  1. midlotian fed basketing put back 24 hours
  2. this is what you are after
  3. take a few of the birds droppings and 2 swabs from it,s throat then send to get tested.kill it and bin it.it is hard to win with a bird that has been healthy everyday of it,s life .highly unlikely to win with one that has been ill. a quick test might stop other birds getting what this one has.
  4. like john has said it take special birds to do the 500 600 plus races.some of you men that have raced birds at these distances for years .how much harder is it now compared to years ago to get birds to race it .how much bigger are your losses from the channel racing, with all the new technology mobile phones tv radio army radar pylons up and down the country ect ect (no experience at these distances myself yet)
  5. when you go to pick birds up ask for a small bag of what the birds have been fed on .that should help a bit
  6. rasbul is right a wee bit cider vinegar once a week.some of us add multi vitamins once a week.which i think is a good thing the better condision you get late breeds in the better the birds will be after winter.the best tip i got when starting with race birds was clean water clean food and clean grit.
  7. plus 2 from me your getting near the number you are after
  8. come on SPAIN the home of the one night stand.their is more fun to have in spain
  9. hobby,s are alot smaller than sparrowhawks. hobby,s will hunt flying insects over any ground including water they are not as aggressive to each other .unlike sparrowhawks they will attack other sparrowhawks if on or near their territory
  10. he is right you don,t ask you don,t get.i thought you would have had some offers of yb,s from some of the members by now

  16. their will be approx 100,000 yb,s bred in scotland this year,i for one never thought it was as much as that, i have a list of contacts for stray 2010 yb,s from the s.h.u .i think evry member will get one it will make it a bit easier to report lost yb,s that come in to your loft.

forgot how to put picture on gallery red pied and her dam and sire
  18. i think duplicating birds in to nationals is a good idea .especially for flayers like myself with a small team.this year the fed i am in midlothian did not go with s.n.f.c. they went on their own .last 2 races with the almond Vally fed.last race maidstone liberated on a Friday 15 birds home on day hundreds lost total disaster. if we went with national i don,t think they would have lost so meny birds .i would send to nationals rather than fed evry time.as for pensioners having to pay £3 per bird if your fed doubles up with nationals the cost to send in the fed i am in is only a £1 inland or £2 to go with the national inland .
  19. happy birthday you should have popped down for your present
  20. i don,t think as many yearling went to these races years ago.i think ypres is a good stepping stone for birds to fly over the channel the following year. well at least i hope so. you will be right on that Gareth as i am new to national racing and don,t know to much about it,s history from previous year. that is one of the reasons i would not go to a meeting to vote for a certain race route. better to leave that to the more experienced members that said i would still like them to keep both inland national .to use to set birds up for further. hope to have birds to send one or two to the over 500 mile races next year with a bit of luck
  21. i think they should keep both inland races as a lot of fliers have sprint middle distance birds.it gives them a chance to race at national level. i don,t think dropping any of the races is a good idea .as we only send to the races we want to send to.also both inland races will give the S.N.F.C. more profit. it would be good to see them put it in to a better transporter
  22. i sent birds to eastbourne last year cost £10 to join for it .loved it far better than club racing joined the s.n.f.c this year and have sent birds to 3 races .it is a grate buzz getting a bird out a national.
  23. i am glad you have got another 2 especially the one from bovington gives me hope to get 2 lost at eastbourne
  24. how is their body weight have you treated for canker cocci and worms
