    Overfly

slugmonkey what if the birds clear immediately? what if the weather deteriorates markedly over the last 20 miles? what if the last 20 miles is polluted by hawks? what about the days in a headwind when the wind is gaining strength the further you fly? overfly pigeon fancier meaning "the reason I was beaten"
  5. is this no too early?

    Overfly

overfly pigeon fancier meaning "the reason i was beaten" reality/distance the shortest line between two points. velocity= distance divided by time. the fastest pigeon wins.
  7. doos i am no trying to annoy you or anyone else. you clearly say the wind is the main factor at kelso. this indicates that the time of liberation in your view is not an issue. the wind on saturday was the same for glasgow renfrew and lanarkshire. the guys on here from lanarkshire are reporting 100 per cent returns. all the facts would lead peopel to believe there is no issue using the criteria outlined by yourself.
  8. retake i am informed that parts of glasgow had good returns. slow but they came eventually. i am told the same of some of renfrew. 36 out of 41. 8 from 10. 9 from 12. this was at clocking.
  9. what conditions have been described doos?
  10. doos r us if you were in the golf club who was looking after the pigeons. your theories if true would mean no one ever has a good race from kelso. the posts from lanarkshire members would not support this. tammy all i am trying to point out is that controllers from everywhee are trying their best. information avaiable to one controller may not be available to others. the smaller feds are more wary of clashing and drag than a fed with the numbers lanarkshire has.
  11. glasgow and rtenfrew let go at 7am. i am informed that glasgow had good returns. the cold whatever that means does not seem to have had any effect. as to waiting a little.there was an air show taking place in east lothian later in the morning. there were a number of feds in the area. the smaller feds do not have the safey of a large convoy. i think everyone tried their best and for one assistant race controller to imply that others with a great deal of experience may have been a little bit hasty is somewhat self defeating. i take from your post tammy lanarkshire will have no early libs with their ybs due to the cold.
  12. "too cold at that time" what was the temperature? tammy at that time.
  13. it looks like everybody knows something. some more than others. nobody is willing to put the lot on the table. one thing is certain there is going to be a lot more rumour and counter rumour before the end of this. this is a pity for all those who have timed good pigeons. i would not like to be sitting wondering if the race was a race or not a race. what a predicament for all concerned.
  14. time will tell
  15. there seems to be a story with a number of variations on a theme. one way or another there seems to be a lot of talk. an atmosphere.
  16. think this is best left alone and wait and see
  17. that might be the case sammy.
  18. no some peopel went who are frequently on here sammy.
  19. i have heard some wild ones too. hope there is no substance to any of it. this race posts are terribly quiet. seems to be an atmosphere of some kind.
  20. how did this race end up. seems awfully quiet. who are the winners. t pedan. w holland d&l hay billy bilsland all in, any more info?
  21. i think the question was concerning defra which is the final decision making legal body for all of the UK and and Northern Ireland.
  22. the question is do scotland have thier own defra. the answer is no
  23. are you saying the answer is no bruno?
  24. rose you are failing to read the post. i said advocating breaking the rules. i do not understand why those on the forum who are spouting vigilanty type resistance do not go immediatly to the front line. it is easy to make suggestions as to what should happen. this mad attempt at rousing up an illegal reaction is totally irresponsible and will only cause serious damage to the pigeon fancy. rose the only thing that is obvious is that nothing is obvious.
  25. find it somewhat hypocritical when moderators are openly advocating breaking the law by ignoring defra therefore the law. strange they then feel the need to remove posts from this open forum quoting the possibility of breaking the libel / slander laws. hypocricy at its worst
