  2. I don't know anything about falconry But I would imagine it is a 'fine art' the way they are kept and I doubt very much if they would be 'allowed' to kill wantonly - as they would then be self sufficient - and doubtless no use for the sport of falconry I enjoyed the programme - see it for what it was, like us a man who enjoyed being with his birds He probably has similar problems himself with feral falcons and the like
  3. it wasn't too early for the UNC birds they were the late ones You must have missed the early ones

  11. UNC Rivenhall Groups 1, 4 & 6 up at 8.00am Groups 2, 3 & 5 up at 8.45am Looks like a 'no wind' situation variable en route
  12. Joe - I've got 2 x 4'6" sections - and they really are quite small for racing (I would really advise against 4 foot sections) For a sick bay - if you have a garage or shed put a few spare boxes in there - or use a basket - you also need to think about where you are going to store the feed for the birds - I use dustbins bought from Wilkinsons - they hold 3 to 4 bags of corn - and they are stored in a shed - which also houses my sick bay
  13. If the red in the the white/red saddleback is red cheq - then yes a chequer is possible
  14. They've plans to put them all over the place Including just off the coast at Redcar http://www.edfenergy.com/about-us/energy-generation/renewable-generation/wind-turbines.shtml It mentions Tow Law in the article
  15. You should have took her to the vet - chopping and changing the medication is not going to do her any good at all - you are not giving her a course of anything If you took her to a vet he would give you advice on what to give in the meantime - which might change once cultures and sensitivity tests are done I hope she is quarantined and away from the rest of your birds
  16. Tell that to the red hen I've got - who has a bruise across the back of her neck and both wings - in a straight line - she has hit wires - don't know how she's done it - but it is possible she has only started flying again in the last 2 weeks, as she wasn't able to at all for a month
  17. I see where you are coming from with a wire injury - as it looks really 'straight across' Whatever has done the damage - he has been extremely lucky to have survived

The ring was issued to Thornaby Homing Society (Tees Valley Federation) secretaries phone number is 01642 887421 If the bird is looking a bit sorry for itself - sugar in water (glucose if you have it) a bit of seed, pulses, grain, rice - crushed corn flakes - whatever you have to hand
