  1. Got another reported in Co Tyrone Northern Ireland today and have heard of others in Kent, Devon, Manchester plus all the others on this thread, for me their are only two things that scatters birds all over the country in the opposite direction to where they should be heading, clashing and BOP, and I' don't think they clashed
  2. You are absolutely correct with this post, I have never seen birds drinking as well as they do when in Geraldy panniers, and that's both OB and YB,s
  3. Hey Del or is that Del Hay, !!! Hope you had a good one.
  4. Rab, that's one of the main points, it wasn't a sticky day and should have been a skoosh case at that distance with fair weather and a S/W wind, I have five home from Middleton with BOP injuries, I know another guy with four, mirror that across all the lofts in the Fed and have a guess at the amount of strikes the convoy could have taken, I know the bassas are everywhere but for me it's the common denominator.
  5. Gareth I've also been talking to a number of guys and IMO you're getting this wrong , I.E. A few have got decent returns including yourself, Delboy, and some others that I know of or have spoken too but , again IMO not a few but many, many, lofts are at approx 50% home or less and I will give you a few examples from well established lofts with guys who have a fair idea what they are doing and have been in the doo game most of their lives with a fair amount of success right out to France, these were the figures last night. 20/60, 30/71, 12/29, 17/35,11/21, 18/35, I will not name them here but can assure you these are accurate and I have also heard of worse returns than those I have quoted, and my own returns with the biggest team out where I hoped the race would set me up for the season, 68 / 134 just over half home with 66 missing the vast majority of which are yearlings, I am not having a dig at anyone here because I don't think blame can be levelled at anyone, however again in my IMO the returns from this race are far worse than what you are making out. I also have one reported in Wolverhampton Just
  6. Aye just like the committee shares information with the members !!!
  7. Aye, but that's not modern technology jimmy.
  8. Jimmy Sometimes I think it's more of a hindrance than a help , take on here for instance, I think race controllers can be influenced by what they read because nowadays everybody and their granny are weather forecasters a week in advance of any race, whereas in years gone by you just sent them and put your faith in the race controller, let's face it even with modern technology qualified weather forecasters more often than not can and do get it wrong.
  9. Wattie I agree, no reason not to go to Middleton this week especially if the forecast is good but have heard some saying we should return to Ingleton, no matter where they go birds are going to have to take a 70 / 80 mile jump at some point so why not this week
  10. With not getting a race from Ingleton last weekend where will Lanarkshire be racing from this coming weekend, do we return to Ingleton or miss it out and go to Middleton where the race programme details that we should be ??
  11. Very sorry to hear that Peter, but did warn you not to blow your trumpet until you seen how the race panned out, just hope we don't get similar tomorrow
  12. Hope the race goes well Peter but think you should wait to see how it pans out before you start blowing trumpets
  13. John Is it normal time for transporter pick ups
  14. Gone yersel Homer, but have to agree with you
  15. Gareth Thanks for the update, hate to say this but I'm glad no one else has decided to go with the SNFC to Ypres, or next to no one, would have liked to see the SNRPC going with them but from what I've heard that would appear to have been a non starter.
  16. Spot on Frank, and most of the critics couldn't run a ménage.
  17. Best of luck to those who went, hope it turns out a good race for you with good returns
  18. Tiger Think you like stirring the sheit
  19. Heard that tonight Del and from what I know think you got a raw deal, good job I'm not holding my breath waiting for answer about the Ypres race.
  20. still watching this space, as I said earlier regards the Ypres race, either it's a secret or the committee were not involved in the discussions relating to the arrangements for this " International " race.
  21. Tiger What does that mean??, is someone from the west no longer on the committee
  22. Tiger Did the committee decide the format for the Ypres race ???
  23. Tam, don't know whit yer oan about, a wiz only sennin a hunner, that's no mob flying
  24. Del See if you can find out anything about Ypres as I'm still watching that space on the other SNFC thread, knew I wouldn't get an answer to the questions.
