  1. I wonder how many people on here let tap water stand for 24 hours before taking their own tablets, antibiotics etc Although I do it for the birds I NEVER do it for myself - and I have never seen it on the Chemist's labels
  2. I have one Jan Loot - a hen,a latebred purchased in a charity sale late 2007, she was not raced until 2009 and had a couple of 7th/8ths but we have high hopes for her in the stock loft where she has bred a Fed topper this year.
  3. 6000 pennies is too much for George
  4. £5700 and still in extra time (19.15 now)
  5. You need the 6mm (or 1/4")
  6. I got mine from Lidl a couple of years ago, Aldi also sell them occasionally, they cost in the region of £45 (mine was £38.99 4 or 5 years ago) and come with a USB to link up to computer and monitor (plus software)the magnification goes up to x1020 They usually come into the stores in November/December - in time to buy for Christmas presents keep an eye on their websites - Lidl has different offers in different regions -(Thomasd is Irish I think which is why I put Lidl Ireland website up) !) www.aldi.co.uk www.lidl.co.uk http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bresser-20x-1280x-microscope-wooden-box-accessories-/220843036057?pt=UK_BOI_Medical_Lab_Equipment_Lab_Equipment_ET&hash=item336b454d99#ht_894wt_698 there is currently one for sale on ebay 2nd hand - asking way over the odds (and a lot of people buy them up from Lidl and put them on ebay - so you have to be quick !)
  7. Was told if you pair up early December you don't need to put youngsters on darkness - and that they will hold their flights as if they had been on darkness - would like to know who practices this method AND if the youngsters DO hold their flights
  8. The better ones don't cost much more - but if you have found that particular one works for you...... The Bresser microscopes have better magnification - and is a 'proper' microscope
  9. Keep your eye open at Lidl the one they have coming up this Thursday in Ireland I would say is not suitable - but they should have the Bresser microscopes in shortly www.lidl.ie
  10. I just bought them - the other half planted them (following instructions, naturally ) Oh - and they were a bargain - 99p for 66 plants
  11. same in Redcar today saves watering the 330 winter pansies and polyanthus planted over the weekend they're growing well
  12. Make sure you put some photos up
  13. They need to be seen by a vet :emoticon-0179-headbang: If it is PMV (and I personally think that is the most likely) antibiotics will not help a virus (only if they have secondary infections). If they are all old birds - then the sooner they are 'supported' through this the better. Old birds can recover - they will be losing a lot of nutrients by over drinking and need some support (Vetrelyte etc) it would be cheaper to see a vet than buy any of the stuff recommended by the 'don't know I'm only guessing brigade' who are recommending various antibiotics that legally can only be prescribed by a vet anyway
  14. Who pairs up early (early as in early December) Need some tips on pairing up early - and does it mean the youngsters will be on natural darkness and not go through the moult like later bred natural youngsters
  15. I can't stand other people's kids, so will be sat in the house with no lights on pretending there's no one at home
  16. Old birds can get 'young bird sickness' as well I am no expert - but since when has throwing up and green slimey droppings been a sign of canker Isolate - certainly It is as likely to be 'young bird sickness' with secondary infections (e-coli, yeast etc) and if the bird means anything to you - it needs to be attended to by a vet
  17. It is you're welcome or you are welcome please see my profile page
