  1. Hi NEHU 06 SED 2175 flew into my loft yesterday, yet when i looked in the combine book and phoned the number for Blackhall HS Sec the number printed in the book isnt right, so if anyone has the correct number for blackhall HS SEC it would be much apprechiated so i can unite this lost birdie with its owner thanx
  2. i call em street peckers ;D i feel sorry for the poor blighters, i think its amazing how they survive with only 1 leg or an eye missing :'( i saw one in the town centre the other week and one of its legs was totally gone, not even a stump left for support poor thing ive oftern wondered of all the birds lost over the years if there is a street pecker in a town centre with my ring on it. the law of probability most likely suggests in my oppinion somewhere there is :B
  3. ;D what a lovely gesture, keep us posted on the winner, i think it would be great also if the winner of the birds, keeps us posted on how they shape up overtime racing ect ... ;D p.s ive just realised your based in hartlepool, not too far from me ;D Can the winner collect in person lol
  4. thanx for the advice, its all been taken on board, im so glad that it seems to be curable, as he is a really lovely well bred young cock that is flying out well and id hate to have to have him culled as he really is a charactor in the loft. ps sorry for hijacking the post :B
  5. Can anyone shed anymore light on protein lumps as i think one of my youngens might have one, he has a marble size black lump on his back which as above oozes blood if knocked, at 1st i thought he had been grabbed by something out flying and ruptured some blood vessels under the skin making a blood blister/ bruise. but its been a week now and its still there !! ;D he still goes out flying with the others,eats/drinks well ect.
  6. The following birds are missing in action ;D The following did not return from UNC Brooklands liberation almost 2 weeks ago NEHU 04 SHOT 3350 (Blue cock) GB 03 k19992 (Blue Cock) Also NEHU 04 SHOT 3362 (Blue hen) Did not return from UNC North weald Liberation last sat. Any info much apprechiated ;D thanx
  7. How was everyones race ??? out of 13 birds sent, so far we only have 7 back, so 6 still missing > me and mum race with shotton fed, so liberation was 14.00hrs for us and we timed in our 1st bird at 17.24 to take 3rd place in club.(the winner was timed in at 17.11) i think a few birds over shot there lofts as ive seen quite alot heading back overs this evening ?? ;D
  8. Just thought id add my doggie his name is buzz and he is a 6yr old border terrier. He is great with the birds just totally ignores them ;D Sharron xxx
  9. thanx alot henrik, ill give them a call
  10. Some fancier wont be too pleased to find out that there Cheq youngster with white flights has found its way to county Durham bird in question is very lightweight but is happily eating and drinking. if anyone can help me contact the owner/club this beastie belongs to it would be much apprechiated ;D thanx
  11. :B oops:B i think ive made a huge miscalculation then ;D i must indeed have janssens, id just been going thru my late fathers stock bird pedigrees and presumed they were van be bosches, as the strain is not listed and they seemed to fit the strain charactoristics. all i know is that they came direct from pauw bros in the netherlands (NL rings) and from paige bros in the uk ;D
  12. Hi just to update i contacted the birds owner " not the happiest bunny to find his bird had taken up residence in Co. Durham" ;D But as i was going up to Berwick on thurs i agreed to liberate it there, which he was happy about . She was a lovely hen, very dainty and bonny compared to my Butch looking Van Den Bosche Cheqs + blues lol i hope she made it back home ps im a terrible sucker for pretty coloured pigeons, mum has to tie my hands behind my back everytime we get one in or id be happily signing transfers. :B sharron ;D
  13. the following birds failed to return from folkstone last wed. :'( Blue Cock 03 GB K19992 Blue Hen NEHU 04 SHOT 3353 Blue Cock NEHU 04 SHOT 3350 Would be grateful for any info good/bad thanx
  14. hi i already own albert babbingtons book, i am more interested in finding out about the more recent champions of this strain, as my birds seem to be children and grand children of de rappe and ger Broken poot ect ;D
  15. :-/ from my health point of veiw i clean the birds out once a day, my dad suffered from pigeon lung really badly and he always blamed it on the fact he used to deep litter, i saw what he ended up like and i dont want to go the same way, having to be on oxygen 15hrs a day and not being able to walk far :'( So my lofts are kept clean well ventilated and bone dry with a little help from some limestone floor powder ;D As far as medications go the only thing my birds get is vaccination, and i still wear a mask at all times when with the birds just to be sure
  16. Hi, i sent 7 birds and my 1st was back at 1.27pm it was very late i thought and i only clocked it to say id clocked as me and mum are novices and need all the experiance we can get lol any way im very glad i did as it won the club and 2nd and 3rd placed birds were clocked in a full 30mins later by Mr cockroft.son +G.son (i race with shotton palms). Up to now i have 4 out of 7 back. However the other club in the village (shotton WHS) had its winner timed in by MR cockroft, son +G.son at 1.08pm. ;D so it was a queer race for the shotton fed, but im not complaining its only me and mums 1st season after taking over my late fathers birds, so just to be placed is an honour
  17. Thanx it was only a club victory, but im only a novice and you gotta start somwhere which fed do you fly with sean75 ?
  18. Hi, i sent 7, my 1st bird was at 1.27pm (liberation was at 7am) it was the only bird i clocked giving me my 1st win of the season, but returns were terrible im still 3 missing and the 3 birds that came this evening looked all tired out !! it seemed a hard race ??) p.s i fly with the shotton fed
  19. thanx, will call the number in the morning ;D
  20. Gay pied Flew in this morning has a peach/pink race rubber on leg.
  21. Hi i have pigeons like that in the uk, mine are of mixed fancy breeding mostly saxon breast crosses with some tippler/tumbler thrown in to give them the sumersaulted flight pattern like you i have no idea under what umbrella as far as type thease birds fall in to, the fanciers round here call them tumblers and keep them as droppers for there race birds, i started keeping them as a child as my father thought they were more child friendly and they were a way of keeping my away from the race birds ;D thease days i have 12 - with 10 having a life of leisure and 2 acting as droppers each season The brown youngster is lovely, looks exactly like the old lady of my loft, who will be 24 this year (she was my 1st pigeon as a child, and is still with us) ;D
  22. Thanx bewted, i had a pet quality saxon as a child and he was a lovely chap and now i have a spare loft with aviary and time to spare id love try my hand a exibiting this bonny looking breed
  23. Hi does anyone breed/ exhibit this breed ??? are there any show quality breeders in the north east of england ??? ;D id love to keep this fancy breed
  24. Hi can anyone tell me about this strain, and over what distance they are bred to fly ? thanx in advance ;D
