  1. Aye you are spot on Fifer and it wont be long till the cauld East winds are arriving. The auld saying "Patience is a Virtue" does not apply to 99% of fanciers.
  2. Best laid plans and all that, Basketted this morning and waited for the sun to break through 9c at midday put them back in the loft 100% returns LOL

  6. Dazer International Phone 08004102888 GUARD'N EYES BALOON £15.00
  7. I have never reared a pair of youngsters without the second and third secondary flights being fretted nor have I bred a single reared youngster with a fret mark. Dont know the answer but have never been concerned about it as they still win in good competition.
  8. This is a question I asked myself a number of years ago falling into the trap of obtaining pigeons without pedigree information ending up with a higglety piggelty bunch that would not cut the mustard when the chips were down. What I found was if you visit a small team fancier you wont obtain his best as he cannot afford to part with what he believes could be his next distance winner with him breeding so few. The larger team fanciers in your locality would be Ray Strawbridge, The Padfields and Preece Brothers and obtain youngsters which are line bred to a solid race line of blood for a couple of generations. Depending on your financial situation. As you have posted you are completing your loft I would join Gwent Greater Distance Club at your earliest convenience and your pigeons will be basketed with the finest pigeons in Wales. At the first opportunity I would take a handfull of rings and ask the members if they could possibly ring you a Late Bred or two as I found them to be gentlemen of the finest order and I know Ray will take you under his wing. You will in all probability find that the most successful strain in Wales are Aarden whether they be Polder, Muller, Battenburg, Jan or Invincible Spirit. In my opinion Novice is printing TOSH.
  9. Nice yin Tammy LOL

    Peanuts,

Pale skin Peanuts from the health food shop are half the price of Red Skin Peanuts and both are suitable for human consumption.
  11. Only met him last year. Lovely guy, RIP Robert.
  12. Dont think they would get away with doseing Billions of poultry unless they were happy with the results and I have used it for years without getting ailments.
  13. Cos Man Utd wisnae in it.
  14. One balloon hanging up is enough LOL LOL
  15. NO... BUT they have, to my knowledge, never been attacked ""AT THE LOFT""
  16. After 9 years and successfully watching over my birds in Wales, England and Scotland my DAZER ""TERROR EYES"" Balloon has finally bit the dust with old age and been retired to the wheelie bin. Since standing guard over the years my feathered friends have not been subjected to any disruption from the sky and his replacement costs £15.00. What a pity their are not more like me and have a cheap deterrent instead of putting up with continual attacks and telling horror stories of losing birds at the loft for the sake of a couple of quid.
  17. Half a teaspoon to one gallon Water will do them no harm at all once a month followed up by Prebiotics.
  18. Try to think Billy before tapping the keyboard LOL.
  19. Thank you for your help and comments
  20. Perhaps I should add that if investigated they are the perfect excuse as you are attempting to rid your property of corvids by catching and releasing them elsewhere which is perfectly legal.
  21. You obiously dont know how to use them mate because they are used by the professional and even a person as stupid as me have used them very successfully. So perhaps you would like to quantify your remark.
  22. Can anyone reccommend a good memory stick to download a programme into as I am a little worried about losing an awfull lot of work in the event of a crash.
  23. One of the clubs I was in down South was Carterton with Ray Harris the Secretary and noticed he was one of the "new gang" as described by Stuart Wardrop and on reading further noticed he was backward in all his thinking regarding new technology and that was how I found him to be too. I remember trying to bring him into the year 2000 regarding computers, ETS etc which he was dead against and preferred to do results by long hand. Their was a retired Businesman pulling his strings and grooming him into Region Office. He was just out of his league as has been proved at the RPRA AGM. Perhaps if he had removed his Santa Clause beard he may have been taken seriously.
  24. Paired up everything at mid-day to-day with it being the full moon and hopefully all will go well as every other year.
  25. Health is the be all and end all for winning races. Fit but unhealthy dont and its unfortunate we cannot see inside them. I said at the start of this subject my birds were in fantastic condition yet had canker.
