  1. i can see no fault in this, training old birds in a straight line, if you prefer this, but in my opinion , you are really just training old birds to become fit and keen,, whereas with young birds your learning them, the area,[the lay of the land etc] ,if old birds are experienced, in form, fit,and well motivated, they should come as direct as poss. even if you dont train in a straight line [only my opinion ]
  2. having been on many" panels" at moots etc, i have often noticed four" top pigeon racers" on the stage,[at many different moots] with four completely different management systems and methods, but all one thing in common,, race winners ,,, in my opinion, as with pigeons , there are many roads leading to rome i quite often liken it to a giant jig-saw puzzle , one that can never be finished but, the more peices you can fit to-gether,,,,,,,,,the more successful you will be
  3. happy birthday gareth,, have a great day

  11. after a few of us got together, bought a good few yb,s from , then , the humberside stud.. we put a deposit down at the end of the year , the following year , these y,bs averaged at about £15 each,, the yb,s were shared by a few fanciers,, i topped the fed with one [a de lak ] another of these fanciers topped a different fed [a de klak] we decided to pair these two birds together, [without looking at the pedigrees] we split 4 yb,s,,,two each,, my one topped the fed,,it wasnt untill then we checked the peds,, and to the surprise of both of us ,, these were two" nest mates " mated up i must admit, i would never have did this intentually , especially for racing,,, but the fact remains , a pair of nest mates ,,both topped different feds, bred a pigeon, that also topped the fed so ,as with pigeons, be sure nothing will surprise you more it would be very interesting to see if this pair of yours can produce a winner [or hopefully two ] wish you the best of luck anyway
  12. kind remarks by all,, these pigeons are the" bees knees" no doubt about that,,,,,very sad when you see a lifestime work gong like this,, it would be great ,by anyone buying these pigeons, to see the offspring scoring , and keeping this mans name,, and work,,in the limelight for many years to come, im quite sure this will happen , with the quality of these pigeons
  13. depending on the wind, obviously, but have noticed them crossing here and even up to the bridges, but im quite sure some of these fantastic winners up north, have flown , allmost from eyemouth ,,right up the water,,, but look forward to seeing [each sat] fifers "veiw across the forth" fantastic pics fifer ,, keep it up :)

  23. well,,,, they had to raise thir height just a wee bit [at the hooses ;D] , cause they would have gone through the front window and out the back one ;D ;D ;D [maybe the winners did this ;D ;D ;D] ,,,,but believe me they were a sight to see ;D ;D ;D
