They have always exchanged without any fuss. But 3 months is too long I feel. Do they know that.... can't see personally - outside of being miffed - how you can expect them to change it after three months, besides it may well be steeped in good blood that may very well throw great racers!
  2. Dogs can't climb and cats quicly learn this. Also heaven help any dog when a cat decides to drop on it's back and claw at it's eyes. Further, besides the bloomng cheek to believe that any one can just open a door and give nieghbours a problem is just that. Cats don't have the right to roam. That is a myth and the owners are RESPONCIBLE for any damage ( Garden / flowers / rhubarb etc. they foul up or etc.) and especially any persons animal / bird they injure or kill!
  3. Yep and legal. Even the cheapo one from Garden centres and the like.... Just do a search for 'Electric fencing' and it is very cost effective.
  4. Seems at least 5000, and posiblely 10,000 birds to be culled.... Can't understand for the life of me how it can be either this or that! It is either ALL or Nothing I'd have thought.... unless just eistimating the birdage... and or Heading News or sale topics.
  5. Ours volenteered off his own back to take a drop in his salary. Likewise the transporter, even though he no longer flies a pigeon. These are great folk, and are a credit, and well appreciated. Likewise the president who takes the club's tranporter and tosses them .... FOR free twice a week! Only petrol being taken from the cost of birds sent at 25p a bird!
  6. Should tell them to send via Amtrax lol ;D

    distance races

0 to 1, depend sex, expierence and age, and of course nest circle. 1 or 2 50 mile tosss and watch a hen on 14 day eggs go. other wise any amount. The most important thing is loft fitness.
  8. Yes like Me I also read a great article of a fancier that became a great name AFTER he adoppted this method .... 'Only those wanting to be here enough wil be bred from' any report he made a present of them... And the rest is history as they say.
  9. Timbarra exactly .... hence why one can do so very well will 'racing only and correct feeding' like Ricky Mardis did so very well.
  10. An impossible wager, of course, and one that was never intended as such. The simple reality is that there are countless good eyes, and very many great eyes and yet only in real terms a only a small pecentage of them are good racers / breeders and only a small handful of great racers or breeders. Admitted there is also the equation of the 'Manager' of the birds / both as racers and 'Stockman' which is of the utmost importance. And then 'Some see in a minute what others never see in a life time'. Though again one must equate that many further down the field, yet close in velocities are also good or great birds... let alone the ones 'Great on the day' but through various reasons due to weather / location etc. etc. are 'Unnamed' greats. But all added together over the season, winners are far fewer than losers, and over several seasons of course the differential increases.
  11. Like also the 'Fish Tank ... could have a breeding pair in there ... The wire cage with a hole at top, with a sauspan shape wire inside that stops them being able to fly or CLIMB out is a very easy and effective way of curbingpercy's antics....

    Soil??

Charcoal is th stuff ... when a bird pecks and missis tye peas etc. Charcoal is the cure. Yep coal is goo and has certain benefits too...
  13. Roland

    Soil??

Yes. Also who was it that worked where the quartz if plentiful?
  14. Roland

    Soil??

Yep I used to do that too. It is for the mineral content that molehills have. Seen everyday pigeons fielding for the Mineral trough for cattle and even the salt rock. Used to also be the case - before ddt etc. / spraying - when pigeons were encouraged to go fielding, for they also had a ripe full feed like. indeed was the best time to (still is) to raise youngsters in the purple. In the garden they'll eat 'Peat' none stop and or fertaliser.... whilst it has to be organic as against commerical.
  15. ;D Think some Scots smoke it like .... and confused it with Tobacco stalks ;)
  16. I think you should move here .... need your money to go towards our pensions and welfare, and the DHS of course.... so all are welcome now PLEASE!!! Our only hope was that Labour got in, which they did, and all the prayers needed that they stay in ... or at least the wolve in sheep clothing - tories- stay out lol.
  17. Simple equation, we produced the best coal in he world! Fact at £26 a ton .... needed £3 a ton to make it enviroment friendly and smoke three .... next believe it or not was germany at £56 a ton, CLEANED but the goverment subsisided that by £28 a ton Fact.... instead of substising ours by £3 a ton to keep half a million or more - in real terms over a million with knock on effects - she decided to pay them millions of pounds a week to throw them out of work! So instead of PAYING into the coffers they were taking out ... but she and friends and Co were investing overseas and making a mint. OUT of our suffering ... likewise the steel etc. etc. etc.
  18. The need is for more too! Though they pay £40 billion pounds into our coffers, we need another 3 million just to safe guard the pensions promised .... and of course soon - too soon , no one will be entitled to a goverment pension. Yes she sold of to her friends and then quit training needed posts, and still the private sectar gets more usage out of the NHS and Public raised things like Cat Scanners etc. .... Mind if private hey do at present pay twice... Thatchers devasting policies have dug in as she knew they would, and as the uncaring and unfeeling tories knew too...
  19. NNNNOOOOoooooooooooooo lol
  20. A proclaimer classic ... well perhaps not them, but the dancers eh lol : : :K) :K) ;D http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=kHjT-TEqLBs
  21. Well a lot of that could be down to your breeding schedule Steve. Though of course climate / light etc. does and can obviously play a part. Lt's face it, many still think that the Light / or Darkness system is for y/b's only where as in fact many have been for theses systems with old birds - or similar / partly for mant years now!
  22. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IGUuVQ_7ZY Now I remember why we use to laugh so much eh lol.
  23. Believe Frank was saying that the Pot of Salt was a tester as to the humidity of the loft..
