if this proposed change to rule 13 came from within the committee, and was to adopted, their would be no doubt in my mind which national club was affiliated to Walt Disneys " Mickey Mouse ". Ive been hammering away at Lanarkshire Fed for years trying to get them to go to the coast and their channel race with the SNFC which they finally did this year, now all of a sudden someone wants to do away with sections D and E to create a new amalgamated section M, who,s kidding who, leave sections D and E alone they are just fine as they are. cant make out who proposed this looking at the resolutions on the sheet, but they are needing their head examined, or maybe they think that there are easy pickings to be had if the birds come up the East side of the country or come in of the north sea, ie get them first and get overfly, not so stupid after all.If this goes through can see the SNRPC getting a flood of applications from "" FORMER "" section E members. Budgie, agree 100% with your train of thought in this post but we both know that where doo men are concerned " Common Sense " does not always prevail. i just hope that the right people are voted in and that the right decisions are taken at the forthcoming agm to take the SNFC forward. Davie

Agree 100% with Sammy, i was also at the sale that day specificaly looking for Van Wanroy birds but there were none in the pens, i asked Jaap if he had any with him and he let me handle maybe six birds that were not for sale that this guy had ordered, he then produced two black cock birds which he explained were to be sold on the elimar site but said that he would let them go for £300 each, all eight birds were good quality, and i was really interested in one of the two black cocks, but the guy that had ordered the birds showed up and took all the Van Wanroys including the two black cocks, i have never seen him before in my life so he is not a Lanarkshire man, I was also told that day that he was French, or lived in France and was visiting relatives in the UK, stocky built, late 50,s bearded.Just for info there were a number of birds that day on display, or in panniers that were definitely cross show racers. Lugols Aqueous Iodine is an excellent tonic for thyroid gland function, and for keeping crop fungal infections at bay, 10ml to 10 litres of water once per month in winter and once per fortnight during racing. Aqueous = water so it is already watered down, have used it for years. Davie

First Kirky now Clarkston,do you ever think why, sounds to me as if your fcucking it yourselves, maybe its something to do with your race programme!!!!

LANARKSHIRE'S NEW PRESSIDENT
Big Davie replied to nogin's topic in Pigeon Politics, Rules & Regulations
Jim is one of the best controllers in the game, if you had him maybe your YB lofts would not be empty at the end of the season, and as far as Slamannan is concerned thats almost in the East section. Davie -
LANARKSHIRE'S NEW PRESSIDENT
Big Davie replied to nogin's topic in Pigeon Politics, Rules & Regulations
Good work by Gareth he obviously put a lot time and thought into his proposals, but ive got to say i was dissapointed that the transport committee that has been meeting for two years could not offer any opinions with regard to making progress on this front. Davie -
Bart think we would be better buying one and then renting it to the national. Davie
-
Bigda, last i heard we needed three Geraldys, any idea where the money is coming from, we have money in the bank but not enough, i think the lottery is a nono, and i know that a lot of Lanarkshire members will "sh----e" their pants if a sizeable levy is proposed. Davie

Sounds just abour right to me Bart

As far as im concerned it was the worst thing that ever happened to the fancy in Scotland when a second national flying club was formed, and thats not a critisism of the guys who formed it.When you look at the outside pressures that are killing the sport ( ie ) Avian Flu, birds of prey, rises in fuel and feeding costs, vaccination, aging membership, etc, etc, the last thing we needed was dispute that drove a wedge straight through the heart of the fancy up here.We are killing ourselves from the inside out, from national level through the Federations down to club level, and if it is not halted soon this great sport will be gone for good.I have now been racing pigeons for 40 years and have never been so disillusioned with the amount of crap that is flying about the doo game at present, most of it caused by petty jealousy, and by so called " Fanciers" who cannot or will not think outside their own backyard.I was present at the 2005 snfc agm and voted for the the status quo, given the the opportunity i will not do so again, for christs sake bury the hatchet, get the two committees round a table and get a way forward before it is too late. Bigda you have got to look at the big picture,Fed secretary also reported today that by going with the SNFC to Falaise in 2008 that we turned round a one thousand loss in 2007 to two thousand pound profit in 2008, a gain of three grand which is great business when you consider that we are going to need every penny we can muster when it comes to buying new transporters, if we go with the National 3 times in a season this could amount to a gain of around 10 grand in one year. Personally im delighted with the race programme, Gareth you forgot to mention that we also decided that we would now be flying the east route for the the next 3 years which is even better news. Davie

Neither do i homer, as long as this is what happens !!!. Going back to your first post on this subject, it was you who proposed that the 2 hour sitting time rule before lib should be deleted, ive asked you a number of times what you think should take its place but i have not as yet received an answer. Davie
-
Homer im going to let you of the hook here, surely the trick is to locate Lib sites with facilities for the convoyer and drivers convenience, where the transporter can also be parked up for 2 hours allowing the birds to be watered before they are liberated, you say the 2 hour sitting rule should be deleted, what is going to replace it ????< this looks as if you are suggesting that for races under 150 miles the birds should be released asap after arrival on site without getting a drink. What this has got to do with race controller flexibility i dont know,as far as im concerned whether the birds are sitting at the local cafe / truck stop or racing from 60 to 600 mls then they should be given the opportunity to drink before they are liberated, the birds should always come first. cheers Davie
-
Homer 49 Is this 2 hours on site or 2 hours at the nearest truck stop, im getting confused, if the 2 hour sitting rule is to be deleted, what are you proposing takes its place ???
-
Homer 49 you said you would like to see the 2 hour rule deleted, what are you proposing then. Davie
-
Homer 49, the two hour sitting rule is to allow the birds to be watered and then settle down before liberation, im asumming that this is still happening when the transporter is parked up at the nearest truck stop. Davie

could not agree more Alf, Huntingdon / Cheltenham are a complete waste of time and effort if you had two inland races available to you with the SNFC.
-
Fine by me Homer 49 if it comes off, ive heard talk that Newbury might be dropped, cant see it myself its to much of a money spinner.
-
Yes Lanarkshire fanciers had some great performances from Falaise, but a lot of guys who did score well would not normally have entered birds with the SNFC if they had not been convoyed with them, in addition to this they did not have to split their teams to compete in two channel races which makes a big difference, i dont think the good performances can be down to racing on the west route. I agree the first six races were flown in east winds which does not make things any easier when flying a westerly programme,if you look at the losses in the Midland Fed over the last few years with both old and young birds then i am afraid this tells it,s own story. Its east for me if i can get it.
-
how do you know it never done them any harm this season, there were a pile of old birds lost on the west route during 2008 that raced as young birds down the east route in previous years. Cant disagree that we should be going to our longest inland and channel race with the SNFC.
