  6. just about there now birds have improved everyday with treatment and time once its over ill let the guys know what i have given them and how to handle it as im hearing its rife everywhere a friend phoned me last night to tell me he had it to sendt birds off to be tested and its coming back clear his birds are dying like flys dont waste your time and money they dont have a clue what it is or what they are looking for its deff parramixo related with a mix of other infections throwin in which comes first i dont know but getting a good broad spectrum antibiotic into them for 10 to 14 days deff helps them mines were also revacinated as soon as i seen it then 8 days on amoxycillin and 6 days on enroflox only one or two now with loose dropings keep you posted guys

  9. cheers scott got more vacine yesterday so im going to do my m8 jims latebreds then my old birds and stock birds today then they will all be done again in march got to try something different to protect them only been giving stock birds and old birds my own stuff in the drinkers and it seems to have it confined to the one section or could have been much worse as i have latebreds in every section just glad jim my near neighbour and new start has not got it from me or my birds as thats all a new start needs to sicken them off but ive been very carefull dipping my feet in vircon and changing clothes all the time so far so good allmost over it birds starting to bounce about the loft again great to see them getting back to normal
  10. andy has given you good advice as allways anto just remember there still babies and dont have to be pushed to hard m8 good luck with them nothing wrong with good latebreds bred from good birds when you treat them right you will get your reward from them
  11. much better billy thanks hopeing to be all clear by sunday m8 think ive got off light this time almost sorted having the right stuff at hand and knowing what to expect made a big difference only had to put down eight but the cleaning up two or three times a day and trying to make sure it did not spread to other sections was real hard work for me but the battles won now still 3 or 4 with loose dropings but nothing like it was so i cant complain really apart from the ones i had to put down as all had been vaxcinated with nobills in march and only had to put down one of the unvacinated latebreds that were in beside them that has me baffled as they should have been the worse i thought go figure
  12. sorry to hear this nice man davie rip
  13. thanks for all the advice lads and big thanks to bernie for getting me the paper i need and bringing it to harthill for me your a good man thanks again and to jim who you got it from cheers guys
  14. years ago i would not treat for anything if a going light tablet or some raw coxoid down the throat did not cure what ever a bird had it went in the bin but in those days i won nothing but an odd race or or two
  15. well done guys
  16. know what your saying steven but ive jagged the old birds in november past two years some heavy in the moult did no harm at all they were due to be done anyway as for sand and cat litter theres plenty i could use then shovel up the problem is me not being fit enough to do it m8 plus have pigeon lung the basket paper is easy lifted and easy to get rid of but think im over the worse bit some of the droppings are getting back to normal dont know if the antibiotics or the jagging again is working or both but deff seeing a difference in them just praying the wee latebreds in the section next door dont get it but deff not keen on this nobilis vacine and dell put me off the other stuff and theres nothing else so just have to work with whats on the market its not looking as if ill lose anymore im hopeing to be just about over it bye next weekend so im doing something right i put some adenosan on the feeding today to see if it helps dry them up not drinking as much water as they were so think thats a good sign they could not get enough before so i think there on the mend fingers crossed big thanks to bernie who is trying to get me some basket paper nearer home would have been better but just have to get on with it im a bit happyer today but could cry when i think of what i had to dispose of but could have been much worse ill get by
  17. dan its parramixo virus they have m8 not youngbird sickness theres no quick fix with this it has to run its course its the black cap for the worse of them and treat for secondery infections with the rest and vacinate all again the sickening thing is its all yb that were jagged and raced that are taking it the worse the unjagged latebreds in the same section are not half as bad but i think im over the worse of it now looking a bit better this morning again thanks for the offer of vacines from you guys had a bottle in the fridge and done all the youngbirds and latebreds still seems to be in the one section but have ordered vacine to do the old birds and stock birds as they were due to be done anyway trying to keep the loft floor dry is my problem just now any one know where i can buy a roll of fed basket paper or even half a roll that i can just lift each morning and burn
  18. might need it to buy a youngbird team now wee man lol
  19. never thought it more difficult to inject ian thought birds were taking a reaction to it in the past more so than columbovac and i follow the instrucktions to the letter with all vacines i even wrote to them when it first came on the market telling them i had noticed the birds went back for a few days after vacination they never even came back to me and ask all the guys who have sent birds to be tested there all told they samething its parramixo and a bacteriel infection or a mix of this virus and that virus its bull s t never do they say give them this and it will cure it if they knew what it was they could tell us how to cure it and be worth a fortune but they cant even tell us how to prevent it never mind cure it dont get me started on vets and testing ive enough on my plate just now ian lol i will sort it
  20. waste of time and money steven they havent got a clue know this from the past i will sort this myself as ive seen it more times than most vets and i already know what they have its paramixo virus but this time im better prepaired for it but its no less hard work and scary trying to contain it m8 they have been on amoxycillin mixed with metronidazol for 6 days now plus i vacinated again i put five down that had it full blown as i know im wasting my time with them and i do see a wee improvement today but trying to keep the floor clean is a nightmare using garden lime at the moment to try and keep it dry but as i said i know from the past its damage limitation thank goodness i reared another wee team of latebreds as they might be all the yearlings i have for racing next year but just have to get on with it ill keep you posted guys
  21. i might be totally wrong but ive been thinking there is a problem with nobilis vacine since it first came on the market the plan was all my birds getting done next month but was waiting to see if columbovac would be back on the market anytime soon as i promissed my pal jim i would do his small team at the same time as thats all a novice needs when he is just starting out think ill just have to do the old birds stockbirds and jims latebreds with nobilis asap but after a week it seems only the one section has been affected and not all of them at that but it would have to be the birds id put bye for the future 20 latebreds in the next section totally un affected and looking great so far but with this scurge that can all change very quickly ive seen this all before but not as bad as this might be damage limitation as i know some will get so bad ill have to put the black cap on only the strongest youngbirds will come through this and another hard lesson watch what comes back after being away a while but this is something they should not come back with if they have been vacinated and another reason i dont trust the nobilis vacine but maybe the bird was not vacinated properly so have to give it the benifit of the dout
  22. 10 days ago i noticed there was an extra yb in the section i had put yb that had been raced and 18 latebreds that had been well trained never thought to much about the extra one last saturday i noticed a very strong smell of amonia in the section which never happens in my loft as its opened half way up with good air flow on sunday a mealy was croaking as if with respitory i removed it from the the loft checked the ring and seen it had went down in the first stainmore race this was the extra one gave the yb an antibiotic and put it in an old basket checked it on monday and it has the parramixo virus destroyed the bird and checked my book it was ticked off as vacinated in march oh s t i thought there was unvacinated latebreds in that section when i looked in the section the birds were excreting projectile water i put amoxycillin in the drinker and vacinated all the youngbirds again a long with the latebreds i had nobiliss vacine but did not want to use it as i still have some latebreds in the nest heres hopeing ive caught it in time but its not looking good im sick as a parrot but ill keep you guys informed of my progress in the hope it will help others ps stay away till i sort this guys
