  1. well Done all . Matt had a particularly good race 4/5 in an hour of each other with Lanarkshire on Saturday . And for Derick topping the fed also .
  2. Thanks Andy
  3. Meaning ??? I thought Lanarkshire were racing from kelso a few weeks back but let go from Dunbar ? So what is the problem or as you say clash of personalities ?
  4. Glasgow up 7_45 catterick s\West wind
  5. Wasn't that long ago we got out Fed result from week before handed into club each week when transporter turn up to pick birds up for race
  6. I think that a result in 48 hrs after race is fair enough .not every Secretary has the free time to do it at the drop of a hat a life outside pigeons being a factor guys .
  7. 100% something must change .I've said it for years and have hardly raced a youngster for years .I think race youngsters earlier rather than later .when feds are down the road a bit we could go together which leaves transporters free then have short races 60 miles is enough i think . If fancier know early enough they could breed earlier and have youngsters to race in may\june.before young Percy gets out the nest .and yes they will starve .not all but def some that's better than fattening them up with our babies.
  8. Spoke to a mate last night .lost a lot of youngsters at the Berwick race .big one reported in Selby by a non fancier .it was a week before he could get it picked up .lady wasn't keen on keeping it for that time .had a day off work drive from Johnstone renfrewshire to Selby picked bird up .two days later same bird nailed in neighbours garden by hawk .
  9. On way home yesterday caught in slow ish traffic witnessed a sparrow hawk chasing a streeter right past the front of my van . Pigeon flew into a thorny hedge ,hawk right in after it and the lights changed I had to move the hawk had it by the wing . So be aware of strikes at loft as a lot of small birds have already left for winter . Ps it was on main road and had nowhere to stop or I would have chased it off . Ps it was the cock s/hawk .
  10. Being our feds controller I hate folk having a pop at others ,everyone of us do this job to the best of our ability .having birds in convoy of not u try and do the best u can .sometimes it's not right but it's not ment .going by the forecast for Sunday it was to clear away mid morning from West coast but unfortunately it never cleared at all .not a bad call just the weather changed .to all that have a pop try a wee shot at doing this job and see how much works involved .it's a thankless job and your just one race away from getting hung from the nearest free .Carry on doing what your doing Tommy .
  11. Factor in our crazy race program first race to me 82 miles next race over 100 miles and I'm not the longest flyer .could not make AGM as I was working .or i would have spoke my mind .our Fed used to start at cockenzie 65 mile to me x2 races then Dunbar x2 82 mile their 5 th race was just over 100 miles now for some mental reason some idiots decide start at Dunbar 82 then go to Berwick over 100 second race also factor in the heat youngsters not taking a drink etc disaster waiting to happen .but hey ho the race controller will get the blame.probably.
  12. Who is all racing today .we are at Berwick today .

I wonder what kind of race it would have been had the wind been on the nose instead being up their er se by about 15 mph lots of birds returning that went awol at previous races proves this .think u could have Fed then anything and they would still have made home .brilliant race with brill returns .well done all involved .

  16. There is no other fee!ing like it timing in from across the water being Belgium or France ,different completely I've spoke to fancied that have said they get as big a buzz from winning at 100 miles ,absolute nonsense .they haven't had the buzz of timing in when there's hardly a pigeon timed in and you get one WOW .I've not had it for a few years due to a lot of factors ,next to watching your kids being born .it's way up there .for you guys that haven't experienced it give it a real go you won't be disapointed trust me .
  17. Absolutely outstanding pal 2nd sect 4th open in one national and the same day 2nd section 5th open in the other , brilliant flying pal well done from me and Karen
  18. Top class pigeon man and a gentleman to boot , from first race to last always well in , congratulations robert .
  19. Steven i never sent but I spoke to derik hay about the rain belt on Saturday morning .we got it Friday and told him if the birds run into the same type of weather we got then it would put them down .heavy drizzle rain with very low cloud and poor visibility it lasted for hours .this same weather front was moving South East .but even if it did put them down you would think they would pile in Sunday .don't think that happened .
  20. Anyone got a,spare one need to transfer some youngsters .

    Snfc Gold Cup

He will only need to use a,manual clock if he times that pigeon .but u are bang on if it is timed then all birds need to be timed by the same clock .how it was missed is beyond me .some one wasn't concentrating.
