For what its worth it's my understanding a watering can was purchased by A Mr A McKee from the garden center to help fill drinkers this was not the problem. The problem was an unknown container or drum was used to assist to help make filling the watering can easier. Anyway whats been done is done accidents happen lessons to be learned and a line to be drawn under this unfortunate circumstance all birds seem to be in good health. good luck to all

I remember having my first chance at timimg it was for Wullie Gault who had to go away to work. Any way he basketed the young birds for the last race off the season think he sent five. He had a mealy cock who had won all the previous races i was so excited about catching and timing as my dad hadn't allowed me as yet only not to see a feather in race time. After a couple off days 4 returned all bar the mealy who was so consistent. Wullie gifted to me and dad all that returned plus a a 78 hen.I fancied a blue piet hen and sent it to Airdrie open only for it to lie out any she returned early next morning thats when i learned about being eggy she laid her seconed egg a mistake a would never make agian. She was set up for Averanches and once again it was my chance off my first timing as my mum and dad were going to a wedding. The day came only for me to be chasing up our loft buddy in the pub lol pigeon men.It statrted to go get dark and had been raining for a while when the piet hen hut the landing board i had to phone dad at the wedding and all and sundry came back to the hoose i took the clock to Airdrie to find it closed. Alas it was not to be it was once again out of race. cheers Shug

Cheers mate sadly a lost my dad last October to cancer just when we were talking about getting a few birds. We had to remind him hospital about memories and i brought up the time when he he wrote the wrong number on a transfer and the hen scored in a national 91st section only to be disqulified it brought a tear to his eye but a least he remembered as the staff said he was dilerious cheers mate

Interesting topic, A wee story fae me my first national must have been Rennes in the early eighties my dad hadn't been really interested in the nationals but had tried the last combine fae Averanches a few times.I was 11 or 12 when my dad met a neigbour who had scored well in the nationals in Longriggend with his dad. He confinced my dad to join and me had a 1977 Mealy cock who had been to most races except over the pond. So we joined and set up this old mealy for the race my dad decided myself and mum would take the bird over to Hamilton. We stood at the bus stop with a one bird basket and a very nice pigeon man on his way passed stopped and asked if we were going to Hamilton. He promptly invited us into car and ran us over to Hamilton think his name was Alex Ross fae Fife area. needless to say the old plodder of a mealy homed but out of race time. Mr Ross also ran us home he had been shocked to find a member of or own club and fed had ran past and gave him a dig at Hamilton lol Cheers Shug

I used it as required dad used it before my time and recommended it and i can honestly say never had to use another deworming solution.Had droppings tested and the guy that tested them could not find anything and could not believe it. I have since read all reports re liver damage etc it worked for me and its good enough for humans.

How many horse races are they every year how many are lost over the year that the public dont get to know about albet more are lost or put down due to unforseen circumstances or do not make the grade before they even seen a race course.A bit like pigeon racing i suppose sad maybe for the public to see live on the tv but sorry to say thems the breaks.
