If thats the forecast, why are lanarkshire not going on there own, it would be odds on if it was not a snfc race, plus a lot of people are not in the national,3/4 days in baskets
  4. sorted thanks
  5. came in with my young birds poor thing 2tail flights left seconderies out and 3 flights out in 1 wing NEHU 18 GF 1781 RACE RUBBERED
  6. well its been a hard one, a lot of good birds sitting this one out, 6/10 today over 6 hours apart and all had it hard considering most races they have had where no more than 3 to 4 hours up to 167 miles there fitness for a 8 hour race came into question, time on wing is a must and they need more races at 200 miles before thisfirst national, other feds have already been to races over 200 miles plus before this race?
  7. WHAT DO YOU THINK THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN, VERY INDIFFERENT RACE RETURNS
  8. 14.47 FOR MY LOFT

  10. Every. Other club or fed it seems has delayed there race for tomorrow is Lanarkshire going to do same or are we going as programme any info please
  11. keep the carcass of the pigeon where it lay, get some baking paper, and spread some honey all over it thinly, lay bird on a quarter of the paper the hawk will be back and hopefully will catch its wings or feathers on it, and ravel itself on it thats how i solved my problem, some fly paper works as well just unravel it and leave around it keep an eye on it though other birds will be attracted too
  12. DEREK i was only showing, what you just replied, it was a swings and roundabouts situation and 4 sections would be a better option, and im sure your results would still be as good, and anything that promotes and takes our sport forward is a damn site better than the way we are self implodimg ,we ALL have to come to the table for the sports future, and all the best for next season to you sir
  13. derek you lost out in reims, but you gained in ypres and buckingham, by being in section F and you had a superb season
  14. I think if we sent less birds to each race and bred less , surely this would help,we are keeping the food source out there with the amount of birds we send, even peregrines are territorial less food, less for them to rare so many young, they would then impact there own survival ,i mean some people have sent 60 to a race, and then complain when they lose 30 of them that week, of course bop gets the blame, to many birds mean more chances of being struck less is better ,basket no more than 12 per race ,keep the races at 60 to 80 miles for 3 4 weeks then all your young have had an education then go 110 to 120 for 2 weeks then 150 for the birds who still have feathers, you will probably find that a lot of members are in mid week clubs doing this already, getting good returns from small libs, also remember that our over eager feds are putting our birds up in some pretty bad weather, and there to blame for some terrible returns, for example catterick worst race of the year , in my opinion, lets get back to pickin your pooler from 10/12 rather than sending 40/50 and just wanting anyone of them to turn up ,also expence why keep so many, this would be my way forward ,cut down the food source even if we have to start later.
  15. 1 early this morning in good nick probably lay down due to weather more than bop 16/24

  20. It makes you wonder ,there quick enough to respond to how there in the pole posistions, but not interested enough to give there birds time, MR GILMOUR ASIDE thats the modern pigeon game ,every person who didnt time in is watching this ,and at national level very amateur we are well behind other nationals responding to timing within one hour or RISK BEING DQD but this is not the birds fault.
  21. well done to the owners and birds who made it home today, early rise for me but im sure you guys who have already timed will be up early as well looking for more,
