  1. the heading of your thread is snfc/snrpc. i am an interested member of the snrpc. your thread posses questions as to why everyone does not convoy to nationals together. all i have done is point reasons for not transporting together. good intentions are your individual evaluation of what you have written. others possibly do not see them as good imtentions. you make wide sweepimg assumptions based on your own position on the situation. i do not agree with you. maybe others do maybe others do not. i am not attacking nothing i am posting factual information. if the facts are wrong please be so kind as to point out where they fall down.

    Not marking today

just heard no race this week.
  3. Glasgow fed are not marking today saturday, for a sunday race. i do not know the full position but no race on sunday.
  4. there seems to a distinct lack of content in your posting redandyellow. it is 2008 and you are old enough to realise that we are responsible for our actions. to deny what has happenned in a vain attempt at achieving what you want will not do. why do you refuse to accept what has happenned and your part in it. until you and others accept this nothing can move forward.
  5. john why did these lot of national fanciers who want to be conjointly melodious not vote that way at the meeting where the split happenned.
  6. im not trying to say anything other than what i have said.
  7. i`ll leave to your own devices on this one and see how you get on. good luck.
  8. well said boys. crap!!!! Derick why does this type of response from you not surprise anyone.
  9. transportation is not the issue. the issue is straightforward. one organisation wishes to restrict membership to a select band who are members of the by now legendary scottish homing union. the other organisation is open to any loft situated in scotland who is a member of a recognised ruling authoriity. members of one of the organisation have been suspended, wrongly in the view of most, by the shu and this was one of the main reasons for the snrpc being set up. joint convoying is a non starter until these issues are resolved. one organisation has been to the forefront of most of the advances being made in the sport in scotland, while the other plays a poor copying role. no need for joint convoying. principles do not have a price.
  10. Glasgow fed have postponed the marking for this weeks race scheduled for ( 9th August 2008 ) until tomorrow saturday if the weather forecast is suitable for a race on sunday.
  11. "peregrine attacks every day rocketman" as i said this says it all.
  12. peregrine attcks in 2007. 2008 thirteen feds booked to liberate on same morning. welcome to dooman land.
  13. this says it all. the people who have identified something which they report back as being peregrines watch one liberation being attacked and then in their wisdom let another set of pigeons free to be attacked. why would the federation return to this race point given that they have been told of these events. further has anyone considered the effect of letting off rockets will have on pigeons. i would seriously doubt the sense in putting people, who knowingly liberate pigeons into a guaranteed peregrine attack, in charge of potentially lethal fireworks. as i have stated before this does not add up.
  14. the race controller has enough on their plate. communication is a federation issue and should be an agenda item at fed level. as bigda`s post points out regardless of what they say he will not believe them "if they really told me what was going on" so the content of any post on here would not be believed.
  15. should the race controller report back to the fanciers with his/her first report on a friday night or phone round at five o`clock on a saturday morning. would it be fair to exclude the people who do not have a computer? where do we stop?
  16. race controllers are hard enough to find. why dont you take the job of communications officer for whichever organisation you fly with bigda.
  17. appoint someone to take the role at the agm. i agree with you about open communication 100%. i am also of the opinion that when individuals jump in on incorrect information gained whatever way they should be subject to the ridicule that they attempt to hand out. the situation that i refer to in glasgow is a classic. where some ill informed, ill prepared blow hard demands an audience with people wh have nothing wrong, to put them in their place. not acceptable. communication works two ways. acting with responsibility is all of our concern.
  18. not all controllers are users of the computer. also transfer of information can also lead to variations on reality at times. issues and proposals like these should be brought up at agm`s and during the close season. discussed not argued and causing massive rifts about nothing. this week one fancier in the glasgow fed started complaining how he had heard from the horses mouth that the rain never stopped at otterburn on saturday. he stated he was putting a letter into the fed about the situation. when he was handed the photos on here he stood back and said nothing. last year he put a letter into the fed about another situation he had heard about from the horses mouth. he was wrong again. i think he is confusing the openings on a horses body.
  19. how did they know they were peregrines. did they attack from the air. also this implies that the people liberating were not able to see the attackers prior to liberation. from the pictures and personal experience at otterburn liberation site you would have a good chance of seeing raptors above you. nothing to give them cover. also if peregrines were attacking why did federations continue to liberate? a lot this does not add up.
  20. may i say again look at the photos. according to other convoyers the liberations were subject to annoyance by "hawks rising from the ground" as far as i am aware there has never been an ariel attack witnessed at a liberation from the beacons liberation site at otterburn where these photos were taken on saturday. the liberation site is sitting above most of the surrounding countryside and offers no advantage to a peregrine. a peregrine looks for and uses natural advantage.
  21. returns were mixed. most of chryston club had above average returns. i hear this was not the case in other clubs. reasons for this are anyones guess. clearly not the result of anything happening at the liberation or the race controlling. four seasons one day typical weather for our area. seems to be a shortage of mirrors.
  22. anyone who takes the time to look at the photographs will realise that the lib site is well elevated. it has no advantage to a peregrine to strike. i have personally liberated pigeons at this site on three occassions this year and have never seen a perigrine. i see peregrines everyday at the loft. there may well be other raprors around possibly marsh harriers huntng the moors that surround the liberation site. please also consider i am only talking about the area around the liberation site not the whole of northumberland.
