  1. Well done Michael
  2. I would show you a picof a Saab 9.5 twin turbo if I could work out how to put Photies on the site.
  3. What is it
  4. I will not argue that politics should have no place on a pigeon site but it is the most important decision that Scotland will ever make and with so many Scottish fanciers on this site there must be many different opinions and it could be argued that this is well beyond normal politics, but I agree that it is the prerogative of the administrators to close down anything which may jeapordise the integrity of the site
  5. Pigeons Basics has many Scottish members but any mention of the referendum is ruthlessly squashed by the management, maybe they are right.
  6. Sorry to hear this news Michael, deepest condolences to you and your family
  7. OK I like your reply, last year I was about £270 for new batteries for the club Unikon equipment and toner for the printer and seals, clock envelops and rubbers and straw for the baskets etc..etc.I do not know if I could run my club on £20 per member per year
  8. With the racing season virtually over I have shut up shop and provisionally balanced the books for 2014 preparatory to submitting a balance sheet at the club AGM in January 2015.I reckon I have made in the region of 200 phone calls on club business during the year and spent about £25 on postage.I take a modest amount from the club funds each year to cover my expenses but I never feel right about it because,I do not need the money but I have been told that I should think of others who might succeed me in this job.I wonder how other club secretaries deal with this thorny subject
  9. Lockerbie sent 110 pigeons to Stafford with the Solway
  10. I have SU13P 3091 ,a dark chequer hen with a Unikon ring here in Moffat..Tomorrow (Wenesday) if the weather is good I will take it over the beef tub to Tweedsmuir and release her hope she makes it home.
  11. Well done Steven
  12. Lockerbie sent 135 birds to Charnock Richard.
  13. Sorry, it's got a rubber ok but the number is as stated and it is a chequer hen.
  14. Thank you Lindsay,I left a message on that phone.
  15. Sorry it's no an Ayrshire doo it's GB14A 20642'might be South Lanarkshire,I blame these errors on old age.
  16. GB 14 A 26402 here in Moffat this morning,if there are no takers I will take it up the road a bit later in the week.
  17. Lockerbie sent 168 pigeons to Ingleton with the Solway Fed.
  18. Very happy birthday Michael from me and Annelise.
  19. You better believe it ain't good Derek I see troubleahead
  20. Solway 24 hour delay in basketing but Sunday might be doubtful.
  21. Cumbria and South Dumfriesshire. At this time of the year is absolutely infested with Peregrine Falcons as anybody who resides on this area will agree. If you train or race down here it is at your own risk and for once I know what I am talking about.
  22. It can be an interesting experience dealing with strays,I usually wait till I have two or three then grove them up to Abington and release them.Ealier this year I phoned a number off a pigeons leg and was told to f**** off! a week later I reported a blue hen only to find that the SHU number had been issued to a white grizzle cock,as I say interesting. Grove should be drive
  23. Yeah you are probably quite right Mr Wright,my problem is that I only keep a few birds and experience of previous years convinces me that if I send the young birds to the races I face a winter with no pigeons and yes I plead guilty to liking the look of them.
  24. Could I ask for the opinion of the many experienced fanciers on this site.I have a total of 13 young pigeons all of whom have been trained about 15 times from 25 miles and I am now getting them home in reasonable times. My problem is that I grow curiously fond of these doos and do not want to lose them as I have done in previous years once they are liberated in the peregrine infested hills of Cumbria..I know of successful pigeon fanciers who utterly disdain young bird racing and just do not fly young birds. What do site members think?
  25. I am sorry the only advice I can give is that I use a Brother printer which comes with a parallel port for the Unikon base unit and a USB port for the laptop.
