  1. How much do members feed during the moult I feed Just under a oz of moulting mix in the morning and in the evening a handful of barley then beans a little at a time to they get bored , I'm not one for leaving corn down ,so I like them to clear the morning grub by mid day How are others feeding ? won't be long to I have to judge the full day's amount in the morning before I leave for work as no lights in the loft
  2. Birds picked up at 230pm all ok and on there way Information on birds in a envelope stuck to the carrier box Hope they are to the new owners standards
  3. Not that many good Fvw about I have two cocks breeding winners but never see many top ones advertised now days Lovely pigeons though
  4. I tried an experiment with a pair two years ago ,I placed a large nest box high up on the side of me loft and left a pair of yearlings out all winter from the end of the season , they were doing great and I thought maybe they have got wise to the Hawks come late February they were both dead killed by sparrowhawks in a week Maybe if they have a open loft as babies they would get wise It's not for me as in my area Feb to late April the sparrow Hawks are non stop and I prefer my birds in the sky or the loft and not on the loft roof etc although I do let my cocks have 15 mins playing after there evening fly
  5. All the birds are taken now and a few extras Hope they do ok for the new owners I will do the same next year I think after culling of any not to standard , maybe with a few photos next time if that's ok with admin . I had them on basics and elsewhere so I am sorry I didn't have more for the lads on here I think 8 went on here and 6 elsewhere
  6. I am waiting on one chap to confirm but if he doesn't by tonight I will have a pair for you ,
  7. They look a lovely pair of youngsters Lindsay
  8. I think 8 birds are gone mate Where do you live
  9. The older janssen hen and van dyke cock are taken or atleast confirmed they are wanted
  10. The pair of zwols Were £100 the pair when I bought them . they are yearlings and not been bred from so would think they would be worth a try for the courier fee , I may have another zwols hen one of this years bred but unlike the older two I do not gave a pedigree for her
  11. North of London but you are welcome to them but you would need a courier
  12. Yes mate 30 miles north of London
  13. Hi I offer a few birds free I have culled any birds not to standard but have 4 yearling cocks 2 Janssen cross LVR , 1 zwol and one van Dyke cross LVR plus 3 hens a yearling hen zwol , a 2 year old with atleast one fed card a flor Engels plus a 7 year old hen that has bred winners including 2nd fed this year a Janssen I keep 20 pairs of racers and 10 pair of stock so I do not have room for all the birds Brothers and sister to these do ok for me I have breeding records for the Jansen and zwols but the parents of the LVR don't have any as the cost me £75 without peds or £225 with peds and I wasn't paying £150 for a bit of paper , the Engels was breed by John passey but I don't gave a peds for her Club results 2018 11 x 1st 11 x 2nd 8 x 3rd Fed results 2 x 1 st 2 x 2 nd 5x 3 rd So not the best results but they may do someone a favour Only the old hen has been bred from as I don't breed from the racers I have offered these elsewhere just now in order they get seen so may be gone or on the other hand may not
  14. What a fantastic looking pigeon
  15. Sorry he has 7 top Fed one time he was down to 16th ,
  16. Hi Thanks for the interest As a baby the dark cock was trained south only out to 35 miles , the following year I didn't race as I decided to turn north road so in preparation for the following year he was trained north around May time He isn't to good under 100 miles as he only scored once in the fed under 100 miles when you consider that he must have had 6 or 7 races at this distance out of his 16 races he scores most times he goes over that distance , His breeding is Fvw crossed with a janssen soontjen hen I only bred two from him ever and both are still in the loft that I bred this year so hope they do a bit of good
  17. This is my best racer at the moment , he has 8 top 10 fed positions He wasn't raced as a baby or yearling so has only had 16 races in his life

    Autumn Winter

I feed V L moulting but add 20 per cent barley 20 per cent beans I feed them 32 grams once a day I find there is a little corn left at 4pm and gone by 6pm so it's the right amount if it turned cold I would increase it to 35 grams I add garlic oil and dry it with a mix of yeast and poultry spice twice a week Avidress ( they have this all year) and naturaline in the water After the moult 2 parts barley 1 beans 1 part all the stuff I have left in the bins from the racing season
  19. I put a teaspoon of domestics in a 4 pint drinker once a week and just top it up for 2 or 3 days I think it helps clean the crop My old birds get it for 10 days prior to breeding for the stock and about 3 or 4 weeks before the season for the racers
  20. anothet plus is that it does not have the pellets like some of the bamfords mixtures .i was never keen on them
  21. , I purchased 2 bags of the mix added 3 parts to one part barely half part beans and the ybs are flying for a hour plus where a week ago it was a struggle to get them going when I had them on breed and wean and barley I think I may try half my old birds on it
  22. Any members use this bamfords mix , I think with a bit of added fats at the end of the week and a few peas or beans on Sunday it looks a very clean mix Anyone using it?
  23. I use it 3 times a week when breeding and Monday and Tuesday only during the season as I use a little oil Wednesday and Thursday alwYs on the food
  24. They look well
  25. I saw your post on Fb mate a cracker no pigeon and so sad that it never reached home that last time
