Only race Thurso, and as I often say, only day birds in one club and 3 or the four day birds in another... plus three day birds I didn't bother toclock. They will do just fine matey ... would restrict any flying after Wednesday night and just start feeding high Carbs.

No, just THROUGHOUT the week lol. :P Barley has a lot of different propetes, and is a good blood purifyer. But remember A. they will over feed to compensate what they may be lacking, and too much has the dire effect of causing toxin in the blood. A little regulary is good though. Suppose as to to how much is a little depends on what other feeds you mix it with. I like it purely as a blood cleanser.

I think this likes should be, best be totally ignored. Feel that any youngster that has an interest ih starting up, must have got the bug of a fancier somewhere down the line. So must have an avenue for 'Club / Fed flyers that will be only to pleased to set a youngster up with some birds. Of course there is always an element of 'Maybe' in which case they would come on and ask with a mite of honesty. Sorry but just cannot see any youngster surfing te net, and then come across a Pigeon Site and get a real interest ... would ask a bit up front I feel. So Lee for that reason I am out and shalln't be giving you any youngsters, or stockbirds. Mind if you ask Nicely of all them that DON'T give you birds, maybe they will chip in with carriage and feed and medicences etc.

Two ways of looking at it. Trap, and then having to dispose Live rats. Not everyones cup of tea. Poisoned and may die under or near loft / house, stink like the clappers. Catch two. Starve them for a few days. Put them together. One will kill and eat the other. Release, and it will kill the rest. Best held and fed young ones. Never eats anything else... :-/ :o

Agreed. they love the smell / taste of Peanuts. Also the sweet taste of anti freeze. There was a company I posted uphere that also did a 'Smaell' this really lured them. Electrcute or trap or to poison. Good luck. I get mice from time to time of course. Every one has one or the other.... many just don't realise it. Mice means no rats.... Rats eat mice so they don't stay around rats too long.

Get stock birds. Would be at this time of the year trying for Latebreds and that's for sure. Would now also be at Louella's - regardless what one says about Viruses etc. - and be buying d.g. children off Invincible Spirit, Smagdd 1 and Smaggd 2 etc. Would be stock and mixed often each matings. Know then for sure I have the blood, Distance or sprint, and if not up amongst the top in three years would buy in a tutor, as I'd surely be doing something / or things wrong. Yes Now is the time to get some good late breds in. Not much else would come in, as they would be kept seperate, and only another 3 / 4 pairs of a strain / fancier I like would be considered. Yes out crossing galore. Stock for blood, crosses for racing. J.M.O

Yes I see the thoughts of a longer, stiffer and a more realistic sentence being passed etc. Yes i tend to agree .... :-/ But you know, the whole shebang is up the shute. Community service for a rapist of an 82 year old woman, and says it was the drugs that caused it :o Not, 'Ah drugs was it eh! ... then you will have another 2 years sentence to run CONSECREtIVELY to the 25 years you should have JUST been sentenced. Now I feel hot under the collar too.... But when someone slashes a young pretty 16 year old girls face that needs 104 stitches to hold her face back in place, and that only warrents a 6 months suspended sentence, it is I think that the world has gone mad and the Judges have lost their marbles. :o Now if that was my daughter I hear one say 'I'd get life'! Yes you probably would, because acting out a reprisal, taking the 'Law into ones own hands' is deemed far worse than any offence that may have caused one to act as such. Law and Justices are planets apart here, and that's the sad fact. Me! I'd have MINIMIUM sentences! Burglary, 2 years. Rape minum 7 years + Any crime / offence through being on drugs 3 years automatically added. Beat up and robbing A.O.P 7 years, it is armed robbery regardless what mitigation - heavan forbid when all is said and done. Drug related crimes - to feed a habbit - 3 years added. Sentences to become law that they are 'Cold turkeyed'!Inside like it or not! Any smuggling of drugs into a prison 3 years. Screws helping / or taking in drugs 15 years. Jails are not 'Warehouse to lock up undesirables' they say! eh! Tosh. First law 12 more prisons built and funded. Food down on conveyor belt. No want, go with out. Hunger strikes! :-/ Be laid out of the way in a coffin to make it easier with no publicity. Cold showered always available. Hot twice a week. Back to the 60's of 3 days decent food - nearly - 3 days bread and water and one day nothing. No drugs allowed in ther prison to give the screws a easy quiet time. Gosh, not many would want to go back in. Some get instituinalised granted. But if they couldn't get their' drugs in prison they would want to go back. - Is easier to get inside for some than outside. But as it is easy living and pool tables etc. Rehabiltation course (Scams) and T.v and drugs readily available, then there is no detterent. Simple that. Streets and pigeon lofts would be safe to walk down again. Now if there was a way M.P.'s could make money sending them to prison, or undiseable immigrants back home, there would be endless shuttle buses day and night!

Good comments there. Our convoyer says that as we sent to Farham every week, whilst othe feds circled etc. our birds just cleared. Think this is 'Habit' forming really. Obviously doesn't do any harm. For me training is more a 'Fitness / conditioning of birds and like to send them the opposite direction last chuck before the next race. Feel this may awaken / sharpen the homing a mite. Probably just another fanciers fettish, but we all have them. Simple fact is, only healthy birds win.

So they talked to him and he told them he couldn't read - NO THIS is a true story -so they took him off the rounds and tried to sack him. But the Union won't hear of it and he is still turning up and walking around the offices a year later. Can't sort or put anything under a heading. Had a great Thurso race 2006, just sent 10 to Thurso. 7 in top ten 1 2 3 one club only day birds, then 2,3, only 3 day birds in another club .(-4th &5th but didn't bother to time them in.) Now the Mother was a late bred born September, won the Scottish averages on her own the very next season. Done well every year there after. Lost her Thurso last year in that smash. But a Good pigeon is just that, a good pigeon. A fancier has the same yard stick, and mostly they tend to compliment each other.

Know some that - like me lol - that seldom bother to even train y/b's. Some have first race ever Saints as yearlings, or Pau as 2 yo's. Though I don't do this.... yet! Others trained them up fro 300yards and then 400 yards further only to 20 mile iles. Gary - Best flyer I ever knew any where just had the ame for all birds, young and old alike 20 miles first every and last chuck ... one season went 50 miles twice and said 'If they can home from 50 miles, then they can home from any where#! When reminded of this he said 'Yeah soryy, was mistaken, should have been 20 miles'.

Depends where the old loft is, and how far.... a short trip can be useful like. But a pigeon never forget's where it's old loft is, or where it was born. Just needs to be happy and content and feel safer in it's new loft. Then yo break it in within three days.. If it's a distance away / or can't be retrieved, best you make sure you have had a couple of rounds of them first... as you will most ly lose them. The longer caged the harder to break.

Nothing to say the 'Whites' go up at the ceremony and the Race Early next morning. That would be a double wahmmy and quite conceivable. 7 in the morning and recorded of course. Or before the Mens marathon, and another before the Womens marathon. Just need a few to give up their time, and see the games free I guess lo
