    Free Tiled loft

I know the guy who posted this thread and he is 100% genuine. It would be in his best interests to stay away from pigeon as they have affected his health.
  2. Have you thought about leaving some hazards in the area of the loft for them. Some 4 inch nails driven into a board and left sharp end up often works wonders. Simalarly 240 volts onto an unearthed wire entry door also works.
  3. I had some made from Polyprop pipe some years ago--I still have these. Polyprop pipe is heavier than guttering and they have blocks welded on the ends. They were uncovered but seldon fouled. Anyone working in the pipe fabrication or chemical industries can have these made for the price of a pint to the tradesman.
  4. Magic well done
  5. No insult intended. Sorry if it was taken that way. If you are stuck for something to do you can come up here and build an identical loft for me.
  6. I bet the birds are fighting for the high perches.
  7. Harry ---sorry to read this. I
  8. That seems very cheap to me. I have a covered run at the moment which has bantams in it. I am getting shot of these. The only problem at the moment is the run is only about 4 foot 6 inches high. It's about 20 foot long by 15 wide.
  9. What price for the pair? My wife would prefer budgies
  10. Like yourself I would love a pair of these to keep in an aviery but I wonder what effect it would have on the pigeons. Would they be happy living close to birds of prey.
  11. It's still not listed as sold on the web site
  12. Can you select what would be potentially long distance on the basis of type?
  13. I believe that when RPRA introduced ETS they quoted that they had to allow this to go ahead as to not do so would be breaking discrimination laws.
  14. No I mentioned integrity and that is exactly what the club I am a member of has in abundance. It also has a great deal of additional merits which I will detail if you like. But let's start with harmony. I don't see a great deal of harmony in the other club based on the posts by it's members on this thread. If I were to feel as strongly as some of the posters on this thread obviously do then I would be seeking an alternative. Note----I resigned from the SNFC as a fully paid up member before the split because I was unhappy with the club management.
  15. Are you unhappy to compete in a club whose reputation and integrity are untarnished?

    rats

With most poisons they need about 4 good feeds and may take 7 days to die.

I thin k it's best to get the appropriate poison and put it down inside the purpose built sealed containers. The council have the strongest poison if you know someone who works with them. Even if you phone the council they will tackle the problem for you. The pest control guys should be on call out. If you have a compost heap with discarded household scraps in it especially fruit this attracts them. They love fruit. One of the guys in our club works in this field so we have discussed it at ringing nights.
  18. Personally I wouldn't mix them but I can see that the idea is to release chlorine gas. If you really want to dabble I would mix hudrochloric acid amd Potassium Permanganate for mega chlorine. Cleans like a champion but potentially lethal.
  19. Once I had several birds which had a blue tip to their tongue. I had heard that "blue tongue" could be caused by a vitamin deficiency. I sacrificed a bird and had a Post Mortem done by SAC at Auchincruive. The verdict was that the colouration was "only pigment". There was no health problem with the bird whatsoever. Idon't think I would be worried about this condition.
  20. One immediate method of chlorine removal is to fill the drinkers through a spray nozzle. This is recommended for changing water in fish ponds. Tap water also contains Chloramines which is not so easily removed. My water usually stands overnight.
  21. I have a similar mail.

    SNFC /RPRA

I spoke to a guy who meets many Renfrewshire fanciers last night and each and everyone of these Renfrewshire guys seems to have a different interpretation of what's happening in their fed. The members don't even seem to be clear about this matter. What chance do outsiders have.
  23. I think there is a great deal goes on behind the scenes which is never made public. As far as a non political, not wishing to line his own pocket and very informative guy who actually supports 2 Nationals.John Harwood gets my vote any time. I suppose he is more of a scribe than a PRO for an organisation.
