  1. Surely after 19 years you'd have enough of the cock ,or have you lost them all ,or why not just breed of his offspring ,its just seems to be a lot of bother to get that one last youngster.
  2. Empty your in box
  3. Have a hen here ,no racing no training straight into 500 miles and wins every time, but she is on open hole 24/7
  4. The whole world of pigeon fanciers has now saw this ,shame on those saw called fanciers trying to sweep this under the carpet.
  5. Must be one of the biggest clubs in the north paddy and many on here a right the fanciers are killing it themselves by friggen greed, they can't rear enough young birds and can't send enough birds.
  6. Options differ he had it his own way for years his corn was always highly priced and never did the fanciers any favours much better keenly priced corn on the market now,he had to drop his prices simple as.
  7. Is that 25kg or 20kg.
  8. Very well done gareth your dad would of been proud of you.
  9. what planet are you living on moscow master thers maybe 10 years left in it ,we do have an ageing population of fanciers with few if any replacements coming onboard, wake up and smell the coffee mate.
  10. yeah probably agree with andy, even maybe keep a few fancies etc.
  11. get well soon andy.
  12. google IHU S ring list for that year ,prob best way.
  13. go for it ,their van der rhees are outstanding ,my mate bought them in this year,i have some of their older strains which i cross with my own and they are doing the channel for me no probs, especially if you live near them happy days, dont listen to anyone that trys to put you of them i swear by them and me myself after 30 years buying peoples rubbish i went to louella and never looked back, now i would not buy anywhere else only louella but if you do buy of them take it easy with them the first year dont expect them to be world beaters ,look after them dont hammer them and thell look after you, good luck.
  14. fantastic flying by newcombe bros and look at the velocitys and day birds and head winds, must of been the best racer scotland has ever seen.
  15. i had them, very close to but i coulnt even get them from a 175 mile channel race, why i dont know i just coulnt get my head round it as they looked the type, also i keep a open loft, hopper feed, single toss etc,i always seem to get my own but not them they were the worst birds ive ever had,i know chris gorden does well with them, fair play to him but i think they would need brought down a generation or two to settle to a new area, also i found them very wild it just seemed to be bred into them but then you will always hear of the odd fancier that does okay with them.
  16. yes flycaster but you could count them on one hand, ask mark gilbert about the old strains, and why would we need hard day birds in ireland its middle distance get a move on type of birds we need, ten hour pigeons to sprint 500 miles not home 500 miles and especially for a new start old strains would put him outta birds hes better with something modern,to many fanciers stuck in a time warp nowadays we must move forward or get left behind or worse still walk in with your clock half an hour behind the leading birds everyweek, even though i myself keep the old strains they are to slow as a matter of fact ive purchased brasspennings to cross into them this year to give them a move on,but they are lovely birds to look at black splash reds, blood reds mealys, silvers ,broad heads short legs ,one flight tails, violet eyes sounds good doesnt it, but they are only plodders ,homers whatever you want to call them, the modern strains leave them for sitting ,they do have guts yes but not speed ,and defiently dont take heavy training,or to much racing, not like the modern widowhood strains,so my point is if your a new starter purchase middle distance birds from an honest fancier in your own area and iam sur thers plenty.

    Strange

have never ever heard of anything like this ever.very strange indeed.
  18. Ive a good barker here it never stops keeps cats away lol,i have a touch of barker in my own pigeons but of a performance hen, good channel birds ,but pure my opinion isthat they are to outdated youll breed a hundred to get one, forget about dinasaours and go get urself a good up to date winning bloodline janarden or vanloons etc if you go for them older familys you will take one step forward two steps back,i know as i keep the old strains but iam lucky as mine are blended into a family and have sorted the rubbish out by the basket over ten years, save yourself years and you have asked for advice and ive give you it,at the end of the day its your choice,i take it your new start or novice ,anyway enjoy your birds whatever you decide.
  19. its called fretting, some will some wont ,these sort of pigeons a very hard to break, usually they are the kind of pigeons that are hard to lose racing, they would fly threw a brick wall to get home,it will take 8/10 weeks to settle to a nest but just be patient thell be fine.
  20. i paddy thats cause your rich, all them night shifts lol.get them distance birds ready for truro 340 lol.
  21. they look good but probably expensive,v perch probably these worst perch invented, pigeons to hard to catch on these and flights are sure to get damaged with them, box perches made with old pallats i find the very best and because of ther width stay reasonably clean and birds easy enough caught on them if ther semi tame.v perches need to be wide apart so a lot of room required ,ther okay for a avairy ,but everyone to their own.
  22. probably the best breeding mix ive saw in many years ,bought a bag this week and i wont be adding any thing to it,what for, this is a proven mix made by one of the best feeding companys in the world, and probably a decent price at 14 quid a bag with the extra free, not like that local rubbish with dryed up wheat etc at the same price.
