  1. I had a Ch Cock that jumped the first round of eggs every year, normally when sitting about 5 days. The hen would sit a further few days and desert also. {Different hen every year } As it was my best racing cock, I would float his eggs under feeders. When the hen laid her second round of eggs, the pair sat the full incubation period and reared the youngsters as normal.

  10. An exceptional performance too - there were quite a few pigeons clocked on the day in 1980. The previous year was a tougher day imo.
  11. I would agree Davie, a good working day. The 2nd open winner contained Newcombe blood too - I'm sure she was Tracey B - and she went on to win a Gold Award also.
  12. A lot of fantastic pigeons on this result. You've just mentioned your own hen Mick scoring 3 times in the Gold Cup. Feenie's game hen, Strathclyde Lass going on to win her Gold Award in 1981. Newcombe Brothers 14th Open winner, Little Miss Muffet followed it up by winning Avranches the following year, when they did the 1, 2 , 3. No doubt several others went on to score at the highest level too. All dream pigeons

  19. Jocky King of Kirkcaldy had a pigeon - Fairisle King - he was not raced until he was 2 years old, flew the channel 10 times scoring 5 times. He was also a top breeder being sire, grand sire and great grand sire of many winners.
