  1. That's a painful loss guys, birds of that calibre and potential candidates as well, so its not all our bad ones that get lost, wishing they turn in for youse and me, it is starting to put me off keeping them as we cant get them to a mature age for the longer races and when we do get them to 2,3,4, they have been through the mill and lost confidence for racing in my opinion ,ive put a few down over the years as they wont leave the basket or just plod home.
  2. At end up 22/31 20 sunday 1 Monday 1 Tuesday mostly yearlings down which didn't get any help from last years y/bird progam as weather was dire and they had 3 kelsos and a terrible Catterick but we have to take what is on offer, a weeks rest and see how the feathering is for kettering. young birds are falling apart just now throwing flights for fun .

nice one, two ,on a difficult day for some birds well done
  4. There are plenty early birds to justify the lib ,is it that we where up ourselves so open to strikes, cant see weather a problem I think going by my returns BOP problems are a factor, Saturday would have been safer in numbers.

  6. Good bird the winner it didn't follow the pack first then head back nice one
  7. An honest answer 19/31 worksop, only 1 since 3pm its met up with bop plenty feathering missing I do think they have been run ragged in places early birds fine unusually big gaps, but I bet I am the minority

thought I would put this up now it is recovering ,this bird was brought to me by a member of my golf club whose daughter managed to save it from some seagulls that where pulling at it as it could not fly away she says, on handling the bird I could tell why, absolutely no weight on it at first I thought it was going light and would be better of away, the girl was beside herself when I suggested it would be a kindness to help it on anyway, on reflection as it was not mine i let it have a box in the loft and syringed some fluids into and some small seeds but high ho it must have been wanting to live as it has spent a week room and board is still not halve its normal weight but its getting there and the girl has been round twice to see how its doing so its out of danger and time to move on to its owner it does look as though its been out a while some main flights out and had plenty lice no id or ets anyway a long winded way to report it on here, but the young girl is here and reading this and would like a happy ending as would I cheers
  16. You are correct that back then we did have to get on with it and have someone be able to time your birds in, that was usually the case of a holdover, and then the members all understood was part of the sport, I am pretty sure if you asked them for a midweek race program they would have moaned about it, I am in no way trying to score points only make one, I have ets but cant be at loft for midweek races so that's is my fault your clock must be in an hour or so after timing and with covid I wouldn't put anyone in a position some of our members still rubber there birds and cant be at loft to time in again covid would be a problem for them in one way or another I am sure they would like to get there birds some time on wing even if they cant be there for return, they are not racing and out of any competitions organized by our federation that was my point and yes lets get back to weekend racing the delegates do a great job just getting us to a start line and must be commended by all fanciers.
  17. just an observation I notice that the birdcage was down 2744 from Saturday and that 47 less members got to go to the midweek race maybe that's a point we should take into account when we do these races that not all fed members can be able to go or be at there loft midweek as they are at work, £1000 pound plus lost in revenue to the fed for a 60 mile training toss any thoughts for those members who don't have ets etc
  18. it would be better if this was published on the Lanarkshire feds website also not everyone looks on basics and therefore coming from the Lanarkshire committee
  19. don't know who makes these programs up but whats happened to basketing on the night and see what Saturday brings we have had some wrong weather forecasts a few times and not everyone can be at home for midweek racing, whats happening to pigeon racing as a weekend sport
  20. well done all. looks like you got a sore wind there on those velocities compared to the rest of the convoy, what is the distance to coalburn fanciers, hope your returns are good

    Training

The same thing can happen when you flag your birds and they could be injured whilst doing that, meaning, i could be getting the same problem if i get a bird injured and reported and i have to travel local to pick it up same danger, so am i going to have to keep the birds in during this lockdown or enjoy letting them out.
  24. GOOD MORNING TO YOU
