    SAINTES

the success in pigeons managing to home so well is fitting return for the effort and resources put into this excercise by the SNRPC members involved. raising transport and prize funds through generous donations and bird sales has reaped outstanding rewards. by these efforts it has now been proved 700 mile racing is a big possibility into Scotland. this is a magnificent achievement for a club less than five years old. also it must be pointed out that the assistance of the NFC has been integral to the success of the venture so thanks to all concerned. co-operation and communication showing the way forward. we look forward to next year and what it will bring to those who take the sport a step further. for now though lets wollow in the feel good factor of the pigeons and their owners that have shown the way. congratulations to all involved.

i think a silver medal and a first prize around £200 is being put up by the SNRPC for SNRPC members in this race good to hear. well done also to those who organised the marking and to Gordon Geddes and Willie Johnston for taking the birds to Crewe. Gordon Geddes deserves a medal for what he does for the pigeon fancy in Scotland.

glasgow away at 3.45 at kelso.
  9. bigda im sure any fed who receives donations or gifts from fanciers outside their own fed are more than greatful. this does not mean that the fed is then bound to show favouritism in any way to those who donate. i still do not understand what your quest is here. are you gunning for glasgow fed? and if so why?
  10. bigda you opted not to go with your fed and to go down the east route with another set up this season. your decision. your right. every one has their own rights and they, like you are free to excercise them in whatever way they see suitable. i cannot understand when one so concerned about a situation that exists in their mind would feel easy transporting their pigeons all season with an organisation they apparantly have great issues with. you have been happy to send birds every week. you have been praising the organisation and forward thinking of the officials involved in the running. i do not know what you are trying to achieve here but maybe you should look in the mirror davie.
  11. i take it then you are welll aware of south lanarkshire position. see the thread on rpra one loft hotspot and you will see a trailer similar to the one that is part of the combine transport mix.
  12. bigda you are now trying to be extremely thick. what is the real question you want to ask? you seen the transporters when you were sending at Ken Buchanans place with the old birds.
  13. south lanarkshire are part of the combine.
  14. kirkys ybs are going with lanarkshire i believe. there is room to potentially convoy around 4000 birds within the caledonian combine, which glasgow is part of.
  15. yes
  16. glasgow fed own their own transporter.
  17. glasgow fed own their own transporter.
  18. my club is part of glasgow fed. gordon is a member of glasgow fed and secretary of my club. we use the glasgow transporter.
  19. john wishbone and clockman i am stirring nothing. i am posting observations if they make you feel uneasy maybe you know more than the rest of us. this brings to mind the old proverb there is no smoke without fire. you two seem to have stuck the match with your comments. as to transit vans a prominent official knows where to hire them if needed. he has used them to transport his fed this season. come clean and let us all see what you know that we dont.
  20. glasgow fed have their own transporter.
  21. a bit late now. euro exchange means cost has gone up markedly. vat at 19% to be added. funds are dwindling £30K lost in the last two years. this year will probably make a loss equal to the previous two. cash availabilty will not be good. price of fuel rising and forecasts indicate the price will double by next year. what size of transporter would be bought. who would manage the transport? these are difficult issues when times are good. given the past performance regarding efficient use of resources i doubt whether purchasing a new/newer transporter is within the reach of most.
  22. liberated at 5.30am sunday in nw winds. they have a long day in front of them. no doubt some will astound us as usual. good luck to all.
  23. over time rose the numbers will increase.
