  1. the problem with those on ebay - is that when you look more closely it says 'adapter', does that mean its an adapter FOR the capture card (and you still have to buy a capture card) or what? what I really want is for someone to point out - here's one - it will definitely do the job and won't cost you an arm and a leg
  2. You cannot show your birds, racing or otherwise if they have not been vaccinated it has nothing to do with the shows asking you to vaccinate (though they should ask for - and KEEP a copy of your vaccination certificate ) it is a DEFRA requirement (by law) if you move your pigeons out of your loft area (that includes showing, training, racing) and whether you keep show racers, fancy pigeons, or racing pigeons - it reflects on all of us if you do not stick to the regulations the only people who can 'get away' with not vaccinating their pigeons, are those who do not do any of the above, and the pigeons only stay in the loft of the owner (and are therefore not 'moved')
  3. I've got one for that
  4. That is what my grandson wants for his birthday - plus all the 'wires' to go with it - he said they are around £25 Can anyone give me a link to what I require please (cos I haven't a clue !!) A lot of what I am seeing turn out to be 'adapters'
  5. I don't suppose you have an entry form do you? I have emailed and requested one - but whatever it is they have sent me - my computer has blocked it....!! All I can find on line is a 2010 entry form
  6. Can you elaborate please For you all that show your birds - have they fully moulted out?
  7. Thank you Steve I hope you have success with them
  8. Have birds been vaccinated against PMV? (paramyxovirus) There appears to be outbreaks of the disease http://animalhealth.defra.gov.uk/managing-disease/notifiable-disease/paramyxovirus-of-pigeons.html
  9. NEHU requires a copy of vaccination sheet with entry form for their show
  10. I have sent you a message
  11. charcoal capsules from Holland and Barrett (you need to open the capsule and empty contents down throat) and I think you should be able to get charcoal tablets from most chemists I would continue with the cider vinegar also (1 or 2ml direct in to crop - that is a couple of drops) but try and empty youngsters crop of stagnant water first
  12. to send 10 birds would cost £8.50 in non combine races and no pool money (pools are not compulsory) it would cost £12.50 for 10 birds for Folkestone (for instance) we don't have any 'top guys' in our club - we have several really good ones - 20 members in club - and at least 10 different members won races this year

  16. In our club - there are different charges for each type of race Every race carries points for the first 5 in each race Every combine race has prize money (and this is worked out for each race 'as it happens') The combine race prize money is paid out the following week as is the pool money - the points money is paid out at the presentation The club runs a football card each week on basket day (and these are also run on a Wednesday in a local club) The club also has 'a loft draw' which is compulsory and costs £2 a week during the racing season. There are 2 x £10 prizes each week, (each loft has 2 numbers) Points money is £2 a point (and you also get £1 for a 6th - 10th position in each race) every member also gets £10 'for taking part' so every member gets an envelope on presentation evening, even if they have no points (and only one member this year with nil points) The top 5 lofts in the club donate a young bird (and sometimes some well known local top fancier also donates) and these are auctioned at the presentation evening. These youngsters also have a breeder buyer race as young birds - prize money £25 breeder £25 buyer. There is a raffle at the presentation evening - this usually pays the expenses of the evening (buffet etc) there are around 25 raffle prizes, and this usually raises a few hundred pounds. The presentation evening is open to club members (2 free tickets, members from other clubs and also members of the social club can join in after the presentation (£3 a ticket, includes buffet)although there has been a slight decline in numbers the last year or two - 3 years ago it was a 'full house' with 150 people at the presentation,
