Certainly go a long way towards that granted. Outside of following the leader, and whinging, most shoot themselves in the foot daily. Own worse eminy is very apt and when a 'Good thing' is tried it is smothered with self promoted ego's and needless and ofty stupid scenario's. Meaning they leave dicesions to others - then whinge - and worse use it as reason for not attending meetings and supporting Clubs / Feds etc. down the line. Won't support 'Fund - raising' for instance yet want good 'Prize money paid out' and Cheaper birdage... but won't contribute to a 'Car Sale, a breeder buyer,a moot etc. etc. Ah is the fanciers Fickled... you can take it to the bank. Know it is a little off this subject, and yet very much involves this subject. I's say 'I they can't help basketing race nights... leave their birds at club for them to take back ... we refused theirs once and gave them half hour to sort their birds out ... worked wonders, but I was not asked to be president again lol. If they don't support 'Fundings', then not eligible for Cards and Prize money. etc. etc. But alas alack, as fully paid up members they ARE entitled to the same rights and priviledges as every one else.... mores the pity.

Close it Is a good thing for views to be aired. Further a heated debate is good as it causes interest, and like scratchings in the farmyard it draws attention. WHICH can only be good for members and site alike.

one should exercise their right to vote and TURN up to vote. Otherwise of course it is that they have decided to abide with the majority of those who bothered to turn up, and did vote. Turn up or accept, then abide. If they were really interested, or wanted to put forward a view and vote, then they would have been there. Simple as that. If not going then then have in reality given their vote, and endorsed it, to the majority that voted. No good having ego's tickled and ears bent via those out vote, that should have happen before the vote.

Many top flyers, and lesser akin, have had disastrous results this year. Know a National flyer of merit that had just 4 from 80.... and that unforetunately has been rife. Pigeons aren't affected via directions, only wind ... only fanciers wanting an advantage.

I think the glibbed tongues will tickle the ears of the masses (especially the ego followers) and they will get them to vote for what they deem is best for themselves(and stuff the rest).... whether for the betterment the fanciers as a whole, logical reality and sensible or whatever,will be irrelevant for they will have their' way even if it means darn the cost in both money and / or members. If for the best actually comes about, that is and will be purely because it suited them!

A good idea... When we flew into Belgium due to the foot and mouth outbreak and France wouldn't allow us there. The two main things that stood out was the different lofts that succeeded and the ones normally hugging the top rungs were down the ladder a mite. This proved very easily the fact that 'Wind' made all the difference. 2. Those on committees and the favoured few were in up roar. The letters arriving in protest to the RPRA etc. were soggy being soaked in tears. even new 'Nationals' were formed to offset these 'Upstarts' that were suddenly dominating the top of the ladder. Needless to say the RPRA soon stopped this route and all the 'Old School' were appeased lol. True and fact! So it would happen in Scotland the same. Indeed I doubt very much if it ever got of the ground as the 'Leaders' would defend their location, and as per norm, the followers would such up to the glibb crap that tickles their ears! JMO

Well got onto the RPRA. Had a nice chat. Annabel says that they will take it straight up with the fanciers concerned. That they will write first to ask how and where they got the birds from and that they must keep the birds prisoners etc. etc. - By the way she mentioned that as so many say they don't want their birds back, some are now automatically (testing the birds out of course I'd say)then just send in for a transfer. That I was not to worry and they would be onto to it forwith! Great,a few minutes later she rang me. Said her colleague was already onto it, and thata mistake had actually been made... Would I check the two ring numbers at the bottom that hadn't been transfered etc. They didn't tally to mine... But the top three did. This was because of an typing error, and why they had come back. The 7 in the transfer had come out as the one in my birds. That the mistake had already been noted and that my birds of course hadn't been transfered. Must admit they were very quick in phoning me back. And it was a very pausible reason and mistake I guess. Any way I accepted their appoligy and asked them to keep a look out for my birds klol ... Mind two are still actually in my loft... I know should have checked that first off lol. Still alls well that ends well eh!

Would be great to see the Welsh win this one... I've already eaten a little humble pie, and further I stated that whoever beats the All Blacks and / or England will win this Cup! Hope I'm wrong regards France.

I have had a letter from the RPRA regards me transferring 5 birds!!! Three to go through, and 2 that have not been transferred I have never heard of either of the fanciers... close together lofts from same district or club. 180 miles away! I certainly don't know anty one up that way, not can't recall ever transferring any youngster except to a local I bred for!!! These were in that fly away I posted earlier in the season.... July / August time. I feel that these ended up that way and have been kept and trained up. Never have been reported! What do member on here think?

What really amazes me how all the best Fanciers live on the East side lol... except when there is east in the wind... Then the second best blot all live near each other too lol let them move loft to the most Western side, and they'll do the Od bit .. Go one then, move to the centre and pray for no wind the day when your birds are 110% ready and conditioned... yep may be on the sheet.... near bottom though lol.

I know the USA flyers inocculated against it. Billy Taylor, a very knowledgeable and more than a good flyer, was promoting the use, and the need for in over there 12 years ago. Could find the debate if of a mind I guess. But like he said THEN when over here 'Don't think you have the same weather / problems we have'. Don't think that that has changed much regardless as of now and the Climate Change'! JMO

jonl6280 nice to see you loyal through good and not so good. Scotland in fact did vastly better than 95% of team who have against Spain over the last 4 -5 years. Indeed last time they were beaten at home was 5 years ago! Further, though of course the best team on the night won, if lady luck had smiled on the Jocks, then they could have walked away with a draw ... or even a win! Remember many games as such where, like Leeds pommels Wolves for 89 minutes needing a draw to win the title yet won 1 nil which handed Liverpool the title. Like England stripping and annihilating Poland... to only lose. Yes may have, would been unfair, but it happens so what the heck. As for a new manager Well Levein is the best by far for a very long time all things taken on boards, not least the players capabilities he has had to choose from.... Since 1982 in reality I guess... 1978 being the best team for decades and since I'd wager.... yet they under achieved miserably on the big stage twice. I thought that Scotland worked and tried very hard and never gave up, which is a throw back to their great nature ... so rarely seen now. Just needed a little roll of the ball and a slice of luck and a popular result could have been achieved. As a footnote, every player out classed ALL of Rooney’s performances for England! Indeed if he had their mentality and ardour, passion they had for his country, then he would be a world – class player on the Big Stage.
