    Aviary Wire Mesh

http://www.meshdirect.co.uk/Wire-Mesh-Galvanized-6-x-6-mm-holes-900-mm-wide-x-6-metres-23gauge-1-4ins-x-1-4ins-holes-3ft-x-20ft-pr-13.html I have looked before. Now again. I think that the very fine weld with a plastic mesh over - lay - 1/2 apart would be superb. Plenty of air. Birds not seeing too much outside and insect and vermin repellant.
  4. Why not just feed them Linseed / Flax?

  9. I have contacted them regards the concerns / thoughts etc. on here and will forward their reply forthwith, if and when I get it of course. Personally I think they will be back to me, as I can't see any reason why not. Indeed it may well be in their interest.
  10. Jono Gibbes, Chiefs "Nobody in Rugby should be called a genius. A genius is a guy like Norman Einstein." Rodney So'ialo, Hurricanes, on University "I'm going to graduate on time, no matter how long it takes." Colin Cooper, Hurricanes head coach "You guys line up alphabetically by height." And, "You guys pair up in groups of three, then line up in a circle." Chris Masoe (Hurricanes) on whether he had visited the Pyramids during his visit to Egypt . "I can't really remember the names of the clubs that we went to." Colin Cooper on Paul Tito "He's a guy who gets up at six o'clock in the morning regardless of what time it is." Kevin Senio ( Auckland ), on Night Rugby vs Day Games "It's basically the same, just darker." David Nucifora ( Auckland ) talking about Troy Flavell "I told him, 'Son, what is it with you.... is it ignorance or apathy?' He said, 'David, I don't know and I don't care..' David Holwell (Hurricanes) when asked about the upcoming season: "I want to reach for 150 or 200 points this season, whichever comes first." (3) "I would not say he (Rico Gear) is the best left winger in the Super14, but there are none better." (4) "Well, either side could win it, or it could be a draw." (5) "Strangely, in slow motion replay, the ball seemed to hang in the air for even longer." The best Murray Deaker: "Have you ever thought of writing your autobiography?" Tana Umaga "On what?"
  11. So just why are the RPRA SHU etc. so dear? :egyptian:
  12. No, not exactly, however, in certain places the public are requested by landlords not to feed them. London's Mayor Ken Livingston (now replaced by Boris Johnson) tried to bring in a by-law to stop pigeon feeding in Trafalgar Square, but so far as I recall, the by-law was overturned by a High Court judge, ruling the by-law illegal. There used to be a pigeon food seller on the square, but no more. There were mixed feelings among the general public on this matter, which prevail today. Wardens do still patrol the square in an effort to discourage pigeon feeding, but I don't think it is actually illegal. The problem, as Mr Livingstone saw it, was the damage being done to public property, such as the National Gallery and Nelson's Column by the tons of guano being dropped and the high cost of repairs (£140,000 for Nelson's Column alone) and cleaning up of the awful mess. Today, Hawks are used to frighten off the Trafalgar Sq pigeons. But have very little effect. £140.000 was laughed at, as was his statement thet 750 TONS were clean of Nelson's column alone each year! Seems that one can actually be prosecuted for Litter rather when feeding birds. But again there is a debate still going on regards that. Of course I will admit that throwing food down for birds on ground may well entice Rats... plus attract cats.

    Tooshy Boy /

Well I am a great believer in 'Self immunity' for my birds. However there are time, and it is getting increasingly worse, that we, our birds, need a helping hand. Spent nigh £200 and more this last season at the Vets. First time ever. What I feared it was, wasn't. But never the less it put peace of mind in place, likewise a very good learning curve! Had a fear of Samonella... But was yeast that devasted my loft. YEAST is a very big devaster of birds! Since have learned. Wish I could get a stock of Nystatin! Likewise we are trying - will do, pass it at the AGM that any body's bird showing any sign - outside the norm - of an ailment they MUST contact the Sec and committee. Have to hold off racing till a vet gives them a 'Clean Buill of Health'! Further all container / drinkers and Water has to be steralised way before being in use. Nine in one club went down this past season will Pharphoid! Devastion. Many of us that spend time and money caring and looking after our birds are getting sheite loads of it coming down the shoot because of others lack of sensiblity and common sence. Samonella is from Filth, rats / Mce etc. and poor manager... But of course one can still get it in a well ventilated clean disenfected lofts. IS THAT FAIR :emoticon-0126-nerd: :emoticon-0138-thinking:
  14. I believe that it is an offence, and against a higher law to try and impose such a bann. Ask any 'Animal Right Actavist'! They openenly feed the birds / pigeons - like in Trafagar - 1 -2- 3 times a day. They don't get taken to court any more... the council are on permanent stand by to keep clearing the feed away. Also I believe that that is being challenged as to that in fact is legal.
  15. Great idea.... will never happen. More chance to pee in the Queens' ear from 50 yards into a head wind! Why!!! Ego's! Advantages. / Locations. Self indulgance of self important and wanna be ' I am Great's' Scared still of change in as much that they might give away a yard or two from what they deem is an advantage. Plus too many go along for the ride and back those whom 'Tickle their Ear's'. Whether for the betterment of not. -- Mind these same ones will whinge and moan etc. like braggarts when another tickles their ear and points out that they may be actually worse off... so much depends on whom is best at tickling ears I guess. Costs, sensibility and realism has - unfortunately - not a chair to sit on, let alone a vote. The reality is that a change for the betterment of the sport, club or fed / Nationals can't hold it's own against the afore mentioned and as such will never get a Vote!
  16. I'd give pick off my loft. Some give you youngsters big enough to fly the longest race... :emoticon-0138-thinking so you know that they didn't really want you to have them. BUT they then can say 'They gave you sommat'. And many won't part with a cock bird, as they are afraid you might breed winners from him ... Yes I know a hen bird is a very important part of your loft, Indeed a hen is more genuine and honest than a cock bird, and shine through ONon hard days and at the distance.
  17. Mind I don't mind where they are from ... Just thought that it was down to a 'Lucky Draw' like. Then if I recall correct, one puts up whether they want a Sprint / middle distance or long bird.

  19. Danny would go ... if there isn't a football match on or something... But of course HE won't be there whatever the reason... far better at swiping, snide remarks and trying to make a case out of nothingh or any vearing, to derail in trying to make an arguement out os stupidness. I'm sure it is a deflated ego thing that strives for recognision :emoticon-0137-clapping:
  20. I think Danny is peeing into a head wind. He doesnae even notice he's getting soaking wet :emoticon-0136-giggle: lol :emoticon-0140-rofl: :emoticon-0140-rofl:
  21. I did, straight off John. Routine is HABIT ..... as I posted '.........Dry and well ventilated loft. Good clean feed and water EVERY day, or twice etc. Regular habbits and a simple system that suits you .... regular.
  22. Agree ... others might breed of the ones that don't come home but don't you! :emoticon-0140-rofl: :emoticon-0136-giggle:
  23. Dry and well ventilated loft. Good clean feed and water EVERY day, or twice etc. Regular habbits and a simple system that suits you .... regular. The better the fancier, the more you listen, remembering everyone has swallows, but these never made a summer. Some HAVE to repeat the same old story about their '......... that should tell you summat.
  24. Believe you ought to check the facts matey. Not only who finaince it, but whose water it is and belongs to.
