Well there's a four year old cock in my pen that has won inland flown Perth Pau and Palamos and I've never used baytril, vaccinated for paratyphoid, or treated for anything more than worms and kanker. I don't think you get birds that fly 300 mile one way then 750 the other by propping them up all the time. Cider vinegar honey natural yoghurt and milton will do me thanks. Can't help but think if you have to rely on Baytril or other antibiotics you might need to look at your husbandry.

Warwick fed liberated at Swainswick 10.40 Fair with little wind in Rugby

Best o' luck any one who has sent to Perpignan.

I wouldn't dream of using Baytril and vaccinating. We use too much gear propping them up, keep too many stock pigeons, and don't push 'em far eneough. I use cider vinegar and honey, natural yoghurt, and milton. I do treat for kanker and use Ivermectin for worms, but this is only occasional. When young, the birds need to establish their own immunity first, before treating with all and sundry. The overuse of drugs, in the livestock industry, has caused tremendous problems, and it's not a road I wish to go down.

selling birds on this site
peterpau replied to just ask me's topic in Website News, Views & Computer Related Info
Well I've donated young birds to the site, and have sold youngsters indirectly through the site. Have never advertised on here. Have however given birds away to new starters. I would like to think this would be perfectly acceptable to the webmaster. If not send me a pm I wouldn't be offended. I do not like to see some on here selling on a regular bassis. Just my view............... -
You should make sure his birds don't go. If the other members say they are ok. Leaves you the choice send or not. Every week we all put our birds in with a crate full of potential strays. However sick live stock should not be transported by law. I think you've done the right thing, but you must make sure the sec is aware of why you took yours home.

Mate I lost the sire to 887 at...........you guessed it, Palamos, Doh. If you end up with an empty loft, but have either of mine still there let me know. Would like to think they all go, they certainly look the part. Take care.
-
Mate sorry to hear your packing in. Let me know if you can't find a home for those you had from me. They can come back here. 900 is related to my pigeon that flew Palamos for me this year. 751 mile. Take care. Pete.

Bugger the scottish bit. ANYBODY who can fly that sort of distance in that sort of time deserves a bloody medal. Fantastic.
-
Warwick fed at Swainswick 7 o'clock lib. Best o'luck to all starting young birds this week.
-
Mate, well done. I had my first from Palamos this year first time sent and just out of race time. I know exactly how you feel.
-
You have my sincere appologies mate.
-
Hawked twice and bashed at Palamos. I could not agree more.
-
I think we are all too bloody soft with them. If I'm looking for 6/700 milers they better have a damn good homing instinct. 2 light from my first toss hey ho. As for Marseille I have one that had a bash and didn't get to Palamos think he may still go yet. 690 mile.
-
Says it all Rose. Just took my birds for their first toss. 10 mile coming nice and steady.

-
I report all strays and won't dispose of them unless they get in touch imediately. It costs next to nothing to get in touch. You can always pay amtrak later. MAKE THEM SEND FOR THEM.

Les there is only one winner, but that welsh bird is without doubt a top pigeon as is the one in Telford. I think we need to look further than the top of the result to see good pigeons. But any pigeon that has flown Palamos or Barcelona is well worth its corn.

Hi Mate I have a round of latebreds just hatched. Only 8 in total. These birds have bred up to 3rd sec 10th NFC 500mile on the day. If you can collect from Rugby. No paricular strains they are just expected to fly 600 mile plus. Still waiting for my Palamos pigeons though 751 mile.
