 'Young Bird' mix - after a little linseed first - and they are moulting superbly and flying great. Must auger well for next season.
-
And first off offer and pay for all the club expenses, GIVEN of course in the knowledge and fact that you can't, won't AND SHOULDN'T EXPECT ANY REFUNDS IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM ... FOR THAT WON'T HAPPEN. Mind if the 'Fairness' of allowing non ET clocks the mere respect and 15 seconds allowance, then of course this agaoin wouldn't be a problem. Still, out side of me and one other - on this site - no one is in agreement, because they want their and cake and eat it!
-
Now another slice many can't seem to grasp... What if the Fed are willing or able to use it, and further CAN'T afford it... likewise the clubs, does one really expect not users / or anti user to vote for, let alone PAY for it to be set up! ? Get real here, Form ET clubs only... but before one does, make sure that the fed will be ABLE and WILLING to do so ... seems to me that that won't happen either. The three clubs I am in has in total just two interested... or not afraid to ask and voice their oppinion. 50 odd members. If they allowed a rule - that couldn't be altered, or ever changed - saying 15 seconds less first bird and 5 seconds there after most clubs would have the ET's sailing through ... but they won't do that becausethe simple reality of the majority of pro ET brigade want it for every advantage they can muster. Never mnd about the bird having to sly the race ... at 1760 per minute a bird can, and often could be, a quater of a mile behind and still win... never mind the long term future of better trapping because of Trap shyness!

Been there matey ... tjhis thread has nowt to do with that old potato!
-
Fine ... means all will resign from present and form a club where any one that needs a ET woulddn't be voted in I guess.
-
Just wire the place and plug into the electric mains! Or buy a electric Fence, no raccoons. My mate in Canada has same trouble with Raccoons and weasels.... I wouldn't! But Raccoons are crafty and vicous, and do / will return every night. Good luck.
-
Yes Canada can too ... and the clock would supposedly sort out first bird in clock if popped in together.
-
Yep and something THEY never get immuned to! Same as I say Porridge Oats or such! Same go's for mice!!! And like I say also ideal inside a pipe!
-
Said this times - the answer always being 'Too late for y/b racing! I don't agree with this though and feel that young bids could start later OR the same and have two races same day, many of us do. Same clock could be used too ....
-
Nice, but there are a lot more great / good eyes than pigeons I'd wager!
-
Agree with your sentiments ... but not the man on moon bit...

'............Condition,contentment and control. You wont go far wrong...' Well in the right order I certainly agree. and Contentment has to be first to acheive anything after, I believe...

RPRA RULES . SO ALL OF YOU ALLEGED VICTIMS OF THIS SO CALLED PREDITOR STAND UP AND BE COUNTED UNDER RPRA RULES AND GET THIS GUY BROUGHT TO BOOK. OR STOP CRYING ABOUT IT. Spot on ... believe it has to go to regional section first.... But doubt if the RPRA will owt... still if it is simple and not to much effort needed, and straight forwar, say class in the same vein like 'Defaulters' then yes they will sort it out! If not whistle!

Pearls of wisdom.... too many fret needlessly, too many look for 'Bad Signs' and react with a knee jerking syndrome. 90% odd are just sniffling triffles that are every day occurrences. But bottom line that we need could strong and reliable constitution birds to build a loft upon, and indeed race. If the odd one get poorly and the rest don't it is mainly that ALL have contacted the same ailment, but the constitution is better than the ones showing up! No always, but a blumming good %tage. Twice when others don't....!
-
Best left in Pipes aside lofts / buildings, as rats, and mice for that matter, hardly ever, if ever pass up the chance to enter them. Of course set well inside and too small for a pigeon enter.

Nothing to gain by not staying natureul in todays, indeed natural dominate most and especially on hard days and at the dstance. So i'd suggest learn that well first, tinker with both widowerhood hens and cocks - hens done proper are always more genuine, again especially on hard days and the distance. Just look at the last few years of the Nationals and big concerns and see how the hens dominate, and read up and see the 'Natural results they are gaining. Our fed is also dominated by natural.... Good luck and don't over think!

I'd go for a cock bird 98% certain.

Old hat that Tammy, don't you believe it. Many do it 3 times in a year now! From 2 weeks onwards.

That will do for me ... for starters gal you can't ask anymore. Plenty of rest and contentment and Have no doubt she will shine next year. Certainly hope so. Had a young hen land on my landing board once. Both legs severely shattered. But such was her endeavour to home and get in I spent time with her,m sellotaped her legs up with match stick splints and hand fed her. Thought that is the spirit I want from my birds to get home and she'd be a good stock hen. ... Was like her family a bad trapper, and would have won a few *** like her kin if trapped. The blood is no longer in my loft. Was told, incidently when I chose her and parentage that they would fly great but would never be able to train / change the trait of being bad trappers. But as they were cracking looking, and proved to be great racers, I never ever got on of the kin to trap. Home well from anywhere too. I tried every trick and kindness in the book, but like To Robinson told me.... 'They will never trap' and he certainly taught me a lot, a very good and knowleadgeable fancier was / is he. From Scarborough if any one knows of him. Yes his other birds flew well for me...

I go into the loft on basket night, and obviously the ones still there can do the distance. Then I wait for the wink and look for the eye liner. Nice in hand then they go. Simple as that. Never ever bothered about strain or whatever, I am only interested in the distance races, and as they are mostly on natural, I expect them to home. How fast is the question one has to set a bird for. I personally - outside of rare weather etc. and can then get disorientated - firmly believe that birds don't get lost. They are either sent not conditioned for the race - bad managerment - or just decide to no come back for whatever reason. Hence it is harder to lose contented naturual birds that widowerhood etc.

Barley and wheat at our local sauce is still £3 odd.

Keep as often as possible to the small seeds... And a little canary seed once in a while works wonders as a conditioner. Maples is a good stble base.
