It is not rocket science. I never mentioned it benefiting anyone. My point was about ring verification and registration but some people do fly to two loft locations it would open a can of worms in my opinion.

Surely if a bird has two union/assosiation rings they must both be accessale to officials in order that ownership can be verified when needed. I think the rule states that it is not illegal to have two rings but both must be registerd to one owner hence the need for visibility. Otherwise it would be feesable for two people to race one bird to two locations and there would be nothing to stop this if one ring was covered all the time and nobody was allowed to check it. Paul.

I am losing the will to live here. Is there not an issue with hiding a ring in that it must be registered to the person flying the bird and in effect must be seen in order that it can be verified as being the legitimate property of the person sending it? then again I have maybe missed something as I am dizzy reading all this. interesting debate though! Walter you are right, Sandy was always and still is passionate about keeping the cost down for all fanciers no matter how many they send every week. The north of Scotland Fed has always been well run and when you consider the logistics of picking up birds from Nairn to Peterhead and the costs involved the Fed is an example to most. There was a crisis in the council yard here last week. The workmen were in the van on their way to a job when the youngest one said ' wait a minute we have left the yard without our shovels what are we going to do'. After much discussion and three cups of tea, 2 fag breaks and a kip in the van the gaffer announced ' I know I will phone the office and see what they advise us to do. Of the gaffer went to phone the office and tell them of the problem of having no shovels. back he came and announced to the group ' I spoke to to foreman in the office he said we will just have to lean against each other until he gets some shovels delivered to us'

Twelve men 6 shovels between them, six do the digging and six stand and watch ;D ;D ;D ;D

My first ever race when I was at school ( not that long ago ) it snowed most of the day. I set of down the garden with sandwiches and a flask from my mother. Waited the whole day nearly froze to death and didn't see a feather that day. Got three next morning and one on Monday 100% returns I was delighted, and got a couple of days off school with a cold Paul.

Council workers ( 6-8 of them) here were raking up leaves in the park from under the snow and cutting bushes. Yet the pavements were all icy and old people couldn't get out of their houses. Utter madness. If he does come back give him both barrels from me aswell. 8) Paul.
