    Davie Elliott

George Phoned Davie today too congratulate him and he reckons it six with umpteen 2nds and 3rds, very well done on another section win and first class performance
  3. Hey Jimmy Meant to thank you for bringing my clock down to me on Saturday night after I left it at the cub hut Cheers Davie
  4. Well done Marshall, good to see one of the workers for the fed at the top of the sheet
  5. Cheers guys, been a few years since I entered any doos through Blantyre but as no one in my regular club was sending to the fed race that's where I went as I'm still a member, great to win the race and the pools were a nice wee bonus, and the members all shook my hand firmly with genuine congratulations.
  6. And you Wattie
  7. Tommy Wife's away tae a hen night so had to fend for myself so I've already had mine, a large special and a tub of ice cream oot Equis, a wiz like a pig eaten snotters !!!
  8. Aye but it's an open race competing against a national race, so I think considering this then the entry is not bad, if I recall correctly it also used to be a duplication race ( pooling ) a number of years back, and some guys will have split their teams like me with 9 at the national and 9 at the fed race and I've kept some at home for the coming distance races just in case we get a towsing with the birds that are out this weekend, historically guys also used this race to condition some of their national candidates before we ever had inland nationals.
  9. Aye, but their is a big difference between making it home and racing home
  10. Gareth Quite surprised at 1100 /1200, in the past we have been going to this race with approx 900, so that really is not a bad entry
  11. Well done the Lanarkshire brigade, first class job as usual
  12. Frank No it does not count because you would have been in your bed sleeping all night the night before, just like the doos I will bet if you had been wakened all night and then faced a 26 mile bike ride first thing in the morning you wouldn't have been so keen or would not have performed to your normal potential, for me it makes absolute sense to give the birds at least 4 hours rest before liberating especially at distances of 200ml plus, JMO
  13. expletive remove Delboy you must be a clairvoyant
  14. Malcolm agree with what your saying about the east being flatter, however regards not being able to win a national if your doo comes from the east that really depends on where the race is being flown from, one of the most even Nats for a spread of top open prizes in recent times was flown from Liege in the east, I'm sure Delboy remembers it well, Ypres has also been good for this
  15. Have to agree with that Frank, Buckingham / Upper Heyford on the same day approx 290 mls, Maidstone / Bedhampton on the same day approx 360 mls , then we go with the SNFC for the fed channel open race from Ypres in Belgium ( East ) after racing down the west route all season with the fed, for me its fe kin mental and very hard to find doos for these races and the other nationals, especially after some of the guttings we have had this year, these are just my own personal thoughts and are not aimed at the Lanarkshire fed officials
  16. Leave then out
  17. Two
  18. Absolutely gutted for you and your dad John, bad enough losing quality to the BOP when training and racing but to lose a cock of this quality at the back door is sickening, especially at this time of the year when you think your more or less safe from the sparrow hawk, keep yer chins up as I'm sure you both will
  19. Think it's more likely they've been hit early and never moved away from the area George
  20. Can't see any point in lying about it Del, it's been a stinker for me.
  21. I know, can hardly believe it myself, thought with it being a good day today something would have turned up but got nothing
  22. Nothing since Sunday, still waiting on 66, so they are nowhere near home
  23. Very well done Jim
