  1. Thank God - the cavalries arrived................. :'(
  2. It could still be a few things, worms, cocci, etc - the first one they would probably eat a lot, second one probably not eat much, are they eating ok?
  3. It could be a few things Westy - do the droppings smell horrible ? Can you remember ?
  4. Are they drinking a lot - have you noticed
  5. How do the birds look, do they look ill ? Hunched up ? Backs arched up ? Feathers blown ?
  6. Is the green dropping solid or runny ?
  7. Are you sure its blood Westy - bright red, and not just something they've been eating like Hormoform
  8. You are not being a burden, your concern is appreciated - and we will try to help as much as we can
  9. I have looked at the back page in the British Homing World Kev, there is one liberation on Saturday 22/07/06 at Maidstone, and there are 3 different Derbyshire feds at Stoneleigh same day, which looks nearer to you. There is also a liberation in Littlehampton
  10. Thank you T_T
  11. Can you please see the post in Lost Birds section from Kaz, who lives in Southend and is a non-fancier - see if you can help please. :K)
  12. The bird is about 170 miles from home - it would take him/her 4 or 5 hours to fly that in non-competitive mode, I wouldn't panic too much - there are numerous races from France over the weekend, I would imagine when the pigeon in your garden sees a load of other pigeons flying close by - he'll fly up and join them. Hopefully there may be somebody on this board living close to you, do you know of any pigeon fanciers in your area ?
  13. what part of Essex Kaz
  14. That was me Kaz - and you should have seen me when I had to time the birds in on a holdover cos there was no-body else to do it (poor birds - but I'm better at it now) - that was only last year :'( :'( :'( ;D ;D
  15. Must have been missing you Kaz - likes your hospitality ;D ;D There's no phone no. on the 2006 list either
  16. Think you need to see an optician T_T ;D ;D I'm not Rose 8)
  17. The old birds have started eating one of the plants in the garden that they have never bothered with before - a verbascum, (common name mullein) when I have looked it up on the internet to see if it is ok, it says it is an old remedy used for mucus, respiratory etc - are they trying to tell me something ? Some of them are set to be basketted for a 380 mile race tomorrow :-/

  20. I shall take particular note when she is flying out.
  21. Thank you Henrik
  22. I have a hen with a broken ankle, it is splinted and strapped up and she manages very well on it now, with just a bit of a limp. This happened about 10 days ago, and up to that point had been trained to 12 miles. She flies around the loft and doesn't have too much difficulty with landing. 1. Anyone know how long these things take to heal ? 2.Should it remain strapped up for quite a while ? 3. Should or could the splints be removed soon, 4. would I continue to strap the leg up to give support for a longer period of time. Any advice would be appreciated Thank you
  23. I think the bird was from Shropshire
  24. It isn't a feral pigeon, the ring can be traced back to the owner and the race rubber on the other leg shows that it has probably been to a race recently, the blue ring if its a GB ring indicates it was a 2004 hatched bird, if its an NEHU ring its a 2005 hatched bird - if its from any other organisation I don't know, my sister lives in Buckhirst Hill, Essex, but has no interest in pigeons ( just a bit of useless information really ) I'm 250 miles North................
  25. Where are you from Kaz - you take great photos - I don't know about anybody else but my landing board for the birds is made out of decking just like yours ...!! ;D
