  1. So I've just moved house. Birds been split for two weeks and then been in crates for five days. Put them back together yesterday morning, now after two days back together. Two hens have laid. Are these eggs likely to be fertile? Before you say the hens paired together. No this is not possible.
  2. Keith Arnold of Warwick has some of the best Cattrysse in the country. One bred from his just won a national.
  3. Just the BICC at the front as ever. Well done BICC.
  4. Mate I'm off to docs tomorrow so feel for ya. What I'm trying to say is, my best birds didn't cost me a bean.
  5. Sounds good to me don't bin them cos you didn't pay for 'em Hope you get well soon and change your mind
  6. Love the story expat 1. Just as a matter of interest I am all for ETS but not shelling out for a new clock. Mine will last a few years yet. If you want it tiz your choice.
  7. While we are at it forget the € scrap the £ and go back to the groat
  8. Bugger the ETS lets have a clock at club HQ and all run to the club to clock in. Or may be not.
  9. Treat for worms then canker 4 days later. Treat whole loft. In the mean time give either a tablespoon of cider vinegar or lemon juice in the drinker every day for a week. I never dispose of a bird that may have picked something up in the race crate. I never isolate birds either. I would swear by cider vinegar and take it myself every morning. Still play rugby at 45 so it aint harmed me. Just as an asside I have three pigeons flown Pau 629 miles this year. They have cider vinegar 5 days a week.
  10. In Warwickshire we go straight down the Fosse way to the south west. We no longer train through this very rural part of the country because of hawks in fact I think nobody in our club trains more than a few chucks pre season

Well I for one sent to Pau Although my target race was Tarbes. Got 3 from 5 (didn't get one in race time) and I will aim at Tarbes again. Have to say my main aim may change to Palamos though.

Rose. Me fell flat on me face at Pau, but? Get back up and go again. Have to say, think I am lucky having had five races over the water.
  13. Well I always was for ETS and still am in favour. I can't believe people want to bring in time penalties. this is against RPRA rules I think. No I don't have ETS and won't be buying yet another clock in a hurry. I have three computer clocks and stall traps. That'll do for now. I can't beat the sprint man up the road and he can't beat me over 300 mile so ETS won't change a thing for me.

expat 1. I am sure you're right about the distance being not the major factor as I have found to my cost. Pau NFC is a very different story to Pau BICC. This year we didn't clock from Pau, but now have three of my five entries home. Seems to me they just got dragged off the line. My birds don't get much chance of getting a regular line. So I don't think they normally follow but??????????

Nice to see some in the UK. Not eneough me thinks. ??)
  16. Hi Roland where does your radius run to. Could I race north with you. I race south with the Warwick fed and BICC. Would love to go north.
  17. Can't help but think channel racing with the fed is dead. Warwickshire only race inland now. Think that's the way to go. Me I'd go north 540 miles to Lerwick, no one goes that way any more, but why. We send 600 mile south but that's too far for most. Is distance racing dead, may be just dying. :( :

So I got my BICC Pau pigeon after 10 days. Where other clubs managed 1400 ypm our winner was doing 909 ypm and only 54 birds in race time. Flying 629 miles what would you do with her. :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/
  25. Very bad behaviour but don't speak to RSPCA as it will be just another stick to beat us all with
