Put a few out in the sun ... in a glass cage that is... or under some razor wire... the fresh air will do both you and your birds some good.

Sections done in a realistic way so MOST fanciers have a chance of meirt being obtained and not just being used as 'Fodder feed' to bolster better positions lofts etc. for starters. 2. An East route seriously looke at. 3. Never mind the cobblers about Raptures or the ludecriss crap about 'Mountains' but in a predominately WEST in winds, about time the West coasts of Scotland was considered for better inland and West side racing. Yes Wales again may suffer a mite.... but nowhere like the NRCC / Lerwicke races of today and yesteryear. THEN Clubs could become part of Feds, in turn part of Algama, in turn part of Combines in turn part of NATIONALS EVERY WEEK! Cheaper racing, better merits and decent SECTION results.

Steve been there, likewise Allbear. Had emails from MP's and even an EMP wholike his father and grandfather kept pigeons offering all the help possible.... no oe was inteested. Most are content to sit back and sigh 'If only ...' and moan others haven't done what they BEKIEVE should have done, been done for them. Ask any fancier for a little quiddy though and not only are they excuse finding, but want to know how much extra prize money there will be, and how much will the cost of birdage be down. Yes after two meeting where the facts were laid out plain and bare for all to see, the members of a certain club iunder duress agreed that subs would have to go up via £5just to cover basic costs. Yes you guessed it, come the AGM they were swarmed with ideas how to get more and yet mre, now the extra £100 odd quiddies were raise. Several left that season too claiming it was unjust and only fair that the money went to the prize money.... Shouldn't be any prize money till any and every bill has ben paid!

http://www.virginmedia.com/news/uk/uk-story.php?storyid=16531682. is the real reason we aren't smothered with F & M.... the payments are not going to be exhorted, and the 'Gainers' know it, and have no doubt been told ... otherwise We would be suffering from the effects of that by now I have no doubt!
-
Yep we are being lead' .... up the garden path'! and soon will be left out to dry.Make no mistake about that. the RPRA Cowing cap in hand is just a proven, tried and tested, formatt no better than 'Wait and See' , 'Abide our time' scenario for never the twainwill meet. Like the Raptures and etc. unless a voice is putting forward our case WHICH might be worth a 'Vote catching' view based on real truths, then we will - and most deserve to be ' Blowing in the wind'!
-
Whilst we are at it.... The fighting fund and the RPRA doing it in stead is just a ploy as far as I am concerned! Just an appleasementno more and certainly nothing less! They know, as well as I do and you do, that they will play for time to get it to court! Then appeals by the goverment if the RPRA won the case, then again etc. till nigh 5 years are up and a new light and way forward emmerges! So all in all it is old hat being tattled! Now a PR. Firm harming an image is different - like the rapture problem - bringing the astrocitiess to the 'Voting' public's notice, and the old dears wills being misappropiated via them leaving the money - like their collection tins - to save the Garden birds etc.! THEN AND ONLY then will goverments, and RSPB take any notice! So a PR FIRM should be sought and a Tory / Back - Benchers / Lobbyist should be put into actions... and a darn sight less money and a darn sight more effective that the RPRA playing 'Tootsies with the goverment (DAFRA) AND playing us all for mugs!
-
Exactl! But that is the norm of our upbringing, throughout from being the 'Haves and have nots'. Betcha bottom dollar the french and co would have demonstrated well ... or just gone a head and told the equivalent to DAFRA to get stuffed ... like they did with their' 'Racing'. Seems the average was £800 per bird! GOOD LUCK TO HIM! But how much will this practise costur home grown boys in future, let alone yesterday!
-
Agree 100%, especially as these were imported! But aint that just the British Way' to a ! Bend over backwar to help foriegners and not our own in ALL walks of live from sport to funding!

I sell ever so often many so called Greats that are even used on here and others sites and revered, that aren't in any terms, let alone real terms, not fit to do the laces up! I sell should read 'I see ...' sorry for that! whoopsy

Frank Bristow, without a shaddow of doubt.

Vallence can't see how that is possible. Unless you want a lot high rating for the champions they've bought as to many - seriously I suppose most in this scenario - that have / or sell their birds. Indeed what is the deffinition of the 'Champion' or 'Ace' and if some of their aren't .... love to be shown where others have exceeded them and ARE champions, let alone not champions'. I sell ever so often many so called Greats that are even used on here and others sites and revered, that aren't in any terms, let alone real terms, not fit to do the laces up!

1,000 fine for feeding pigeons? N.Y. considers 'Sick and tired' councilman also wants 'pigeon czar' for war on droppings Feeding pigeons in New York City, like this man is doing in Washington Square Park, will be banned if a city councilman gets his way. What's this? New York mulls $1,000 fine for feeding pigeons NEW YORK - Put your hands up and back away from the breadcrumbs. Feeding New York City pigeons could soon be banned under a proposal to thin the flocks of the birds sometimes referred to as "rats with wings." City Councilman Simcha Felder plans to introduce legislation to ban pigeon feeding and fine those caught flouting the ban $1,000. The ammonia and uric acids in pigeon droppings can rust steel and corrode infrastructure, he wrote in a report outlining potential solutions to the pigeon problem. A pigeon excretes an average 25 pounds of droppings per year, he said. "We have pigeons doing whatever they do all over the city without anyone trying to stop it," Felder said outside City Hall on Monday. "If people like pigeons, take them into their homes, feed pigeons in your house and let them crap all over the place in your living rooms." He also suggested appointing a "pigeon czar" to orchestrate the fight, a plan that has ruffled the feathers of animal lovers. "Cities are lifeless places. People don't appreciate the fact that we have some wildlife," said Al Streit, director of The Pigeon People, an organization that rescues injured birds. Felder countered that "the fact is that people have been disgusted and annoyed." Noting that he frequently dodges pigeon droppings at his Brooklyn subway station, Felder added: "I might as well say that I'm sick and tired of it." What other cities have done In his report, Felder recommends looking at how other cities have gone about reducing their pigeon populations. London Mayor Ken Livingstone banned pigeon feeding in Trafalgar Square, closed down the official feed vendors there and brought in hawks to scare away pigeons that remained. Los Angeles has begun a trial use of pigeon birth control called OvoControl P. Venice, Italy, is trying to stop the sale of bird seed in St. Mark's Square and prevent pigeons from chipping away at marble statues and buildings. Licensed bird feed sellers do not want to go and animal rights activists have also expressed concern. And Basel, Switzerland, helped reduce its pigeon population by stealing the birds' eggs and replacing them with fakes, fooling them. New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has not endorsed a feeding ban but said at a news conference Monday that he thought the city's pigeons were a problem. "We do have a lot of pigeons and they do tend to foul a lot of our areas, and people would be better off not feeding the pigeons," he said. Attack on Chihuahua ended hawk strategy Attempts to shoo pigeons from parts of the city have had mixed results. Bebeto Matthews / AP A pigeon in his path, New York City Councilman Simcha Felder leaves City Hall on Monday after a press conference announcing legislation to ban feeding pigeons. Electrifying roosting areas under elevated subway tracks has had some success, but noise deterrents — using recordings of hawks and other predators — haven't worked as well because New York City pigeons appear to be unfazed by noise. An attempt to use hawks in Manhattan's Bryant Park in 2003 was scrapped after a hawk attacked a pet Chihuahua. European settlers brought pigeons to North America as domesticated birds; the animals that rule New York City are their wild descendants. Despite their reputation as disease carriers, the city Health Department does not consider pigeons a major danger and says the average New Yorker is not at risk of catching anything from the birds or their droppings. Hearings on Felder's plan may be called before the end of the year.

Well now the hot air has settled, ... has it taken the 'Sacred Balloon' of course and out ofthe radar map? Don't seem to see or hear much of late!? :-/

Careful Eagle, you may well be nearer the truth than many care to admit! And never mind the pooie about XMAS .... Goverment payments will far out wiegh that, and just thing of all the labour costs saved lol... etc. etc. etc.

Why? if it breeds good young then you will keep it. any way takes two seasons at least, so you should at best just curb it from breeding the year after if you ain't happy... then the following season you will know, providing the matings were good and the management too lol.

Why try and break him? If for stock, then keep him for stock! Golly never judge a book by it's cover, let alone a pigeon, for they are renowned for being.... well just pigeons! One thing for sure, a lot of good blood will be in it, and that, after all, is the essence of a good 'Stock Bird'.

11 deaths in 15 years.... hardly deadly, and they slept with their ducks and whatever. 5,000 died year before last of normal flu in this country alone... nigh same last year and probably about the same this year!Nore die every decade from abortions than WW1 and WW2 every YEAR ...

Spence I find that statement / belief hard to swallow about not throwing that colour etc. Beauseart was renowned for using any colour and many different fancier birds. Further he even mated birds from various lofts without actually ever seeing the birds.... just the performances and speaking to the owners. So that I feel is why his strain was A. so very good because of the Crosses, and be a wide variaty of colours no

Seems Allbear that you are refering to the EYE shots, wheeas I wa speaking generally.
