  1. Be interesting how them three cocks go Ryan Wonder if you fed the peas or beans Sunday then barley Before the peanuts or even sunflower Will look on with interest how they go
  2. That should be good, I can't think of a better fancier than Mark
  3. Hi mate Does he train south then switch them north? When I raced south I trained my ybs south but once the birds had one south road race the following year as yearling I only went north due to the time , I never had my clock set for the inland but over the water they came well as I lived away from the loft they had a hopper of beans and three or four feeds of Gerry and fats prior to marking one year they were in the top 20 of the combine in the four water races I sent to the year before they had a 3 rd and 4 th combine. Now I have more time and race on the north I wouldn't dream of taking them to far off the line I want them to hit on race day and feed set amount twice a day and no beans after Sunday , pretty much the same pigeons

That's interesting , I thought barley was high carb low protein glad you posted that list
  5. Very true Be interesting to know if he trains the ybs around the clock , or on set north and south route I know he sends ybs both ways but wonder how he trains them leading into the season
  6. It's strange when you swop birds I changed from south to north this year and won the fed with a hen that scored many times for me south yet also had a hen that had a 3 rd and 6 th fed that never scored at all on the south and was only kept due to being paired to a decent cock and they way she was in the hand etc Some seem to benefit from the change
  7. Cheers Ryan I notice the birds you are getting in are real distance birds , don't forget the Bicc have loads of 250 to 400 mile type races which could well suit your family of birds that you race north

I use 50pc Gerry and 25 pc maize 25pc energy on Wednesday night to thoursday and just energy mix Friday , it there is a head wind I add more energy mix Thursday I think fats are vital after about a 100 miles
  9. Hi Ryan Are you going to turn your current old bird team to south or continue on both routes
  10. Well done on this thread Ryan I have found it very interesting thanks for doing it

  15. Well done Ryan again that's top flying thank you for your reply to my question
  16. Hi Ryan Was that 5 grams more all week or from mid week or do you go by the wind that is forecast
  17. Cheers Ryan Best of luck tomorrow
  18. Best of luck for the future
  19. Hi Ryan Can I ask if for example you won with a bird weighing 16oz and on the Tuesday he weighed a little under and you needed 2 grams on him to get the weight back how would you judge how much or what type of corn you would feed him on , I guess I mean how would you know that 5 grams of grub would add 2 grams of weigh or would food not be the way to do it maybe you would you shorten the loft flying a little Be interested in your views as always
  20. i did hear it wasn't a easy weekend racing north road into the London area ,glad your team has recovered well
  21. Hi Ryan Is the weight an average for both cocks and hens
  22. Thanks Ryan I was thinking along the lines of a energy mix with some Gerry mixed in as that is a pretty high fat content but adds carbs to the overall content, would I be far out with this ? Or would you cut the maize in order that they look first for it in the basket as I never understand why birds are fed on a mixture at race points with any form of peas in it when you only want carbs and in the main fat based grains
  23. Hi Ryan when you mention feeding light prior to a distance race do you mean in quantity or light as in barley but the normal amount in weight
