  1. Reads well youngzimmy. Have Bullguard at the moment .... but daren't risk the torrents and Limewire with it. In fact know it isn't strong enough though assured it is. But it got clobbered last time I was on there big time, so once bitten thrice shy eh!
  2. Not true, even in countryside Ducks do fly at night, and likewise a lot more... But agree with your post in the most part... The rockets post is so apt. ... 'this closing time and opening time of long races is a stupid rule there is only a few long distance races and are the ones we all want to win so if your not prepared to sit up through the night or even get your wife up to check loft now and again dont enter. scrap this rule . pathetic in my view'. If just one or two, besides Kipps brothers dozens, are prepared and able to fly on, then it should count. Indeed why penalise such courages birds!?
  3. And Gareth, / Hotrod, with respect even 1 hour of flight till say 11 30 is robbed. Better still, are you saying that if Some birds can and do do it that they should be penerlised? Please explain why it is faier, for I am certainly at a lose there. Futher why not leave out HOD and allow the birds their own merit and time! For surely most 400 - 450 milers are tucked up in their nest box, and the morning like you say is chilled and cold etc. So that in it's self surely is also unfair on the bird flying anothr 2- 300 miles!
  4. Not reality or truth that. The reason put forward is, and was very glib. Even tongue in cheek to be believed. It was so NO bird had time to cross the channel , to be held up ... Guess the last part as to why.... then let the truths set in. A decent middle coast bird can hop over the 22 miles odd early morning, whilst real distance birds have to fly another 2 - 300 miles or more! Their sceanario further is / was, same for all birds. And again be the SAME weather conditions for all next day! Rubbish. Muscles cold and stiff, need to warm up, -Though I don't thing the chilly channel breeze helps, once flying they will warm. But takes a lot of different elements in it's path home whilst the middle distance bird sis nicely it's it nest box for the next 6 - 8 hours even whilst the distance bird has to do the extra miles. And the cheeky gits still advertise and word as a Distance winner lol.
  5. Yep, can't blame her lol... she's know doubt heard about yer lol :P ;D ;D
  6. ;D ;D yeah, for sending the letter back replying lol ;D ;D

    dropping off!

well this is certainly some feat! Mad and crazy etc. granted, but there to be done I guess ... http://www.maniacworld.com/Record-New-Years-Eve-Jump.html
  8. Dear Sirs, In view of what seems to be happening internationally with banks at the moment, I was wondering if you could advise me correctly... If one of my cheques is returned marked 'insufficient funds,' how do I know whether that refers to me, or to you?
  9. Good job Kipps birds counted... a stack from 1 02 to 1 177, and they all went in the clock. Can't for love or money see why a bird that strives on should be penalised, even robbed of the true merit it deserves. Yes the sooner, outed the better, like the Noon libs.... every bird should be given every chance of making it's loft on the day. Sure some will be 2 - 3 day races etc. But if possible, then should should be allowed to do it. But it is an contrivd twist to feather and line own interests of course. Daren't repeat some of the B*****cks spout to justify their own agenda. When crap scenarios are used, it is usually a white wash.
  10. Double grand children won Nationals and internations.
  11. Doubt very much indeed if every a case for the court over slander would even reach the courts, let alone be tried. And just look at the time effect that it would take to prove before it even got as far as being seriously considered. And wouldn't the members be in an uproar is any 'Body' forked out the £0000's that would have to be lodged before a lawyer, let alone a court would be interested. But agree too many of us are possibly only spouting out past realities when in all honest this may be different. Mind they all started out like that! So you will have another Fed labelled a 'National'! Struth who would 'Adam and Eve it'? No one I guess.

  13. You still have to apply to Defra for a licence to trap Corvids in a larsen trap........ Wasn't interested in trapping any Corvids .... Magpies are vermin still I believe, likewise Squirrells and rats etc.
  14. Well in the nick, in the good ole days, it was three days dinners, 3 days bread and water, and one day nowt. likewise when keeping fish, one or two days no feed. One they would pick up any left around, and 2nd day allows the system to cleanse it's self out. Have the odd time left the day out, and they never hurt none, improve any? well I don't know, but certainly won't hurt much. Left them a day with out when i cahnge to the tic beans... first off picked and threw every where. Next day rationed, cleaned them up... now I can leave full and they not throw about. All in all a good thing... gives an edge to controlling them too.
  15. Big Thank You to JM Couriers deliver the birds to me today. Mike and Julia, very pleasant people. Birds in fantastic condition, would recommend to anyone. Great, But! isn't it about time the mods put these comments, good in their appropiate place, and like wise the not so good also in appropiate place. member can, and should be able to just click on and see the comments of both with out pro and anti slanging.
  16. 100% right, I agree entirely ... Again Noon libs are contrived for the coastal boys to have middle distance winners claiming a Distance race.
  17. But what if, as has happen far to many time a bird arrives at 11 - 5! and a lesser bird gets disturbed at 3 15... flys on and makes enough progess to be timed in at 4 : 25 next morning! I honestly believe - especially now in the days of ET timing ( Yes I know at the moment many want a rubber timing too, but that will change) That HOD should be scraped. At best Local times adhered too, but not even happy with that thought. Was a great case -and many - where Biss and Waite timed way behind a great bird.... but HOD gave it to them! Besides if a bird flies into and through darkness, the merit alone means it should be timed as such and get the merit it deserves.
  18. Possibly your right... Most are spout the realism of facts that have happened time and time again, and no matter how well wrapped up, and sparkling with tinsel etc. 99% of the time, one or two sure things have been the reality. One an concoction of: Ego's, self importance, unfair advantage, cutting out Good Flyers, moving the goal posts unfairly etc. And two: The grass roots suffer by, costs, less merit, a Kellog Cup etc. dearer flying, and lose of members... The second part (two) is a certainty, Then another certainty when they pack up it will be mish mashed over via the same of toothless dogga ma of 'Would have left any way, Didn't he get ill health, believe his misses wanted him to pack up (after 40 years lol) Had to spend more time with the family, took up Photo / fishing etc. Would have left anyway' etc. etc Yes can think of many more... but the truth 'The real reason was as he stated, and that LAYS at ******** Door' Mark my words, as sure as eggs are eggs. Concerns hould be helping each other! Not starting spoilt brats new regime, more costs etc. Bigger and better we go forth! ... Weaker and poorer we strife to soldier on ...!

    Old Fool

3 OLD GRANDMAS. Three mischievous old Grandmas were sitting on a bench outside a nursing home when an old Grandpa walked by. And one of the old Grandmas yelled out saying, 'We bet we can tell exactly how old you are.' The old man said, 'There is no way you can guess it, you old fools.' One of the old Grandmas said, 'Sure we can! Just drop your pants and under shorts and we can tell your exact age.' Embarrassed just a little, but anxious to prove they couldn't do it,he dropped his drawers. The Grandmas asked him to first turn around a couple of times and to jump up and down several times. Then they all piped up and said, 'You're 87 years old!' Standing with his pants down around his ankles, the old gent asked,'How in the world did you guess?' Slapping their knees and grinning from ear to ear, the three old ladies happily yelled in unison - - 'We were at your birthday party yesterday!'

    Shot Down. by RAFA

BLACK W F I never said any different, from W. Chapman etc. and other great names, he is undoubtedly in the top drawer. Times and eras. etc. vary, as do likes, dislikes, point for both for and against. But for any one to deride Sir Alex would not only be foolhardy but ludicruss. Yet I admire his mangerment skills... and he hasn't many players that many teams would like. Tom Docherty should have get his manhood in his pocket, because he was also destined to be a legend without any doubt. But a good decent manager can but success as Blackburn proved under that great owner Walker. I also look at what shoe string clubs acheived, like Wimbledon.... Non League upto the First and then of cause Premier. Just waht did the three great managers spend... nowt. Curblishly at Charlton Atheletic... Take what Aserne has acheived and made money every season for Arsenal! The cost in relationship to many is fantastic. What could he have acheived if he open up his cheque book, Put new shirts up every other week, etc.! And also one must consider the Chairmam and what he would / will allow. Alex was obviously lucky that Edwards gave him a good shake of the rope. Many would have been long gone, especially today, and History would not have even heard of Sir Alex most likely... Done great at Aberdeen too.... Lets look at Martin O'niel, he has never failed to impress with great results and spent very little too especially when compared to many Cheque books. The list is of course long, and reasoning and biases varied, but Sir Alex is, and has been great.... an A***ole maybe, but a great. I've never ever said any different.
  21. I thought the same. Must be imbreeding them I guess. line breeding may well have great results, but not the look -a - likeso much I feel. Do look good though.
  22. libby@retford-poultry.freeserve.co.uk She is approachable, further an poultry vet etc. specialist.
  23. Can't understand this line of reasoning, Quote ' .... had a good check round this morning, theres no signs of mice rats, the loft is only a couple months old, sraped out everyday, boxes etc all brand new too so dont think its any disease ...!!"! end of quote. Now I would be more than anxious myself, because if not deserted, orput off the nest then disease would be foremost in my mine. As Sherlock said, when eliminating the ..... ..... etc, the what is left, has to be the truth! Besides owing to the newness, and the constant care given, I'd would certainly take the chick if you still have it to an 'Bird Veterian' and have an autopsy done. Send it via registered post to Libby Harrison for instance at Rhetford. £57 + VAT for peace of mind, and then KNOWING, and further how to deal with what is a small price to pay. I started a thread and was hoo booed as crap when I started on about the Samanella's Phars, etc. saying many lofts have the problem and yet don't even know.... and then lol and behold posters came out from the woodwork and stated the very things I'd just warned about, big time. Dig the chick out and if you can afford.... send it off for an autopsy. Hope I'm wrong, but at least you'll sleep better.
  24. I remember well, just a few short years ago, 4 I think! When one of the club wanted to do an open race to raise money for our club. Fine, I’ll go along with that. But after it was agreed, a few started tickling a few ears with the idea of how it SHOULD /WOULD be better and nice if one in our club won it. I wasn’t happy then and quickly stated so. But some shut their ears to reality and went along with taking this part out, included that part. So in the end it was a mish mash of a jigsaw going all over the place. Extended here, shortened there etc. I withdrew and stated the more the merrier, that any one on the given day – wind willing of course, should be entered and a 20 – 30 mile radius of the club, whatever, ut not dilly dally trying to leave out good flyers and expect dummies to fill the coffers. You know what! They went for I, saying many plausible excuses as to why it was right! They o course omitted the real reason. Yes greed, wanting to win, fairly or otherwise for BOTH the money and the merit. The winner didn’t achieve any merit of course, and the club made very little. I refused to enter. Like a few others into an contrived and selfish exercise.
  25. Lot of truth there strapper ... but surely all and any new rule / organisation should have the interests of the Majority at heart.... BUT not at the expence of the minority!
