  1. accept or not accept is the question. reasonable ban or personal revenge is another question. were the charges placed reasonable. were the sanctions impossed reasonable. football players, athletes, and a number of other spotsmen and women have recently been found gui;ty of drug taking, violent conduct, and a wide range of misdemeanors. when we compare the sanctions taken we do not find anything that comes near the brutality and madness of ten to twenty year bans that seem to have become the norm in the pigeon game. is it not time for some body outside pigeons to mediate and try to put some sense back.
  2. the rpra run their own rules and constitution. the confederation has no power over the rules and constitutionof the rpra. the confederation has no authority over individual organisations. the shu should direct any question through cumbria region. by their actions they are trying to undermine the officials of the cumbria region. i do not understand how an organisation with a falling membership of around 3000 expects to control an organisation with a membership in excess of 40000. the members of the individual organisations have no vote on the confederation therefore the confederation has no rights over the membership. the rpra is a democratic organisation the confederation is not. the confederation has no appeal process so therefore is unconstitutional. this all smacks of once again a failed attempt at the tail wagging the dog. the shu are attempting to coerce the rpra into doing as they are told. the constitution and rules of the rpra will ensure that firness and openess will prevail. the confederation has no constitution therefore no rights and no say in how individual organisations operate. therein lies the democratic safeguard
  3. the meeting on the 5th october is it open to all of central scotland east and west. are youse trying to set up a bigger combine .more members on the transporter more chance of improving the transporter as more money would be availble. i could see a lot of interest over here. would it no have been better to have the meeting outside lanarkshire and in bigger venue.
  4. this post seems to have gone on endlessly. what has been done has been done. the officials have tried their best. their best has been good enough for years now so why no let things rest. it is foolish to use all your energies trying to solve something that has already happened and therefor cannot be changed. i am sure the people in charge are no fools and no what they are doing. you will see that all will work itself out in the end. the race controller has done a marvellous job for many years now and it seems rather harsh to lambast him for one race. the report shows that another six feds let go so this would imply that the weather was suitable. it would be best for all to move on and forget this issue. it would be foolish to continue to cause unrest and bad feeling. the birds were liberated in good faith. the controller was only doing his job.
  5. i was interested in the forums opinion on the total number of pigeons left from the original entry. i personally think the per centage highlights the problems we all have with YBs at present. i have followed one loft races for a few years now and i have the opinion that administratively the RPRA race is the best i have seen. every piece of information good or bad is available to those who enter on a public forum. this is not the case in other high profile one loft set ups. some of the other organisations set up a web site and only selectively up date the site. i have entered quite a few over the past years but now all if i am entering will go to the RPRA.
  6. I do not know about the returns but the administration and management of the lofts looks to be outstanding. what a breath of fresh air it is to see an organistaion being open and straightforward. all information is freely available at all times. the owners through the web site can trace all entries and full paper trail of the finances of the event from start to finish. we can see from the date of commencement how many entries at what price total income then total expenditure. any questions are answered in a friendly professional manner. I will be back next year. this ranks well above most other one loft set ups. well done and a big thank you to all involved.
  7. After looking at the final result it is easy to see that around 33% of the original entry ar still in the loft. Do fanciers think this a fair return out of 1000 entries? [face=Arial][/face]
  8. just come off the rpra one loft site. excellent coverage. yesterdays result already posted. returns are fair. maybe the ones that are missing will turn up. good to see our club pigeon still there. have pigeons in other one loft set up. information is non existant. we seem to be in the dark as to what is happening. any questions are treated as an attack. never again!
  9. the weather on saturday was bad throughout durham. the durham amal held their liberation to around miday. so did unc. i think they use steve appleby.whesther we think that 6 feds letting go means they cannot all be wrong, the returns tell us different. it will be interesting to see the outcome of the emergency meetings tonight.i hope some of the birds turn up. but i fear the worst. the stray centre may have some returns. personally i fear the birds coming back through the stray centre as the mixing of run down birds does no good.
  10. steve appleby has clearly shown what happened on saturday. see the maps on barts post. time to plan what members are going to do to complain and then move on. i am sure no one was trying to loose pigeons on purpose.
  11. why a tenner and not twenty or fifty. if subs need to go ip their shuld be a reason and a budget forcast to show why. to many others pull figures out the air. the money of the members is used like confetti all to often. if we need money then we shuld be clear what we need it for.
  12. seem to be easily upset by one person telling us how his returns were. this is not a problem and did not cause the loses. sily if we wonder of the point. who let them go when the weather was terrible

    One-Loft-Race

Alan I hear that the scottish one whatever it is calling itself had only the winner at the prize presentation. No one was invited. The woman in the office who deals with it had no information from those running the race. I have been informed that Bobby Kennedy is being sweet talked into doing a patch up job on the pr side. All the people like doostalker who put in the donkeywork have not even been considered. Bobby Kennedy is being given a free weekend some where for him and his wife if he takes on the task. The administrator for the scottish race is still awaiting any information to put it all together. The way this has been approached would not give much encouragement for 2006. It is the case that at present there are only 50 entries for 2006. At the same time last year the number was over 200. Says it all. Makes you think.
