Delboy / Alec, i am the same, between 12 and 15, ive put the work in and they are in good order but all untried at this distance, hoping for a nice surprise come race day

Heard last week that a delegates meeting was arranged for this week to to drop Carentan in favour of SNFC ypres, im also a FED delegate but to date have never been notified. It would make sense if this were to happen but at this late stage the national might just chase Lanarkshire if they approached them.

Dont agree with this statement, there are many doos have been lost at 200 miles or less that have previously scored from 500/600mls, on Wednesday from Cheltenham i dropped a cock who 5th w/section 35th open Tours 2011, and was timed from the Gold cup race in 2010, and previous to this i have dropped others that were timed from France last season

Gareth, bet you thought you could nip into Larkhall south and nobody would see you, your luck was right out when me , Meikle and Gordon were there, that was some beamer you had when we were abusing you, looked as if you had been tangoed. Tee Hee,Davie

For all you basics members who have been following the east VS west debate in Lanarkshire, just thought i would let you know that that big Gareth sent doos as trainers to Otterburn on the east route with South Lanarkshire Fed tonight.Jim Meilkle, Gordon Orr and myself gave him a hard time, im sure Basics members will do the same, so much for " west is best" LOL, Davie

I have been racing pigeons in Blantyre since the mid sixties and dont ever recall a Bobby Hyslop

I might not normally agree with this Frank but in this instance you are correct, i voted to go east and convoy to the coast and the Feds channel race with the SNFC and got beat on both counts, all you got from the mob was " we are Lanarkshire and we can go ALONE " so let them go alone, it will be interesting to see how many they have got left to go alone with to the coast and channel races after having flown west for a season.

Lanarkshire Fed Race Program 2012
Big Davie replied to JohnQuinn's topic in Pigeon Politics, Rules & Regulations
Gareth, Jims doos are also on the transporter, dont you think he puts as much work into his as any of the rest us, the man is in charge and is just calling the shots to the best of his ability with the best interests of the birds in mind, we are all great race controllers with the benefit of hindsight, anyway i dont think he should be ridiculed or criticised on an open forum, he has previously been hounded out of the job and i for one was glad to see him back, the jobs hard enough to do without having to read some the pash written on hear about him. -
Cmon then Nogin, fill us in

John will make a good president of Lanarkshire when he steps up,controlled a rowdy meeting well today, got it wrong in refusing to accept proposals to convoy with SNFC but eventually seen sense and changed his mind on this point.

Lanarkshire Fed Race Program 2012
Big Davie replied to JohnQuinn's topic in Pigeon Politics, Rules & Regulations
John, exactly what i said at the meeting, short memories and it was only 3 years ago, just wait until they have no doos left to go to Dorchester, Sartilly , or the nats. As a matter of interest, thought you might know if this was true,i was told at todays meeting that the Midland Fed combine average trophy had not been won for the past 5 years down the West route, any thoughts -

Lanarkshire Fed Race Program 2012
Big Davie replied to JohnQuinn's topic in Pigeon Politics, Rules & Regulations
Alan, alot of the guys who left today voted to go west, they won the vote, after that they were not caring where the birds went as long as it was west, i might add i was not one of them, east for me -
theres nothing on libline at 09:15, unusual

John i fully agree, but i would like to know why the liberation was delayed, c,mon Homer fill us in or maybe some of the Ayshire boys who went at the same time can enlighten us. Davie

What Are We Getting From The Lanarkshire
Big Davie replied to a topic in Pigeon Politics, Rules & Regulations
Frank 123,neither the baskets or transporters are pleasing on the eye but they are adequate for the job,got to agree with Tooshy boy wev,e travelled on these units for donkeys years with no problems in years gone by, i,ll tell you why the birds are looking for a drink now, years ago after the birds were race marked they went directly to the race point and were there with loads of time to spare which allowed them to get rested , settled and get a drink before they were liberated ,back then as soon as we got to the plus 200ml races they were marked on a Thursday, nowdays they sit somewhere overnight in a unit with thousands of birds creating a lot of heat and thirst, then the unit leaves allowing enough time to get to the race point arriving with say a max of 2 hours before lib, birds are not rested and many dont have enough time to force there way forward to the drinker, thats the problem nowdays and its all about cost rather the welfare of the birds, the only time we go on a Thursday now is when we go to the inland nats with the SNFC, at least then you know that the birds will be at the race point in plenty time to settle, rest, feed, and get a drink. Gareth, Bent Lad if i recall correctly was Marshall of Hamiltons gold cup winner

Enjoyed todays meeting it was not as unruly as the last few years, glad the Fed continue to race from an easterly direction and that we are still going with the SNFC provided they are still happy to take us, think we will have pay some sort of Fed birdage to cover prize in our open races if prize money remains at its current level, but thats for the AGM next month. Alan,no guarantee yet that Lanarshire will go west, should be interesting tommorow.
-
workin tommorow but hoping only a half shift so i can attend, OB,S drop an Otterburn go to Kelso instead, get an alternative to Consett, plus add a Thirsk approx 150 mls, otherwise same as last year and go with the SNFC, East is best, we all know that there are perigrines everywhere but its a well known fact that the highest density of them in Europe is in Cumbria and south west Scotland, suicide trying to race from there, sound advice from Delboy and Alex Guiness who have been there and tried it in the recent past.
