  3. no problem mick just need to single out which ones are pals m8 after defra let it slip a basics member had already informed them that i suspected my birds had paramixo hope the piece of s t feels better for it but another lesson learned dont be to honest but no harm done as i had already done everything the correct way and birds are almost over it and let me just say as i expected defra offer no help whatsoever there advice kill them or lock them up for 60 days i have also reported to them apart from the latebreds all youngbirds were vacinated with noblis vacine in march and showed them the empty bottle with batch no there not interested said it may have been a bad batch or they may not have been vacinated properly and that its rife in britain just now i said well does that not tell you something the vacine is not doing its job again not interested told them the latebreds i vacinated took areaction soon as i jagged them and they are now the worse all the rest are over it only 3 of the wee ones still with loose dropings not interested asked why we can only use one vacine thats on the market not interested although they were nice people i now understand why guys do not report this as defra are no help at all there only interest is containment so it does not get to the poultry industry imo and to tell you what you already know keep them locked up and dont let other fanciers in your loft which is all comonsence to any decent fancier got the impression they think not all doo men are vacinating there birds and they maybe right so hope the fine upstanding basic member feels better reporting it i learned nothing from them that i did not already know i could see the point in the racing season but in the winter for f k sake get a life but ill deff get the drinks in for you mick if your there hope the good basic guys will come over and let know who they are taking my pal jim with me he has never been to a presention and is a new start hope it will give him the lift to get to the top of our great sport looking forward to it as ill miss my fed presention with another engagement need to get someone to pick up my trophy from that one sure it will be a good night
  4. wellcome to alan and whizz great site guys enjoy it
  5. morning guys been a wild night here
  6. happy birthday guys
  7. well done steven and all trophy winners
  8. no hard and fast rules pete my 18 yearold bred a yb winner last year when they stop breeding winners or breeding birds that breed winners there done imo m8 i pair my old cocks with young hens and old hens with young cocks to keep the youngsters robust switching eggs from old pairs under yearlings helps to
  9. i know that stevie but you have to start somewhere m8 and his old man is a top doo man so im sure he will keep him right
  10. 100 percent agree with mick winter the cocks in the section with the nest boxes open make sure the same amount of cocks as boxes or even better more boxes than cocks and they will sort themselves out good luck with your first years breeding kenny pair best to best or what you think is your best blood to best blood when your just starting out floating as many eggs off your best pair as you can better to have 10 or 12 yb off your best pairs as 10 or 12 off birds that have not proved themselves use them as feeders
  11. morning guys lovely morning here
  12. morning guys
  13. great thrill for you vince one to remember m8
  14. my old pal john stirling and son used to feed tic beans and lindseed was one the best distance men in burnbank area many years ago
  15. cant see you failing scott you have the tools m8
  16. great to see you have bounced back from all that alan
  17. i use up and over widowhood hen boxes in my yearling section there only 14inch wide 14 inch deep so i cut some thin ply floor inserts and made them 4inch deeper so that the cocks can sit at the front when box is closed the weight of the bowl and the front down holds it in position i then screwed 6 inch strips of thin ply or hardboard inbetween each set of 4 boxes vertical which stops the cocks fighting and jumping from box to box allows me to get 24 boxes in the 8ft section and about 3ft off the ground only thing that would make it better would be slightly smaller nest bowls from the normal size as there a bit big use to be smaller white ones out years ago looked everywhere but dont think anyone makes them now but it works fine for me
  18. well done to all these guys for sharing with us there will always be many lows in our sport but the one or two highs make it easyer to bare keep them coming lads let us share the moment with you good or bad
  19. well done m8 got to say i could have added a lot more lows myself but dont want it all depresion lol
  20. nice one andy and seona youll be back m8 stronger than ever
  21. think your turn will come steven
  22. did things go to plan for you what have been your high and low points did you do what you set out to do for me with the old birds it was another great year for me winning 7 1st clubs 6 seconds 6 thirds 1 st yearling derby 1 st section fed appleby 1 st section 5th open clermont 1 st pigeon gold cup 34th sect snfc ypres 13th 14th 18th sect snfc alencon 18 fed postions so lots to be happy about but still had my highs and lows you would think the high point for me would be winning the section in clermont national which of course im very happy to have won but in my mind it was no surprize as the birds i sent had already proved to me they could do clermont with ease so my expectations were very high but to win the section was fantastic but my high and low and the race i got the biggest thrill and lasting memory of was the the gold cup with the high and low all in the same race i wanted so much to prove to myself that i had the birds and the know how to prepare pigeons for this great race and i fancied a few of them but the wee hen called jenna that was 5th section 11th open clermont as a yearling last year was the apple of my eye but they were all in good order the low for me was hearing the birds were up as i had it in my head if we get a true race ill get one well we did not get a true race with only a handfull of great pigeons getting through the bad weather early on with very big gaps with hours between the birds my heart sank the best team of pigeons id ever sent to a gold cup john feenies words were ringing in my ears when he told me all those years ago the gold cup is the graveyard of champions loseing these birds was just to hard to contemplate for me it would set me back years i thought bang my wee 11th clermont hen hit the board turned her head and looked straight at me and paused as if to say whats up man im here told you i could do it lol as she dropped in the sputnic i jumped up punching the air ya f k n wee dancer i shouted the neighbours must have thought id cracked up i cared not a jot helen my wife came out to see what was going on i got her i said wee jennas home i went in to put it on the snfc web site when out the front window i could see a cheg pied cock with his wings shut droping like a stone for the loft i ran back outside just intime to see him drop in 2 in 10 mins i thought great just got back to the computer after giving them a wee pick when out the window which looks due south i saw a dark cheq cock diving for the loft three birds in a race like this in twenty minutes i thought someones taking the p s everyone must in but the pure relief i felt on finding out i was 13th 14th 18th section and winning a small fortune was out of this world for me as id done what id set out to do timing three good pigeons in the race dreams are made of well that was my high guys the feeling when that wee hen hit board when you know theres not many birds home and the look she gave me will live in my memory for ever her and the clermont section winner that was 18th sect alencon that day will i hope do the double for me next year alencon and clermont all being well and a lot of luck well apart from my youngbirds being sick and loseing some real good birds this year thats been my highs and lows please tell us what your highs and lows have been this season and feel free to be as longwinded as me lol i can still remember when i was on a high for a week because i got a 3rd or 4th club its all about what gave you a thrill as only pigeon racing can so dont be shy
  23. ib and others i understand your concern and can asure you that all deffra safety precautions were taken to make sure no one else was at risk but me and mine i had very good reasons for not informing the maff but arrogance and misleading was not the reason which i shall reveal when im 100 percent sure my birds are clear in the hope it will help others
  24. ill get a wee topic started tonight to give us a wee interest and while i wait on my wee doos getting better almost there now but will be on lock down another week or so to make sure all is as it should be
