  1. it does not really mater as we all know pigeon racing is in decline.i think putting the feds together would give birds more of a chance getting up the road. how many time have members of all the feds ubove lost good birds through clashing with bigger fed heading south. on some race days you might have 4000 heading south then half hour behind another 4000.plus the birdage would be massive to get to the top of it or near the top would be a good accomplishment
  2. i think if i was going to it i would go for QUINNY,S.as i am not going i think an invite for tea and coffee and biscuits will go out to him ( you never know what a chocolate biscuit will get you )
  3. I THINK THE ONLY PERSON THAT COULD PUT UP A RING LIST IS STEVEN HIMSELF AND HE IS NOT A MEMBER ON HEAR.
  4. NOT SURE ON HOW MANY MEMBERS BUT I CAN TELL YOU THEIR BIRDAGE WAS DOWN TO ABOUT 2000 BIRDS AT THE START OF YB SEASON .WITH 4595 RINGS GOING TO MEMBERS THIS YEAR. COMPAIRD TO YEARS AGO WHEN AN EASY 5000 PLUS WENT DOWN AT THE START OF YB RACING.THEIR IS STILL (ALSO DOWN TO ONLY 9 CLUBS WITH EDINBURGH PREMIER THE STRONGEST CLUB)
  5. it does my nut in the way some midlothian members go on about pentland fed and the way some pentland members go on about midlothian fed. it is like rival football teams it seems stupid to me .i have mates in both feds. i think in my perfect racing word almound vally fed fife fed east of Scotland fed midlothian fed and pentland fed . should all have the same race program liberated together yb,s and ob,s. (WISHFUL THINKING)i also think with numbers like this coming up the road we would have less losses. can only hope birds from midlothian and pentland go up together this saturday.
  6. it looks like a young crested helmet.it,s crest will be more prominent after the 1st proper moult omo
  7. this weekend sees midlothian pentland and east of scotland feds having their open from Newark.how many members agree or disagree with birds getting liberated at the same time . i for one would like to see them liberated TOGETHER

  15. i have just come of the phone to one of the good guy,s in our sport.steven aitchson of eyemouth has 34 yb strays in his baskets watering and feeding them looking after them .doing this is a top class gesture but it is holding him back from training his late breeds as baskets full of strays .it would be good if them that have a stray,s down their to get their finger out and get them back. S.P.D,S is only a phone call away. THANKS VERY MUCH STEVEN AITCHISON. gary c blaz
  16. it will depend on how many get home from newark this week . which ever birds get home will go to yb national.unless i think they could not fly it. 18 tops 0 bottom
  17. the early races can and will be won by natural yb,s but when you get further out the darkness yb are just about unbeatable.as yearlings the natural birds get their own back omo
  18. pentland hills and east of scotland up at 6.25 selby midlothian up at 6.30 selby being in midlothian fed looking at only a 5 min difference i was not happy. been told from young conveyor that their was no pentland transporter beside them when birds liberated at selby' is their 2 libration points at selby
  19. 14 out of 20 1st 2nd club midlotian fed.
  20. we all have difrent ways of training and racing our birds. if his way or her way or anybody's way was the right way we all would be doing the same. to start yb off training at 10 mile i would agree with as i do the same myself .as long as yb,s are ranging well .this year due to circumstances my yb,s only had 2 10 mile trainers before 1st race 60 mile. all 30 home after training and 1st race.it takes years to learn the right way and wrong way to train and race birds.best advice ask some of the older guys that have raced birds for year, then take out of what you think would work for you.i have yet to meet one that does not give you at least one bit of sound advice.
  21. £50 TO A £100 A YEAR AS YOUR LOFT WONT TAKE MUCH ROOM AND THE LAND IT IS ON WON,T BRING MUCH CASH IN ANWAY.PLUS TELL HIM IT IS A HOBBY
  22. selby 170ish 18 to go. pentland and midlothian are at same race point all birds coming in to same area.put them up together .DOUGHT IT
  23. WELL DONE ANDY AND TO ALL THAT TIMED IN. to be truthful i was going to say earlier on today you would need a calender not a clock to time yb,s in from that distance with only 50 odd birds away . (what do i know) WELL DONE
