David Reed's Vandenabeeles are great pigeons. I have topped the Fed and open races at least 12 times with them since 2013 and have also topped the Fed by crossing them with W. Hay's birds. I don't fly widowhood, roundabout or any other system. The birds win in spite of me because they are great pigeons!

Billy deserves the results he is getting. He has obtained some of the best birds you can buy. He puts in hours of training every week, a fantastic set up and loft management,if the detractors think it is easy to obtain his fantastic results they should move down to his area and try to beat him.

SHU delegates have contacted NEHU stray centre. The arrangements are being made to bring the pigeons back to Dougie Bald.s. Big John Bird, The SHU delegate for Almond Valley is making the arrangements. There are now 64 SHU pigeons.

David Reeds Vandenabeeles; Davids birds are responsible for a number of national wins, of course you need top flyers like Billy to do justice to the birds.Well done billy.

The S.H.U. committee would like to thank first of all, Archie Herd and Ian McKay for the professional way the S.H.U. Charity Sale was run by Pigeon Basics; also a big thank you to last year's judges Billy Holland, C & C. Rae, J.F. Bosworth, J & G. Peggie, J. and J. Hood, John Jamieson and John Mechan for donating such good pigeons to the sale. Let us not forget the Pigeon Basics members who once again have shown how generous they are when it comes to raising money for good causes. All the money raised will be forwarded to the Medical Team dealing with research into pigeon lung disease. Once again, a big thank you to all concerned from the S.H.U. Committee.

Have to agree with all your comments about Walter. The Solway Fed has in my opinion never had a greater representative to the SHU than Walter, he makes sure the Solways interests are always looked after, and very seldom does not come to a meeting.

,This has occurred more than once. What UNIKON does not publicise is that the Base Station has a CR2032 Battery (230ma) and the Pocket Clock has a CR2450 Battery(560ma) and the Pocket Clock uses less current. I have had my Pocket Clock since 2000 and never had to replace the battery. To quote a written statement from UNIKON Q- What does it cost to replace a Battery. A- £20 UNIKON Belgische where charging 36EUROS for a battery change recently.

John does a fantastic job, £30 including the postage back to the owner. Normally a 3 day return.

John has arrived at Catterick, birds now having a drink and he will give them a light feed. Good luck for the race tomorrow.

Many thanks to John Jamieson and the president John Bird for the outstanding work and effort the both put in last night and from early this morning to make sure the ALMOND VALLEY members raced their birds today.

I met John Sweeny the SNP's "guru" on economics, more than six months ago and questioned him on what basis had he promised he would turn Scotland in to a "promised land"? His answer was all based on OIL. This was to pay for all the freebies and fund the N.H.S. in Scotland. I stated at the time to him and his supporters, the price of oil would fall but as you now know, they were all on cloud nine. Now they are all asking the U.K. government to safeguard the oil industry in Scotland which of course, they will.

Derek Hay one of the best guys you will ever meet. Derek has done so much to help others. It was Derek who pestered The Lottery Fund to give grants to Pigeon Organisations. He is the first to help new fanciers and has given hundreds of young birds to sales. It is time to give him the respect he deserves and allow him into the Lanarkshire Fed.

This is not true, Martin and myself always spoke to each other on race days and never had any disagreement. So why have you made this statement.

The SHU has appointed J. THOMPSON and he is making a fantastic job. Do not fall for the scare tactics about UNIKON. The Confederation have taken up this matter.

I have checked rings back to 2011 and no difference. Specification for this year's rings have not changed. In actual fact SHU rings for 2014 appear to be the same as GB rings for 2013. I have rung my pigeons with no problem and I agree with one of the previous comments, is this the same scaremongering again?

Horrific reports about groups of guys paying with counterfeit £20.00 notes for pigeon products and others stealing thousands of pounds from stands. In one case - this was over £6000. 00. Theft from stands appear to be the order of the day. I know when I had hundreds of pounds stolen from our stand at Blackpool, I went to see security to see if the security cameras had recorded anything, it was a waste of time as it appeared very few, if any, were working or used. They did not appear to be at all interested . I went to the police station to report the theft and all they did was give me an incident number. It would appear the security has not improved since then.

IAN, TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU. WICKER BASKETS, IN MY OPINION, SOME TIME IN THE NEAR FUTURE, WILL BE DEEMED UNSUITABLE BY THE ANIMAL WELFARE AUTHORITIES FOR PIGEON TRANSPORTATION. IAN, ASK YOURSELF WHY IS IT YOU ARE IN THE MINORITY ON THE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. COULD IT BE THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE MONETARY VESTED INTEREST IN MAKING SURE WICKER BASKETS ARE USED, WHILE OTHERS APPEAR TO HAVE AND WANT TO PROTECT THE MONEY GOING TO CERTAIN FEDERATIONS.

Try Delivery Solutions Scotland 01698 389 464.Used them 3 times, £30 it cost.

It is a brilliant product. Almond Valley have used it for years on the transporter to stop cross contamination from the drinkers. A good product for the Loft, downside it will turn your drinkers brown.

I spoke to Ann at the SHU to-day and she informed me that after Saturday's race, several Pentland pigeons and others, have been reported from the N.E.of England and Steven Aitchison is collecting them from the Cabin Store and Delivery Solutions Scotland Ltd have offered to collect them from Steven Aitchison without charge and take them to David at the SHU Stray Centre. A big thank you to Steven and Jamie at Delivery Solutions Scotland.

I agree with you Bobby. The problem in fact if there is one is down to human error, the same problem can be said about mechanical clocks using rubber rings.
