  2. As for you two Why didn't some one say I could have brought 'em with me on Tuesday. I did put a thread on here asking if any body wanted birds bringing from Nelson to Rugby.
  3. I treat with Ivermectin regular. My vet has retired and gone to Scotland. Bloody good stuff if you can get it !
  4. I would never train my south roaders north but. I would happily race from the north with south roaders. 21st sec 281st NFC Tarbes just 3 races down the west country and in to Perth 13th sec NRCC. The ONLY streches of water worth worrying about is between Lerwick and Scotland or France in to Ireland
  5. Hatch in may go all the way, Hatch in june the real tune.
  6. Well my yearlings are all going 515 mile as they went 280 as young birds hatched in April but I have a pair bred in January that will go to the Higher Littleton young bird open from 350 mile.
  7. Your not wrong mate. My mate in our club has had the van hees for many years and he is always in the mix at any distance.

  10. Sounds right but I think your problem is moths.
  11. Don't go till the race birds are home, evenings are best for me and I go saturday or sunday.
  12. Wait till there all ready and flying well then go 5 mile min mine go straight in at 12. They gotta be flying over an hour first mind.
  13. Think you should have a pm on 'em if you can. Best find problem and then look for your money back. I've had good birds from same stud, but have heard he has had problems this year. Don't let it get on top of you, tiz always worth another try.
  14. They aint moved much then ;D Credit to you though. Mine look quite happy thanks. Lost one o' me stock cocks whilst at yours though.

    magpies

Tiz true magpies can be a pain in the arris but then so are squirrels. I caught 5 maggies last year after seeing one on the trap.
  17. If you feed something like peanuts they will gorge them selfs, hopper feed sounds right. Other than that was your wormer good enough?
  18. Mate you never know wether it would be any good or not 98% are not, but yes same way bred as 2 nd sec 20th MNFC. Shame, but it happens, I've done similar myself and now they only ever go 10 mile
  19. Does that mean we have no birds going up or down the M6 then.
  20. If you aint done it you're gonna do it sooner or later. Best o' luck mate.
  21. Well it certainly don't seem right or fair, but good birds will still perform well at the distance after several days in the basket. I'd be inclined to have some thing to say but ? Cost and time will be a major influence. I wouldn't be happy but I'd still send.
  22. I give cider vinegar and milton on alternate days all year round. Yogurt on the food when the young have been weaned off.
  23. I'm off to collect some babbies on tuesday 12th may should anybody want to send or collect with me I'd be willing to share the petrol. 07834 811322 Pete

    FAO DJW

Yes I bought a 10 year old hen from Massa, and looked after well they CAN still produce. Mine has a nice pair in the nest at the min (first nest). If the hen lays but they don't hatch, tiz either the cock or mineral deficiency. Well done
  25. Do as your vet says mate. But once you've got them healthy again you'll keep e-coli at bay by acidifying the gut. I use cider vinegar or you can use lemon juice.
