  1. Well me Kirky x Spangle flew Palamos this year and only about 10% home so what's funny about Kirky's
  2. Pair of Taveirne Rigole latebreds. Bred from the mother of RPRA award winner. Experiance tells me these are gonna be far too big to fly Palamos or Barcelona, so out they go. Full Pedigree available by e-mail peterugby1962@hotmail.co.uk
  3. Good on ya mate. Glad you found home for him.
  4. Looks like a nice bird mate, pitty you don't say where you are. Maybe some more info would be good. I could do with an extra cock but hey ho.
  5. Well I've certainly had more than eneough losses witth my young birds, but I think this is mostly because, I asked them to do what my own young birds would have done, in privious years. New stock heavy losses. No probs. Weed 'em out as soon as you can.
  6. Him and Keith are good friends. Think Keith has been a large influence on him may be wrong but.
  7. Think most good flyers benefit from a good woman, in my case it was my son, but then he went and found other birds. The more flying time the better but ???????????
  8. Good bloke mate see if he has any of Keith Arnolds
  9. Bloody cheek calling us 40 somethings old dogs. The rest of what you say Wiley is dead right though. Tiz why i don't pair till mid March.
  10. bred about 30 gave 4 away and got 7 left. 4 flown Lamballe 274 mile sent 6
  11. yes and Massa bought him from Ian's dad I think
  12. Mate I only give the PMV vaccine, treat for Worms Cocci and Kanker. I never isolate. Why would you? You put your birds in with a 100 potential strays every week.
  13. Might be wrong but. Try Ian Workman if you can find him, he still has pigeons. Think he is either with one of the Derby feds or in one of the clubs in my fed, Warwickshire. Worth a try. Best o' luck.
  14. By the sound of it mate time is all it needs. There are some sad people about I have a racer here that had her ring cut off, but she breeds winners so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Many birds on here for sale, or just free, but often people don't say where they are. With the cost of transport in this financial climate!!!!!!!!!! Come on guys let us know roughly where you are.
  16. I've been to the club week in week out this year and most weeks I aint clocked. 1 week up the ladder trying to get in cos we had locked ourseves out. Some weeks at work. Most o' the time watching me birds come back from me old house. Some times just miles behind. Happy with my lot............ You bet, started with just three broken cocks, one was hawked the week before Palamos the other two went and I got one. Had just 8 young birds left to send to Lamballe 274 mile sent six kept the two youngest back. Was 57th.. Yes I'm happy... Just a 3rd prize in the club but two cards from BBC.......
  17. Keith Arnold is the man for sprinting with his Staff van Reets
  18. Well I've given a pair from my Palamos pigeon and the dam of RPRA award winner to a new starter this year. We've all got to help any body new to the sport. I'm 46 and my generation still keep "doing" god knows what my sons generation will do. No bird clubs, skitles teams, darts teams. When I had a motorbike as a young lad most bikers were my age. I now have BMW 800 and most bikers are still my age. I played Rugby yesterday and half the team were about 40 my brother played and he is 52. It aint just pigeons.
  19. The answer is obviously yes. I did see the bird in Question and was tempted but!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did look at the dordins and was not put off by breed but I don't keep prisoners.

    stock question

Wet nests are watery droppings round the nest, not nice and firm. Tiz the one thing I look for first. Either way you don't need 'em.
  23. Think this sounds right to me yearlings 350/400 mile but then that's eneough for the season.

    stock question

Breed 6 race the lot, if you have 6 left at the end of young bird racing, keep 'em. If none, out 'em. If 3 or 4 split and re pair. Any with wet nests split and re pair immidiately. Then if they have wet nests again out they go.
